Troll’s Hideaway is a one room (plus bathroom and tiny reading nook) in Fremont. Walking down the alley on the side of the house (which has movement lighting), you enter a small courtyard through a tall privacy gate. A sliding glass door locks and is opened with a key kept in a password protected lockbox.
The VRBO is absolutely beautifully decorated, with muted tones of green and neutral colors. While small, it is perfect for single visitors and couples who travel well together (think European hotel rooms). There’s an excellent Keurig, supplied with K-pods, sugar, Splenda, and creamer and a small refrigerator. Our host, Vlad, was excellent at communicating with us before and during our stay and arranged for delivery of K-pods when I let him know that we were running low.
There is another, larger unit, above this one. We happened to be there when a family with a toddler was staying upstairs. Naturally, there were running footsteps and the occasional outburst, but, since we are parents and can well remember those years, it didn’t bother us much!
The walk to downtown Fremont is 10-15 minutes downhill. I will confess that I lobbied for an Uber after dinner rather than walk back up! The neighborhood is lovely and very safe.
Our daughter lives in Fremont, and we will definitely stay here again. Thanks, Vlad, for being the perfect host!

It was very clean and comfortable and also quiet. I definitely would stay here again. It was a little tricky checking in, but if you read Vlad’s directions carefully it worked perfectly. Also very conveniently located which a big plus.

The place was very clean and quaint. Quiet neighborhood for the most part. Streets get very busy when school is out. It was a fairly small unit so I’d recommend for a short visit only. We found ourselves unsure of where to sit and hang out in between our adventures since there’s only an ottoman, office chair desk, or the reading corner. Believe they rent out the top unit as well which unfortunately, ruined a bit of our stay since they had kids running around at 7am multiple mornings and the walls are very thin. We also had an issue where we were locked out of the unit at 10:30pm the first night because of a wood block that’s used for extra security, fell down in the door tracks. The owner responded 45mins after the fact but we had already used the broom on the patio to maneuver it out through the tiny slit from the door.
Overall, good neighborhood with great food nearby and the bus stops nearby as well.

Vlad's apartment was exactly what we were looking for for pur short stay in Seattle. Great location, easily walkable to all the things we were lookkng to do, as well as bus stops. The space was small, but plenty of character, and clean. It got a little warm during peak hours of the day, but otherwise was just right.

Very nice. Clean, only complaint was the cell /Wi-Fi reception was hit or miss. Didn't work as well in the evening.
Over all we loved it!

Overall great stay for my solo trip to Seattle. Close to downtown so everything was easily accessible but in a more residential area that felt safe. Vlad was extremely responsive as well - would recommend!

I was in town for a quick research trip and stumbled onto this rental in this neighborhood (Fremont) and couldn't be more pleased. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted, had some fantastic meals, and got everything I needed from my first visit to Seattle. Although I was caught a bit off guard by the lack of a TV, I found it a convenient refuge. It certainly helped me focus that much more.

Great place to crash while touring the city. Walkable coffee roasters and French place nearby. Heating works as advertised.

Had a great experience staying at this property! My husband and I were looking for an affordable place not too stay not far from downtown Seattle and this property was perfect. Room is not huge, but it is very clean, especially the new bathroom. Outdoor patio provides additional space to hang out. Owner provided great communication. There were nice touches in the space, such as dishes, coffee, snacks and reading material to borrow during stay. Would definitely stay here again. Biggest challenge was finding the space in the dark because house numbers are difficult to find the neighborhood at night.

Stayed here for a quick wedding weekend. Great location to Uber downtown and to Capitol Hill. The place is very small, nowhere to hang clothes, but overall a great place to crash for the night and great food recommendations and maps! Comfy bed!

Cute little place. The cleaning people were late, so when I got there it hadn’t been cleaned yet, and she showed up just as I was calling the host. No biggie for me, as I just sat on the little patio and read while she cleaned as I wasn’t pressed for time. The host refunded some of my money to make up for it, so clearly he’s a good guy. This is a good place for a single or couple. No room for kids!

Affordable and cozy
We stayed at this property for two nights and it was great. Very nicely decorated, functional space that stayed very nice and cool in some very hot weather! It is on the ground floor of a townhouse so you can occasionally hear people upstairs but we were super impressed with how private and quiet it was. Honestly, the only thing that would have made this place better is if it was closer to downtown. But the location is super walkable to transit and downtown Fremont which we really enjoyed. Overall, a great place to stay and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Place for a Quick Trip
The location of the property was just a few minutes away by car or bus to the Space Needle and is an ideal stay for anyone visiting for a quick trip. We stayed for just a single night but the room was fantastic! The hosts were wonderful and accommodating, they even have a list of places to visit that are within walking distance of the location. Overall, the Troll's Hideaway was a great, quaint, cozy place to stay.
