Welcome to Sunset Sanctuary, a house designed to calm the mind and recharge the spirit! The wood stove fireplace is cozy, the sunsets are breathtaking and you may even see a whale! Gray Whales pass by during their migration and Pilot Whales live in the area year-round! The nearest beach access is just a block away. There is an access road that leads down to Preston Island. This is a rocky beach for the most part but there are sandy stretches for a pleasant walk with your pet (which we are happy to host!). Enjoy the majesty of the waves crashing against the nearby rocks and cliffs! The nearest swimming/surfing beach is Crescent Beach just about a 5-minute drive away! The patio is so private and relaxing. We wondered about only bathrooms and it was never an issue! We spent more time in this rental than out and about because it was so beautiful and the view from morning fog to evening sunset and midnight moon never disappointed!!

We had a great stay at Crescent City North. Very clean property with amazing views! Close to Redwood National Park. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The owner/host was very responsive and helpful with recommendations around the area.

We stayed in this beautiful house with our small dog and practically lived on the covered back porch. It was spring so not too warm yet but the porch is so protected we were just fine spending time out there. In fact we ate out there every night. The pictures don't lie - the view is incredible and the house is very cute and well set-up. The owner checked in with us a few times but the house had everything we needed and we'd love to come back!

Sunset Sanctuary is exactly as described. My wife and I spent 3 weeks there in Feb. '24. Loved watching the changing seas, whale watching from the deck or living room, and hiking in the Redwoods nearly every day. The location couldn't be better. Shawn was a great communicator and worked with me to accommodate a late change in booking dates due to a family emergency. Crescent City is one of our favorite locations and this was a perfect place to enjoy it. I hope to return again.

We (2 couples and one child) had a wonderful stay at Sunset Sanctuary! The home was clean and bright with amazing views from the living room and upper bedrooms. It was well furnished and comfortable. The porch was a perfect spot to rest and spot whales out of the wind. The wood stove kept it very cozy. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. We have stayed at several ocean front rentals in Crescent City over the years and are most likely to re-book this one with a group.

Our group of 11 had a wonderful stay. The veiw from the home is impressive to say the least. Short little walk dow to the beach to explore. Close to restaurants and the Redwoods. We would highly recommend staying to anyone. The host was very responsive and helpful. I hope we get to stay again someday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in March and the views were incredible! Communication was so easy with the owner and we made great memories! We felt so comfortable and the home is beautiful. I highly recommend his home!

Such a gorgeous view! The porch and deck were great for all of us to hang out and enjoy the evening. Really appreciated that we were able to bring our dog and the little additional touches to help out dog owners (bags and hose to wash paws).

This house was really cute & the covered outdoor deck was fabulous. The host sent a lot of information about the area and was very available during our visit. We only stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The personal attention and small touches makes this house a gem.

Loved the house! Nice big bedrooms. Two couches that folded out in the living so we all had plenty of space to sleep. Magnificent view of the ocean and a short walk or drive to the view that you can see from the house. The back porch has lots of seating and a gas grill too and of course this is a fantastic place to sit and visit while enjoying the look and sound of the ocean while it pounds on the rocks below!

That back deck is amazing and saved us from the rain while still enjoying the great ocean views. Shawn was very pleasant to work with. Everything was extra clean. Only downfall is that the beach is rocky and not great for walking on with kids and dogs.

What a picturesque and peaceful place to stay. Along with the obvious amazing view other benefits were … Internet worked great for my work video calls, the record player was a fun treat and communication with Shawn was helpful and easy. We look forward to going back.

This house is cute, comfortable and worth every penny! The pictures do not do the view on the back deck justice. The 2 upstairs bedrooms look out on the ocean as well. Waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing we more than we had hoped for. The house is older but clean and well maintained. The kitchen is decently stocked. Restaurants, shopping and the sights are all close. We spent an amazing day in the Redwoods and the rest of our time at the beach. We will definitely visit again!

We had a great stay here in Crescent City. Shawn was super attentive and helpful in helping us find the best spots for hiking, eating, and seeing the sights. Kids loved the house and the back deck was awesome for relaxing. Beds were comfy! Would definitely book here again

We stayed with friends and family and everyone had an incredible time. We loved watching sunsets from the deck and waking to ocean breezes and views in our rooms. The proximity to redwoods, rivers, and Oregon Caves can’t be beat. The home had everything we needed for a stress free vacation and Shawn was always quick to respond to questions. You won’t regret this rental!

The pictures online were accurate. The property was clean, well kept, nicely decorated and offered everything we needed for our group of 9. You can't beat the view of the ocean, and Crescent City was a perfect home base for exploring the Redwoods and Jedidiah State Park. Would highly recommend this property!

It worked out great for us, except it was portraited as handicap assessable. There was a ramp in the garage for easy access into the house, but the bathroom on the ground floor was unable to be used by my husband.. He can't walk and must remain in his chair at all times. The door into the second half of the bathroom, was too narrow and the sliding doors on the shower made it impossible for him to get in the shower. There was no picture of the bathroom in the listing. We should have ask for a picture, but knowing it was a master bath we assumed it was bigger. (usually is). The only thing I would do to change listing is make sure people are aware that handicapped just means a ramp nothing else. Thanks for letting us stay.

We had booked this place to explore the nearby Redwood national park. We loved the house’s proximity to the park and also it convenient location being closed to stores (short car drive). It was right next to the oceans and we enjoyed th water view from the living room and outdoor balcony. The beach was rocky and not accessible directly from property but was only a short walk. The house was well equipped and I would definitely consider staying here again if am back in crescent city.

The host and property were amazing! The host made check-in easy and communication was open throughout the stay. The property was clean, neat, and orderly. Amazing views of the ocean from both inside the house and back patio. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We visited the Mystery of Trees in Klamath during our stay which was about a 25 min drive. Overall, our stay at Sunset Sanctuary was a 10/10.
