About this apartment rental
We're absolutely charmed by this Budapest apartment, which mixes clean Scandinavian design with a dash of old-world flair. The quaint balcony alone is worth the stay, showing off the rustling plane trees and picturesque St. Francis Church across the street. There's no better spot to savour a coffee or a glass of wine, watching as Budapest comes to life before you.
But don't let the antique tiles, high ceilings and vast windows fool you – this Budapest apartment may have oodles of character, but modern comforts abound. There's the sumptuous soaker tub in the main bedroom, the lavish rainfall shower in the bathroom and the high-spec kitchen, where cooking is anything but a chore. Add in the streaming on the flatscreen, Sony Bluetooth speaker and remote-controlled central heating and this pad is truly the picture of contemporary living.
Nestled by one of the greenest squares in the city, this district is a residential pocket home to young professionals, students and a bevvy of eateries. Cafes and restaurants are a dime a dozen, and the gorgeous Danube River is less than a five-minute walk away. Many of the must-see landmarks can be reached on foot – including St. Stephen's Basilica, Buda Castle and Central Market Hall – but if you're not up for a stroll, the 2, 4 and 6 tram lines are within easy reach, putting the whole city at your feet.
Home truths:
*The second bedroom is on the smaller side, so it's a better fit for one adult or two small children *A microwave oven can be made available on request *The bathtub is free-standing in the main bedroom, so it's not completely private *A car isn't necessary here – instead of driving, take advantage of Budapest's public transportation system or explore on foot *Although the windows are double-glazed and this area is on the quieter side, this flat is still in the middle of the city, so noise is to be expected
