About this house rental

Summary:
A quaint cottage ideally located in an enviable location just on the door step of Parker's Piece, in a recognizable & historical location in the city centre. Please be aware that the property's back is onto a pub garden and therefore it can be a bit noisy at night at the weekends.

We offer an allocated OFF-SITE FREE PARKING SPACE for 1 vehicle approximately 5-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the property. Please note that we provide a parking permit for 1 vehicle only.

The Space:
A warm and cosy cottage that has been recently renovated. The central heating is controlled by a portable thermostat so you can adjust the temperature to suit your needs.
The entrance vestibule leads directly into the sitting room where there are wooden floor and a steep staircase off to the first floor. Through the sitting room there is a separate kitchen/breakfast room fitted with modern units and appliances. The big kitchen window overlooks the rear of the property. A rear lobby has a cloakroom and an external access door to the courtyard, ideal for late summer evening drinks. A narrow spiral style staircase from the sitting room leads to the 1st floor where there are two double bedrooms. With 1 modern bathroom and a separate toilet room.

A member of the House of Luchini will always be available to answer queries and help. Booking with us gives you access to discounts and/or freebies at local cafés and attraction!

The Neighborhood:
The property is adjacent Regent Street and in close proximity to Gonville Place, on a 'no thorough road'. It is in walking distance of the train station and City centre with a variety of Restaurants and bars along Regent Street.

Mill Road is only a 5 minutes walk away with many independent shops and Restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste.

Property backs onto a pub garden and therefore it can be a little noisy at the weekends

Getting Around:
The property is right in the City centre so we recommend walking around or if you want to feel like a true 'Cantabrigian', hiring a bicycle.

Quaint cottage sums it up perfectly. The little courtyard sun trap was a real bonus. The cottage is comfortable and convenient and the hosts were happy to attend to any need. Cambridge is beautiful with a real vibe of ernest progress, we really enjoyed our stay.

As noted in title the location and price were great. Things that could be improved are as follows: 1. Check-in process: We had a car, and we followed the instructions on what to do. We were also proactive to ask about instructions (in advance) in an attempt to make the car parking situation straightforward. This process involved picking up a (very small) parking permit and placing it in our car. The small parking permit was to be left on the counter. It was not on the counter so we had no idea what to do with our car (as we didn’t want to get a violation). There was then an emergency line to call, we called, but we got no answer (seems odd to have a 24/7 line only to have no one there to answer). So it was a pretty stressful 1-2 hours after we arrived at ~20:00 pretty tired. 2. The cleanliness of the property was mediocre at best. Examples include: a. Toilet on upper level was not working and we had to mess with it to get it to work b. The plunger (by the toilet) was incredibly dirty and gross c. The bed sheets and floor were generally dirty with hair and dirt. It is clear the place hasn’t been deep cleaned in a while. Livable but pretty poor cleanliness compared to the other VRBOs we stayed in SE England. Once we were able to get a hold of management they were very helpful. And as noted before the location and price were AWESOME. Place just needs a deep clean and improved check-in logistics (whether that is pictures, or someone on hand to help in event of a car).

Nice little house in walking distance to the town center, right next to a green. The house appears as recently renovated and is very attended to. The service from the agency is excellent. Rooms and kitchen are well equipped, for our particular case - staying for 2,5 weeks and traveling with two small children - a few additional items in the kitchen would have been nice.

Clean, comfortable, powerful heating during cold weather, centrally located between station and city center.

This is the perfect spot for 2-4 people. Apartment is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. Communication with the staff is excellent. We had no problem with the pub next door, but we are city dwellers and used to street noise (but there was really none). Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful experience at the cottage. A lovely park right across the street. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants and bars. We would absolutely rent again and highly recommend to a family with older children or a couple.
