About this house rental
Set right by the beach in Broughty Ferry, Castle Beach is a 3 storey Victorian villa of immense character. ‘The Ferry’ is on the East Coast of Scotland, on the outskirts of Dundee. It is a historic fishing village with numerous well established restaurants, shops and bars. In the days when Dundee was famous for jute, Broughty Ferry housed the millionaire barons and still has a reputation today for being the wealthy part of the city.
Broughty Ferry esplanade is a lovely walk. Along the beachfront you will find a Broughty castle to explore as well as several parks/green spaces and a nature reserve. Water sports are popular too with lessons available. There are plenty of spots to watch the dolphins and a boat trip if you’d like to get closer.
The house itself sits facing one of the tree filled public gardens with stunning views across the North Sea to Fife.
Castle Terrace is a 5 minute stroll to the centre of The Ferry and a 15 second saunter to the sandy beach. It has plenty of period features with ornate cornicing in the main open plan family room and in one of the two master bedrooms. There is a sweeping staircase that turns from the ground floor right up to the attic conversion which is now a huge bedroom with it’s own ensuite bathroom. The views from the upper level are remarkable. One one side they scan across the beach. On the other they look above the rooftops of the village.
The property contains
Open plan living/kitchen/dining with woodburner
Master Bedroom 1 (superking bed, working open fireplace, window seat with river views)
Master Bedroom 2 (kingsize bed, double sofa bed, ensuite 4 piece bathroom with freestanding tub)
Bedroom 3 (split level mezzanine sleeping 2 in a double on the upper level with an additional single bed beneath)
Bedroom 4 (woodland styled room with single bed and additional trundle bed to make a twin)
Bedroom 5 (a smaller room to the back of the house – single bed)
Master Bathroom (another room with stunning views, a double size bathtub and separate shower enclosure)
Snug/Study (a haven for working from home with working fireplace)
Cloakroom (plenty of space to hide coats and shoes within cupboards)
WC (wallpapered with a historic map of Dundee just before Castle Terrace was built)
Front and rear gardens – the rear with built in brick barbeque, feature seating and table and outdoor shower)
Garage for storage
There is a plentiful selection of games, DVDs and subscription to Netflix. There is also a piano in the hallway which guests are welcome to enjoy.
Broughty Ferry is the perfect spot for a Scottish holiday. St Andrews is just a 20 minute car journey and the capital Edinburgh is an hour away. A variety of other beauty spots like Glencoe are potentials for day trips.
Welcome to Castle Terrace & have a fantastic stay!

A really bright and beautiful home, perfect location for the heart of the Ferry, right by the beach, spacious so would suit a big group.
Would love to see a proper coffee machine and a music system provided, just felt it was lacking a few extra special touches!

Our house was lovely. The location was 2 min from the beach at the most. A playground and castle one block away. Just wonderful!

This is a great property in a fantastic location. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a large property for family and friends. My only issue was the fight every night between the kids as to who got to sleep on the top bunk!

Our stay here was an absolute dream. Every window was a view from a novel. Impeccably decorated, immaculately clean, fully supplied kitchen, wonderful linens, updated everything. The amazing beach is across the street,

Castle Beach was the perfect stay for our family. The location was absolutely perfect, and the house truly felt like home for us. We could easily walk to everything, with both the beach and restaurants being a short stroll. We loved our time at Castle Beach and Broughty Ferry!

The Castle Beach was very comfortable for all of us! It was within walking distance of everything we needed. Great pubs, the beach, shopping and beautiful sight seeing. Broughty Ferry was charming and so was the the house!!

The house was fabulous, spotless, lots of space and so much character. A real home from home everything you need and more. We would definitely stay again.
Lots of lovely individual shops, beach, plenty places to eat out something for everyone and so close to Dundee, St Andrews etc

What a great find! A lovely, 3 storey villa which has plenty room for a large party of friends! If it’s free and suits your needs, definitely book without hesitation.
2 things however, the toaster only worked on one side (not a major issue) and what with it being a cold, early March break, the house took a while to heat up (maybe it had been empty for a bit before our arrival), maybe a bigger stock of logs to burn would have made all the difference!

Well, this lovely place couldn’t have been more perfect for our family. Steps from the beach and from a lovely playground, the house was well appointed and comfortable. We walked up to the M&S food shop and stopped at the local butcher on the way back. Broughty Ferry is such a cute little town! Would definitely recommend.

Perfect location!
Lovely big house.
No big issues/complaints.
(Felt could benefit from an additional shower. Garden lights weren’t working) We will still be very happy to return.

Lovely stay, we were all "oldies" so would've preferred a physical folder with instructions but we got there checking our emails 😀

A fantastic property, out the front door and you’re at a spotless, beautiful beach. Head out the back door and you’re on the Main Street that has everything you need. The house is stunning, well thought out and beautifully finished. Parking is no bother. Honestly it was brilliant.
