Our family of five enjoyed our 4 night ski vacation in this warm & homey cabin with truly gorgeous snowy views of the woods & creek. Lots of character and personal touches! All windows have working shades for privacy. The listing is accurate, and the amenities and appliances were functioning well during our stay. We were able to cook many meals in the well stocked kitchen, use the laundry, hang up wet ski clothing to dry on the well placed hooks, and restfully enjoy a movie around the TV. Much of the cookware is old & worn but usable. Beds were quite firm as noted in another review. Two had some cushion top and were comfortable after the first night, but the third was just hard, so sleep wasn’t as sound in this bed. Towels, bedding, bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. Bedrooms seemed dusty around the edges and window sills had some dead flies. Could use a more regular deep clean for highest rating. We did not have good response with some questions sent to the property managers, Vacasa, prior to our arrival. They kept apologizing for high email volume and never did answer all of our questions. Overall, we would enjoy staying here again, and definitely would if a bit less dusty, cookware updated, and beds made more comfy.

We loved the view out of the back of the home. It is conveniently located near the slopes. The house was generally well provisioned. It had plenty of space for the 5 of us. The heat and the thermostat had a mind of it’s own. Cold the first night (69) no matter what we set the temp to, very hot the next day (83), cold the next night (68). We appreciated that the owner provided lots of fire wood, but the fireplace generated very little heat. We discovered space heaters on our own. The help line seemed to know nothing of them… Oven did not work, thankfully the cooktop did. All of us felt the mattresses were too hard and unconventional.

Scheduling issues screwed us over.
The property we had reserved for spring break was triple booked to 3 groups. I was informed 6 days before our trip that we couldn't stay there, but I was out of the country and couldn't be reached. My wife was not allowed to make any decisions or changes to help the situation. The day before we were to rent the home, I spend 2 1/2 hours on the phone trying to figure out the situation. Eventually, the corporate resolutions team informed me everything was now O.K. and that we were ready to go. I had this confirmation by email and text. It was wrong. At 8:10 am the next morning, 50 minutes before we were leaving Colorado, we were told the reservation was off. There were no comparable homes in the same location, and at that point the only home left that was close could no longer be booked for that day. Apparently, you can't book a rental the same day you want to stay there. We had to cancel our reservations at Taos Ski Valley because we had no place to stay. I don't blame the homeowner for any of this, but VRBO screwed up big time, lied to us about the situation, then couldn't provide the other home as a consolation. Needless to say, we were (and still are) furious! This is the 2nd time we have tried for a spring break trip in Taos and VRBO has messed it up twice. Thanks a lot!

Stay and Ski
We stayed a few nights at this property and used it for our base camp for a couple of days skiing at Taos Ski Valley. It is nice a close to the resort with out paying resort prices. We loved the river right off the back deck and the house layout. Fit out family of four with one adult friend very easily. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to cook. I will stay here again if available.

Great Location
Great property. Very near the base of the Ski Mountain. The house is extremely well fitted-out. The HVAC and fireplace controls are a tad wonky but not a reason to not stay there. I would book it again.

We loved this place
This place was perfect for us. The home just won us over from the moment we walked through the door. It is super comfortable with great light and really usable space. The kitchen was well equipped and the views of the creek and forest made for a wonderful place to hang out.

Great Property, Unfortunate Circumstances
The property, location and on-site property manager were great. Totally beautiful. What wasn't so great was the booking process and leaving early.
First, I tried to book the property and the website said, "not available." So, I kept moving and booked another property. Later that evening I was informed I had booked the property. I tried to cancel due to the fact I booked another place. Turnkey would not budge even though it was their fault. Thank goodness the other property was reasonable and let me cancel.
Second, I had a family emergency (death in the family) that forced me to leave early. The on-site property manager was great. Turnkey, not so much. When I called to see if there was anything I could get any consideration I was read "section 9" in the contract. I understand I signed a contract. I understand they have to protect their interest. But at least they could have acknowledge they screwed up initially and the fact I had a family emergency...but...nothing.
So...while I will come back to the area I will not book a property that is managed by Turnkey Property Management.

Excellent Location
Just a few minutes drive to the hill. Shuttles were closed due to Covid so we were able to shuttle our kids back and forth all day no problem because it was so close.

Wonderful home. Perfect location.
We hoped this house would be good as the photos looked great, but it was so much better! Wonderful, beautifully built home with outstanding views from the huge windows at the back. Very short drive to the ski lifts. Very well equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels. Beautiful log fire place. We were warm, comfortable and relaxed. Thank you

Rating Details:The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.I was very happy with the location.I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.Reviewer Comments:The location is, as advertised, convenient to the slopes. It is an older structure on the main highway to the Taos Ski Basin. It smells of smoke because the fireplace emits smoke even with the glass door closed and flu open. We did not use the fireplace after the first night because the smoke irritated nose and throat. Jackets left hanging still smell of smoke. If you do use the fireplace, you need to chop you own wood. No cable or satellite TV service, and the Roku device did not work when we were there. Some of the kitchen pans and utensils needed to be cleaned before use. The management company offered to send someone to clean the kitchen, but we did the needful because of concern about covid exposure. A prior guest had left a note saying that the outdoor garbage "closet" was snowed-in and not accessible, and it remained so. The local rep paid a visit and showed us another outdoor garbage container, but it was full. The rep came because the advertised espresso machine seemed to be missing; he found it in a broom closet. We left a day early.
