About this apartment rental

Sunny, spacious duplex with incredible views. 2.5km to Megève center, 2km to ski lifts. In a renovated alpine farmhouse with the original beams and structure, the apartment has lots of character and charm, and is very cozy and comfortable. Modern amenities. Lots of closet and storage space for the guests. All rooms are large, beautifully designed and decorated, each with a great view. The house is set in a praised hamlet where the old farming traditions still subsist among deluxe chalets.

This sunny, spacious duplex offers incredible an-obstructed views of the Mont Blanc. Located in the highly praised hamlet of Vauvray, 2.5 km (less than 2 miles) from the center of Megève and from the ski lifts (a 35 minutes walking distance). This is one of the four apartments built in the farm I grew up in. The apartment’s entire top floor and master bedroom feature the original old farmhouse's exposed standing beams and beam ceilings and architectural details. The apartment’s varied volumes and spaces give it a lot of character and charm. It feels much bigger than its actual 120 m2, and is very comfortable and cozy. Facing East, West, and South, the apartment is filled with natural light and has great view from all sides. You will peacefully enjoy the sun and the beautiful views from the two balconies and the fully private terrace with its garden table and chairs.

You may enter from the private garage door or from your own entrance that is located up the stairs on the lower level balcony. The entrance opens to two bedrooms, a bathroom, the garage, and to the large staircase that leads upstairs to the open living room, dining room, and kitchen, and to a third bedroom.
The kitchen was recently renovated and is fully functional for any type use. It has plenty of cookware, dishware, glassware, and flatware for entertaining, plus fondue, raclette, and pierrade sets as well as a toaster, espresso machine, coffee filter machine, French press, fruit press, food processor, egg beater, blender.
The living room is equipped with a great sound system that runs throughout the top floor (except in the bedroom). The brand new contemporary wood stove adds a warm touch to the comfortable living room (we provide the wood).
There is also a mezzanine lofted above the living room, equipped with a big 42" (120 cm) flatscreen TV, and DVD player.
The master bedroom on the entrance floor has a high ceiling with exposed beam. The adjoining bathroom has two sinks, a bathtub, a shower and a toilet, and an attached walk-in closet. The other large bedroom on the entrance floor has a desk and a chair. The second bathroom has a sink, an Italian shower, a toilet, and a washer and dryer. The third bedroom on the top floor, very charming with the open beam roof ceiling, has a desk, a phone (via internet), and a printer-scanner. There is a half bath (toilet and sink) on the upper floor.
There is a balcony off the two bedrooms on the lower level, another balcony off the living room (facing the Mont Blanc and with views of Megève) and a spacious terrace (facing Megève) with a garden table and chairs on the top floor.

Megève is only 2.5km from the chalet but it is preferable to have a car (equipped for the snow during the winter season). Guests have a private exterior parking space for two cars. I keep a car in the garage, but there is a bit of room for you to store your equipment, and the garage door offers a practical way to enter the duplex.

The sheets, towels and dish cloths are included in the rental price.

There is a portable baby crib and a baby chair (attachable to the dinning table). Note: the apartment is not child proof.
