About this house rental
Stunning newly remodeled 4 bedroom, 3 and 1/2 bathroom home in the historic district that sleeps 12 comfortably with free parking on premise. The home is designed for entertainment and fun or just relaxing and has something for everyone. The cooks will delight in preparing meals in the well-appointed gourmet kitchen that offers all stainless-steel appliances including a 6 burner commercial gas stove with griddle. It has an oversized island, two large sinks, coffee bar and is open to the living/dining with seating for 12. The home has numerous large smart flat screen televisions with cable and free Wi-Fi throughout, as well as USB compatible plugs alleviating the need for charging adapters. For those that are young at heart, there is a game room that boasts an air hockey table and Jurassic Park pinball machine. There is also an attached media room with a 75" flat screen TV and comfy reclining sofas for movie night!
There are two outside decks with seating, perfect for sunset viewing and a downstairs patio with an outdoor gas grill and dining table. There is a private splash pool, great for play or relaxing and a hot tub for just chilling. The pool is only 5 feet deep so it is NOT FOR DIVING. For those that are sports minded there is a putting green and covered basketball court for shooting hoops. When not shooting hoops, the covered carport is perfect for setting up tables for an outdoor dinner. We provide the folding tables and chairs. There are outside fans and a cooling unit for added comfort. There is also an outdoor shower for rinsing off post pool and beach.

We are pet friendly and provide convenient poop bag dispensers for picking up after your fur babies. Upon approval, we will allow up to two dogs up to 40 lbs. each with a required non-refundable $150 per dog pet fee. We kindly request that you utilize the bags to keep the yard clean. There are two outdoor cameras for safety. One in the front of the house and one in the back of the house.

I do not usually leave reviews, but this place deserves one! Y’all, it is exceptional! I have never stayed at a VRBO that was so clean! The location was great! The property is amazing! Pool, basketball, a little putt-putt area, pinball, air hockey (which this was the coolest air hockey table with video!). Being Galveston in the spring, it was still a little chilly, so we all absolutely loved the hot tub! There were plenty of towels. Everything you could need in the kitchen and then some. Beds were comfortable. Oh and the urinals! Urinals were a big hit with the boys lol!
We cannot wait to go back! We hope to make this our go-to spot in Galveston.

From the warm, friendly, and prompt communication with our hosts - to providing the smallest and most appreciative creature comforts, Ms. Laurie and Mr. Lloyd were exceptional hosts! Every photo posted is an accurate view of the inviting decor and cozy family-friendly warmth that awaits you in this "home-away-from-home". The extra quietness of the 3rd floor and neutral color scheme that was chosen throughout the home was extremely important for our son (Autism/sensory integration)-the 3rd floor bedroom became his “calming” room, the openness of the 2nd floor served as his “stimming area”, and he napped on the 2nd floor deck (position of the reclining chairs, constant and surprisingly cool breeze, and sound of the hot tub running was extremely soothing (a BIG thank you!)). The smart TVs; the kitchen with all the amenities of home including a coffee maker, waffle maker, spices and seasonings, a six-gas pilot stove and two large restaurant style sinks; open-floor design, plenty of room on the 2nd floor deck and 1st floor patio; inviting pool (kept very clean); spotless wood floors and bathroom tiled floors; fluffy white bath towels; quietly running washer/dryer that does a superb job of cleaning; VERY COMFORTABLE sleep in ALL the beds. TERRIFIC check-in and check-out (keypad system and cameras); central air and heating and ceiling fans! Quiet neighborhood (surprisingly quiet-no parties, no loitering, no dogs barking all through the night) and free parking! We hope to come back!

Lovely home & very comfortable for children & adults. Game room was a big hit with the kids. Location is close to the Strand, within walking distance & the beach is a short drive. In cooler weather it would be a nice stroll but not in July in TX!! The VRBO pics accurately depict this house. We highly recommend this rental.

My 3 grown children, their wives and the grandkids joined us for a great week! The house was perfect for everyone in the family! They really thought of everything-books for the kids, outside toys, pool, hot tub, even beach towels!! The large kitchen was perfect! Would love to go again!!

Location was great, it seemed like everything was close by, just a short walk to the beach, all kinds of food. The house was very nice, we had 11 people and had plenty of room, the kitchen was fantastic and we used it all but one night. The kids loved the pinball machine and air hockey. We try to have a family vacations like this every couple of years and this one did not disappoint. The house was very clean and orderly, very accommodating for our size group.

This house had everything we needed, even beach supplies!! There was plenty of space for everyone and so much to do. The house is right next to a bike lane that will take you to both the beach and the strand easily.

The house was gorgeous and had plenty of space for us to spread out. The house has so much to do when you’re not out on the island that you’ll never be bored. Pool, hot tub, air hockey, basketball and pinball. We had a blast and we loved the deco and the layout. A definite favorite for our family. The host was extremely helpful and friendly as well.

This home was exactly as described in the listing, plus so much more! The kitchen was stocked with family friendly plates and cups as well as the appliances are all higher end and clean.
The home is packed with so much to do, our grandkids were happy to stay there and not leave.
The communication with the owners was also very prompt and they provided us with everything we needed to make the check-in and check-out procedures simple and efficient.

What a beautiful home with no detail missed! We were excited to get to swim and hang out in the awesome outdoor area but the weather had different plans. Even without the pool and spa, there was still something to do for everyone. We enjoyed several movies and popcorn in the downstairs movie room, we played lots of air hockey tournaments and we all gathered in my favorite room of the whole house, the kitchen.

