We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was exactly what we expected and more. We will definitely be staying here again. It was quiet, spacious, and absolutely beautiful especially in the morning when the sun rises.

This rental was perfect for our family reunion vacation! With all the separate bedrooms and bathrooms that we all had the our own space. The common areas were great for the kids and the adults. Two stoves, ovens and dishwashers for a family of 12 was so helpful. Remember this is a mid-century home with character, up grades, beautiful grounds and a great location. So thankful to the family that allowed us the use of their home!

The home was the perfect setting to bring our family together to celebrate our parent's 60th wedding anniversary. It is conveniently located to all attractions, but ultra quiet on 3 waterfront acres. The ages of our group spanned 80 years, and we were all extremely comfortable. We started and ended each day outside on the covered patio. The very large dining table was used a lot for family meals and games. The pool table, card table and extra large tvs were also a plus and allowed all of us to interact in smaller groups while still being together. The house is very large and comfortable. The baby slept very well, even when we were all laughing together while playing games. For those who like to walk/run, the greenway by the river is super nice and conveniently located for easy access. Having 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, and 2 large refrigerators came in really handy for our group of cooks (we ate in the entire week). Plenty of bedrooms/beds and more than enough bathrooms. The views from every window are super relaxing. Plenty of parking. We are already planning and looking forward to a repeat week ASAP!

Our family loved this house. Very convenient because it was close to anything you wanted to do. Our grandchild loved the yard with basketball court. We had a pickleball tournament, went fishing, walking. The beds were comfortable. Lots of room to spread out. Would love to stay here again

This house was great! The basketball/pickel ball court kept the kids busy as well as the pool table and hot tub! Pack your fishing pole! Kids fished for hours! Adults enjoyed the outdoor space and propane fire place.
Kitchen is spacious and the extra fridge in laundry area was key for all our drinks. One thing we found odd was that there was only 1 kitchen washcloth and 1 hand towel. Due to the frequency of hot tub use and showering, we had to wash towels daily. There wasn't any designated hot tub towels. Bunk room had a funky odor, but our boys didn't notice. All the beds were fantastic!
Location is great! However, if you are doing food delivery, make sure they know you are not at apartments!
Overall we are very happy with our stay! Thank you!

The property was very clean & well stocked, with ample room for everyone to spread out, but also enough seating to be in a room together if desired. We had a devotional and singing in the dining room every night & it sounded so pretty in there. The kitchen & laundry room is especially well appointed & we loved that they had a regular coffee pot AND a Keurig Coffee Maker - both were used daily! A huge "thank you" to the owner!

We were thrilled with this property. It had everything we needed and plenty of room for everyone. We will definitely book this one again.

We enjoyed this beautiful house, we had enough space for a group of seventeen people. We only had an issue with hot water due to a strong smell coming out of faucets, we reported to the manager and I hope the fixed it for future visitors. Out of that issue, our stay was phenomenal, very nice and peaceful environment. I recommend this property.

The open design is wonderful. Lots of space- rooms are large and comfortable. The beds slept great. Lots of privacy in in each. We had a snorer and in another room a newborn- no one heard a thing all night! The house is easy to get to and close to town- so shopping, attractions, and even food delivery is very easy. It is in a neighborhood-so not isolated, but it is quiet. The driveway is long- no traffic to worry about going by the house. The outdoor sitting and bonfire are lovely. The basketball was a surprise. The hot tub was not clean so we did not access it -note it is not hidden so is visible by all neighbors.
The kitchen was large and well stocked in glasses and dishes. There was a coffee maker and a k-cup maker, a microwave oven, and two refrigerators. We did not find a crock pot, but pots and pans were available. The washer/dryer are large and easy to use. Most rooms had their own thermostats. The internet worked well and the tvs had some sort of cable access but we all had our own Roku boxes to make traveling easier for us. Linens were well stocked; as were blankets and even an extra fan and a pack n play for babies. The view of the sunset and sun rise can be seen from almost every single room.
The game/movie room was fun for all ages.
The only complaint was the cleaning service could have been more thorough.
Communication was wonderful and responses quick- we would book again.

Spacious, private, and overall great property.
There was 11 of us in this beautiful home for 7 days. Information was gathered from them to compile this review.
Pros: Photos on listing are accurate. The home very spacious with many opportunities for privacy. Beds were very comfortable. Decor and furnishings were nice. Great kitchen appliances with tons of refrigerator/freezer space. The outdoor area was very nice. We enjoyed watching folks fishing in the pond. Location was slightly hidden at first, but very easily accessible and not far from lots of stuff to do. I personally stayed in the master bedroom and it was phenomenal. The game room was great - we loved the pinball machine. The massive dining room table was perfect for our big family.
Cons: No book with information about the home, instructions, recommendations, etc. Although, this was a relief to an extent, it does make for a nice welcome and clear expectations. The welcome bag had 2 waters and snacks for only 2 people. There was a lack of towels and washcloths, so we had to do laundry several times that week. We had a severe lack of dish towels and there were no pot holders - that was remedied mid week. There was only one sorta usable skillet, very minimal dish detergent, dish washer detergent. Basic cleaning supplies would have been nice. At the price we paid - which was A LOT, we feel like these are things that should have been provided. The ceiling in the first bedroom to the left had some damage to it, and was an eye sore (this is in the wood paneled room). The two bedrooms off the kitchen had very smelly water, but good water pressure. The other rooms water was OK, but water pressure was lacking. The tub off the game room would not hold water for a bath and was challenging to shut off. The home was mostly clean, however, all window sills in the long hall had debris. There was a lamp in the pool table room that was covered with webs to the walls and lots of spiders on it. This made a few of us pretty squeamish - nobody wanted to sit near it. There was lots of goose poop walking to and from the gazebo and in the gazebo. This cannot be prevented, but a nozzle on the water hose would have been helpful so we could have cleaned it off.
With all of this being said, we did thoroughly enjoy our stay at the House of the Rising Sun. Would recommend better attention to detail for future guests - this will make all the difference in the world. It would have made a difference to us.
