The house was in an incredible location! It was amazing being within walking distance of the beach and all that Duck had to offer. All of our visit’s issues came from the house itself. From the concerning deck with nails popping out of every board, to malfunctioning wifi and trash left indoors by the cleaning crew, problems with the house started almost immediately. And, after a long day of traveling everyone was most looking forward to a good night’s rest. Unfortunately, we were stuck in a house with the nice, balmy climate of a swamp for the entire week with beds that you could feel every individual spring. Overall, we were lucky to be in a location that we did not want to stay in the house for long during the day, or we were relishing in the pool which was the saving grace of the trip!

Everything was good. The house was clean and spacious. If you have problems with stairs please don't get this one. My overall stay was great. It just went to fast.

It was nice to be a mile from the little town of Duck. Also, only a 10 minute walk down to the beach.

We loved the view! We stayed in the winter and enjoyed watching the weather change from the house. Great decks, kitchen was great, new pans, and family friendly furniture/puzzle area, etc. Our family is very lively and liked the hills, stairs, walk to beach (house is on sound side), and walk/bike into town (about 3/4 mile from town). The place was perfect for the price. It looks like the price is going up significantly 2023 which is unfortunate because we wanted to stay again next year.
Concerns:
Exterior and hall lights that we could not figure out how to turn off, no permits for our cars so we could not park in Ocean Crest lot near beach, no can opener, dryer did not seem to be working well, and did not have the code to use the tennis court. All expected and most easily solveable if VACASA (management company) was accessible. We called, Emailed, and sent texts and got no reply. Phone call was with an operator with a heavy accent, and was unable to communicate/understand solution.

This was a great beach rental for the price we paid for the whole week. It has a great personal pool and hot tub, and plenty of sleeping space for 14 people. It is kid friendly, however, the only part I would say to prepare for is to bring gates for all the stairs inside for your little ones. It is well stocked with kitchen things like pots and pans, but I would say the only downside were that many of the cooking knives were very dull, which made cooking a challenge at times. The only other recommendation I have for the owners would be to upgrade all the countertops to granite or another fine countertop, upgrade the appliances in the kitchen, and redo all the wood on all the decks. I do realize those are three big ticket items, but it could be done if done smartly (I ordered them in order of least expensive to most expensive). If those three things were done it would bring this house into the upper echelons of PERFECT rental houses. That being said, even if those upgrades didn't take place, we would still stay there again! I definitely recommend this house!

Our family of 11 adults and 3 children slept and played comfortably in this house and would gladly return. It was clean and well laid out, the provided linens were fresh and clean as well and the house was well stocked!! Extras of everything were in the closets (sheets, throws, towels). The kitchen was equipped with more than we could have hoped for (waffle maker, griddle, crock pot, blenders). Just wish we had know so we didn’t bring our own appliances. Even the pool had boogie boards, some pool noodles and beach chairs. It all came in handy. Location was ideal for us too- under 10 min walk to the beach (some parking IS available near beach too w/ house provided tag/pass) and a 5 minute drive into the Duck town center.
Only negatives, which were no surprise, were the number of steps to get into/out of the house and the “loudness” of house. Noises like our voices, laughter, music, drawers closing and moving kitchen chairs were very loud in the rooms adjoining or for the floor below the noise source, but no one seemed to mind. As for the steps, 2 of our guests were not in the best shape and had issues with the steps, but we knew that would be an obstacle when we booked it.
We all loved the house and had a great time.

We had the best time at this house. Because it is on a hill, the views are unparallel. We had several adults and several kids and there was more than enough space and everyone has their own bathroom! The kids had a blast in the pool and the beach was only a 5 minute walk away. Would highly recommend for a large group.

Stunning Ocean Views!
Wow, the pictures definitely don't reflect just how beautiful the views are from this house!! The sunrise over the ocean and sunsets over the sound were the highlight of our stay. We had some very windy, wet, and cold weather during our trip. So instead of hitting the beach, we used the hot tub, curled up by the fireplace, and played board games. The house is stocked with tons of board games, puzzles, kids toys, and even an old-school Nintendo that our boys couldn't get enough of! It's in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and quick drive or bike ride to downtown Duck. Super nice to be on the South Side of Duck, because it's a super quick trip to the bridge, Kitty Hawk, grocery stores, mini golf, etc. The house is huge and has tons of open space and different gathering areas. All of the bedrooms have their own bath. We had a small crew, but will definitely book for our next big group trip!
