The beach has soft white sand for children's play and a sandy walk out for swimming, rafting and all forms of water activities. The Coop was built as a family cottage. The Coop has an open concept living-dining room and is well equipped. Each of the 6 bedrooms has its own sink. There are three full bathrooms. The third downstairs bedroom is a queen bed, and the fourth bedroom downstairs has 2 twin beds. The family room has 2 twin day beds. There is plenty of sleeping room in the house for everyone! A large, long deck facing the lake provides lots of outdoor seating. The deck has lots of sun but also a pergola and umbrella tables for those wanting shade. The side deck is great for windy days from the north and using the gas grill. This is not a pet friendly property.
Close by is the North Ottawa Dunes Park and behind The Coop is Kitchell-Lindquist Dune preserve, both are perfect for running, hiking and exploring the dunes. Bike paths also line the roads. Whether stargazing at night or an after-dinner swim, nature is outside your door. The North Shore of Grand Haven has a beach atmosphere but quiet and private. You will get in touch with the rhythm of Lake Michigan, the sound of wind and waves and how the lake changes. The Coop is a perfect place for families to reconnect and build family memories.
Grand Haven is located on the shores of Lake Michigan. We are a quaint, little beach town recently named the "Happiest Seaside Town in America," by Coastal Living Magazine. Here, your family will find Grand Haven State Park, which was voted in the Top 10 Best Beaches in the world by Travel+Leisure Magazine. The boardwalk stretches one and a half miles, beginning at Chinook Pier and ending at the iconic red lighthouse. Historic, affordable, and amusing, the trolley is continually traveling throughout the waterfront and downtown areas dropping you off at any desired location. This property is located on the North Shore, where you can find North Beach Park just minutes away. At the end of the day, grab a blanket to sit on and head to the Waterfront Stadium where the whole family can enjoy the Musical Fountain. This synchronized lights, water, and music show has coined the title "World's Largest." This free show plays nightly at dusk throughout the summer. Lucky for you, all of this is just minutes away and waiting for you to revel in.

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. Just as described. Very clean. Great location!
The Coop is a very and “home-y” cute cottage that takes you back in time. Fun decor and vibrant colors. Kitchen is well stocked and easy to cook in. Nice amount of space for our party of 14. AND THE VIEW IS AMAZING! Great communication with owner/ rental agency. Easy check in and check out. Definitely will come back! Thanks to the people that make The Coop happen.

We gathered at the coop for a 90th birthday celebration for the family matriarch. Couldn’t have chosen a better place for it. The location, the view, steps away from the private beach on Lake Michigan, swimming in Lake Michigan and so much more !! We had a memorable vacation and I’m already thinking of reasons to return to this property.

Right on the beach. Water is super clear. Enough space for everyone to have their own room. Can’t recommend enough. We plan to be back

Incredibly pleased with the amount of sleeping space and layout of the home! The view of Lake Michigan from the deck and upper floor windows was the best. Well supplied kitchen, fun things to keep young and old entertained if/when not enjoying the beach, which was clean and just steps away. Love that the check in and checkout directions and expectations were simple and minimal. It is slightly dated, or “vintage”, as the more senior members of our group called it. The ONLY complaint was the couch and loveseat (matching pillows) that were encased in plastic-nothing a soft blanket couldn’t help with. Would definitely consider another stay here!

It was for my out of state family and they enjoyed the accommodations and the location.

The Coop was the perfect fit for aging mobility impaired great grandparents, first floor had everything they needed plus a comfortable view of beach from the deck. The rest of us enjoyed all the cute 70s themed bedrooms on the lower level and our own bathroom, plenty of space for baby all. Listening to the waves at night was just perfect to end each day. This great space allowed for quality time with family from NC, NY and MI. The baby took his first steps in the Coop!

Everything was absolutely perfect! The cottage was adorable, the communication with Lake Michigan cottages was phenomenal. The nicest people to work with.
It doesn’t get much better than sitting in a comfy chair watching the freighters go by, the beautiful sunsets, the large private beach, the comfy bed, well-stocked kitchen, and the deck to dine on. We will definitely be back! Very hard to leave this property after a fabulous week. Thank you so much for the incredible memories!!!

Property was even more impressive than shown in the pictures. Clean, well organized, and had plenty of supplies for our long weekend.
Communication before and during arrival was excellent. Clear instructions and easy access.
Great deck area that allows a direct walkout to the beach and excellent views of the sunset.
Multiple bedrooms enabled our extended family to join for the stay. If we return to the area, we would d consider this a top spot!
