About this house rental
This spacious three-story home accommodates larger group gatherings for year-round activities with plenty of parking for cars & ATV trailers*.
With views of the mountains and Detroit Lake this 2,500 SF home has three bedrooms and a large private loft-suite as the fourth bedroom. Home has central heat, A/C, Wi-Fi and excellent cellular service.
The main floor has fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 8, and living area stocked with family games, puzzles, 55" smart-TV, and DVD player. The lower floor has two bedrooms, full bathroom, and washer & dryer. The loft-suite includes a small living area, smart-TV, 2 queen beds, and twin trundle bed. Outdoors, we have camp chairs, fire pit w/wood, BBQ grill, holey board set, water toys, and frisbees for outside play.
Detroit offers year-round activities including boating, fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, snowmobiling, biking, ATVing, or just a relaxing getaway. The house is .8 miles to Detroit Lake, 17.5 miles to Breitenbush Hot Springs, 36 miles to Hoodoo Ski area, 56 miles to Sisters.
Important Notes: Our home is a non-smoking home inside, with smoking allowed only outdoors at least 10 feet from the house. We welcome animals. Please inform us in advance so we can make necessary arrangements for your stay.

The location is really beautiful. Mornings on the front deck with coffee watching the sun on the mountains is really relaxing and refreshing. Everything was as good as can be in a rental property. Would definitely recommend this property to everyone. I hope we get to visit again sometime. Thanks to the host for great communication.

Had a mini-family reunion on the lake. The house was lovely and everyone had a great time. The only very slight negatives were no bathroom upstairs for the loft and the outdoor grill was only half-working. But overall 5 stars!! Would definitely stay again!

The property is nice, but has lots of stairs. Some up to porch, some inside to main level. Showers are very small. Many extra thoughtful items for renters. The biggest problem was the lack of shade outside. The only shade was the small porch and the temperatures were between 90 and 100. I will say the ac worked very well. The other big factor was the lack of a bathroom on the second floor. If all these things were addressed the house would be perfect. I understand that the owners have not owned the property for very long, and in talking to the owner, they are still working on it.

We had a great time staying here. There is plenty of room and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The house has games and toys for everyone with fun lake activities nearby.
The only thing I’d note is that if you have a large group, be sure to bring extra paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags which can be purchased at the little store in Detroit in a pinch.

The space was very comfortable, everyone had their own area as well as a common area. A lot of stairs, if you have kids who are crawling, bring baby gates. The main area has 2 stairway entrances. The amenities were awesome and if we had questions or issues the owner was very good at responding to messages within an hour. Parking space was awesome for 3 vehicles and a big boat trailer. More could have fit there. The floors could have been a little cleaner for being a shoeless house, but not bad. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely do it again!

Our last stay at this home was so great that it was an easy decision to re-book when we returned to the area for more work this spring. The home was just as pleasant as the last time, and we are looking forward to returning again next month! An absolute must book if you are in the area - even if you aren't, maybe you should be! Detroit is a lovely town.

The house served our needs perfectly and had plenty of room for our group of 4 adults. There were lots of thoughtful, personal touches throughout the house, and communication with the host was excellent. It really felt like staying in a HOME - and a cozy one at that! The location is great, super close to the lake and downtown, with a really nice view. We will be back for sure and would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the Detroit area.

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay at this charming cabin within 2 miles from Detroit Lake. You can actually see the lake since the house is on a slightly elevated area. Nancy (owner) was very prompt in her responses, very approachable, kind and generous. We couldn't have found a better place to spend two nights away from home. We highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone wishing to relax and enjoy Detroit Lake!

This house is amazing. The house was SO clean, and nicely furnished/decorated. There were indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces for all. The location is fantastic; it is less than a mile to the marina and just across the highway from main street and the local store. Our large group had a wonderful time, and I would definitely stay at this house again.

Chris & Nancy’s property is absolutely clean and stylish. Communicate with them was superb before, during, and after our stay. Home has all the items you need, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, room for your lake toys with ample parking. House has an open main floor layout including a large dining table that was perfect for our board gaming! Plenty of space for our family & friends as we could spread out over the three floors. The location is minutes to Detroit Lake & grocery store. We had a great day at the lake with an easy drive back to the house.

Family getaway.
House was just what we were looking for and was described as so. It was well stocked with cooking supplies for homecooked meals after spending the day on the lake. It was very comfortable formy husband, myself and two sons. We will be back.

Hilltop Haven
This couldn't have worked out better. We have an annual tradition to camp at Detroit lake. Been doing it for years. This year we couldn't really pull off the tent and go with the new littles.
We were able to get moorage for our boats and with this hilltop beauty so close... it made for the picture perfect reunion with cousins.
I can't rave enough. The appliances are pretty cool and 3 rack oven was AMAZING for our group of 12-16.
The AC works a little too well, not a real complaint after an entire day on the lake with sun soaked babies, it was a nice retreat.
This property was really well stocked too. It was awesome to have some spices and pan spray. Made my life easier.
Last but not least. That dining room table. Seats 8 comfortably and room for a few more seats to scoot in. We served all pur meals and played so many games.

Great weekend get away
The place was great, nice and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed in it. We got a couple of snow showers while we were there. The windows were great to see the snow falling.
Beds were very comfortable.