We have stayed at 50+ VRBO homes from mountains to beaches & this was definitely the whole families favorite!! The house is beautiful and they think of everything. There were so many things for us to that we didn't even have enough time to do them all. The beds were super comfortable and the master bathroom was amazing. The pool the games the kitchen....EVERYTHING PERFECT! Can't wait to come back. Thank you for such a memorable experience for my family.

Really enjoyed the property and had a wonderful stay. Check in and check out were a breeze and the owners were very accommodating to a few requests we had for an earlier check in time so we could get our daughter down for her nap. Definitely recommend and would gladly stay here again!

Our group of 7 stayed and completely enjoyed spending time at this home. The amount of space is incredible. Everyone had their own space to enjoy, and the main living area and kitchen are large enough to have everyone gather without being crowded. The outdoor area had plenty of space and things to do. Owners were very helpful and responsive.

Short family trip reunion to our daughter's medical school, Class of 2010. As a 65 year old with two knee replacements, the numerous stairwells were a problem for me, but my grandson loved the air hockey and pinball. The pool was nice and he loved the basketball court. The hot tub appeared dirty when we arrived but cleared up on day 2. My daughter loved all of the beautiful beach towels provided. The kitchen was perfect. Used the washer/dryer a lot. House very close to our favorite restaurants; Mosquito, Sunshine Bakery and Original Mexican. But nextdoor neighbors and their chickens were unexpected...

I’ve actually never been excited to leave a review for a rental property, but I’ve definitely found an exception. This house is fantastic. The layout is perfect and so well thought-out. The first floor features a beautiful, large, and well-equipped kitchen, sitting area, and master bedroom. The bottom floor has the bunk room, queen-sized room, and game room (the pinball machine is freakin’ awesome and fun.) The top floor has the 2 beds and bedroom with the en-suite bedroom with a private balcony. I thought I’d list the layout, because I wasn’t sure how it was going to look from the pictures. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The hot tub was hot upon arrival and the pool was the perfect size (we lounged, sunned, and we’re able to play floating beer pong!) and temperature for a large group. Around this time of year, your sun by the pool will last until about 4pm. The house was CLEAN. I could tell by the smell when I walked in and I was proven correct. No leftover items were seen from previous guests on the floor, in the pantry, or in the bedrooms. It was noticeably and thoroughly cleaned. The beds were extremely comfortable. We slept well the entire stay. Laurie and Lloyd are so sweet and accommodating, and left birthday treats for my husband and dad from local La kings. I appreciated that they could be easily contacted, but they also weren’t constantly checking in on us and let us enjoy our time. I would absolutely love to stay here again and bring more family and friends to experience this wonderful home.

We were 10 adults, 2 children and a little doggie... totally pleased staying in this house. Amazing! it exceeded our expectations. Totally equipped. Everything is good quality, furniture, kitchen utensils, pillows, game machines... I loved the decoration. Every detail is well thought out. We had so much fun there and the location is ideally close to main attractions and to the beach. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Thaaank you very much Lloyd!

Exceeded expectations
Perfection doesn’t do justice for this home. It was more than I could’ve hoped for in every aspect. From start to finish The Rathburn’s were phenomenal to rent from. The communication and their availability to respond to questions, every detail of the home from decorations to amenities, and the memories we made during our wedding weekend were simply amazing! I/we didn’t want to leave and talked about making this an annual trip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for EVERYTHING!

Amazing House
This house is absolutely beautiful!❤️ It definitely checks all the boxes. The decor is breathtaking, the beds are comfortable, the outdoor furniture is top-notch, and the pool was our favorite amenity. The homeowners spared no expense. House is close to pretty much everything...we loved this. The only negative things we have to say about this house are: 1) The neighborhood is quite a mixture of houses. 2) If you have older guests in your party, just know there are lots of steps. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Galveston.

Excellent location and beautiful home
We had a great time. The home has all the comforts you would need for a great stay. The home owner thought of everything and provided it in the home. Beds were very comfortable. Our kids did not want to leave the home to go to the beach, they had so much fun in the pool and the game room. There is something in the home for everyone. The kitchen had high end appliances, and the outside chairs were very comfortable. The location of the house is near restaurants, beach and shopping. Our stay was absolutely perfect and the whole family had the best time. One helpful tip: if you have a small dog that can not climb stairs, bring a backpack carrier for the dog, so you can have your hand free to carry other things. Bringing a carrier was a huge help since our dog was too small to get up and down the stairs.

This house was absolutely perfect! So nice and clean, great spa and pool, loved the bbq pit! The kids had a blast downstairs on the hockey table, playing board games, and watching tv on the large tv! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

these guys have thought of it all, it’s a great house for a large family, or a group of adults! plenty of space so you don’t feel like you’re on top of one another. all of us mentioned many times that ‘we’d come back here with the kids!’
the only but, as many people have said, the pool not being heated, that was a bummer as we had some great pool days, but couldn’t use the pool.

Spring Break/Family get together
We had a great time at this property. It was perfect for our needs. The hot tub was great to have in March when the pool was too cold. The little kids loved the giant connect 4 game. The deck was a favorite. The kitchen/dining/living open concept was perfect for our large family. We also loved the basement game area.
The home is equipped with all of the daily necessities. The rooms and beds were comfy.
This is the most updated house in the block and perhaps the neighborhood. The neighborhood left a lot to be desired. Although the house is a walking distance (~5 blocks) from the beach, there are no side walks and the neighborhood is sort of run down.
Other than that, the house was great.
