"Great location. The house was perfectly clean in every detail, towels and linens too. It was 90F+ in Illinois, but this cottage right by Lake Michigan was comfortable even without AC (I like the old school vibe). There were enough fans as needed, and the house is tucked in a nice dune valley among the trees so it doesn't get pounded by sunlight to make it hot. The kitchen was fantastic, plenty of room to hang out and play games, back porch to come in from the beach, wash off, and ditch your beach stuff. Just a very short walk to the fantastic Grand Haven beach, and a short drive, or bike ride to town. Communication from the management was always quick and accurate. Thank you!"

"Good communication from Unsalted Vacations. House was well equipped and clean. Clear instructions for check in/ check out. Charming old cottage in a historic neighborhood. Worked well for our family of 8. Really enjoyed the screened porch. Easy walk to the beach. Was cool at night with the fans on. We enjoyed our time there."

"We had a great stay! We walked to the beach and spent lovely long days on the beach. The sunsets a block away were beautiful. The town was also within walking distance so we spent time there as well. The house was open and spacious and good for our group to gather."

We truly enjoyed the quirky charm of the cottage. Very comfortable with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable with great pillows and bedding. Loved the deer outside our window, short walk or drive to the lake. Lack of sound privacy didn’t bother us, but maybe would others.

There were many things we loved about this cottage: short walk to the beach, sunset lookout, close to the heart of town, the 'great room' feel of the first floor with its private spaces in the TV room and the dining area and bar. However, the humidity will eventually ruin this place. It really needs some window AC units to cut down the humidity as it gets very little breeze because of its location in the dunes. At the very least every bedroom needs ceiling fan, and there should be more on the first floor as well.
Secondly, the window sills were disgustingly dirty. They could have been wiped clean at the beginning of the season or between rentals.
Hope some comfort improvements can be made as this is a great cottage.

Great place with lots of space for everyone. Nice amenities. Biggest downside is opening/closing doors is very loud and the walls are very thin here. Short distance to the beach.

Very nice lake cabin. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. There is no air conditioning or furnace, which is listed, but it did get cold at night and warm during the day. There are some space heaters and plenty of fans which helped.
Also, just fyi, you can hear everything within the cabin! It was fine, but if you want privacy from your other guests, it will be hard.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and recommend this lake cabin.

Quiet location, yet close to everything. Clean and adequately stocked for a quick beach retreat with the girls. Worried about no AC, but the shade and breezes kept the house very comfortable.

The house is in a great location. Beach access was so easy. We also walked to downtown and the boardwalk.
House was clean and as pictured. Furniture was comfortable including the beds.
Plenty of fans were provided. Only drawback was that the windows were pretty hard to open in some cases and there were some loose / torn screens.

Charming oldB
We loved the charm of the house. It’s definitely an old beach cottage but has been nicely updated. Good location, just a short walk down the hill to the beach which is beautiful. We had read a review before booking which stated you can hear everything thru the walls and floors and you absolutely can. This was a family trip for us so that wasn’t really a problem. We just made sure to be quieter after grandkids went to bed. Review also stated that there was no AC. We sent a message regarding this and were told that there was AC. Well thank goodness we didn’t need it because there wasn’t. Unfortunately there was no heat either. Our first night there the temp inside the house got down to 58. I called the management company for a couple of issues, the heat being one of them and their reply was that there is no AC so there is no heat either. They did bring room heaters the following day but that was a little too late. The other issue we had was the lock in the front door was not working. The house was unlocked when we arrived Saturday afternoon. We just assumed they left it open for us since I had called to see if we could get in a half hour early but that request was denied. (They have very strict rules about check in and check out times.). Im sure it’s challenging to get a lock repaired on a Saturday afternoon but if you have guests 24/7 you need to accommodate important issues such as not being able to lock the front door. Communication wasn’t their strongest suit either. I had to call and call again to find out when the lock would be fixed. I was assured they would fix early the next morning. Not quite sure what time they came because we got tired of waiting for them so ventured out into town having to leave the house unlocked. We were not going to waste our short time there sitting around d waiting. I never receive a call or text but when we got back Sunday evening the lock was fixed and the heaters were left in the living room. We did enjoy our stay inspire of the couple of issues. Will definitely go back to grand haven but probably will not stay at this property. Am hoping some form of refund will be given for our inconveniences.

Cottage Vibe
The cottage was in a great location walking distance of the lake. There were about 3-4 spots for you to park. The cottage was older but was renovated nice. Something to keep in mind, you are in close quarters of everyone and you can hear mostly everything throughout the house. There was also no air conditioning and the windows on the main floor did not have screens for us to open. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this cottage.

Beach get away
Cottage clean, well equipped (tho we all thought it strange that we were asked to bring coffee filters for standard electric coffee maker!); great location - quiet, short easy walk to public beach, not far from town. Great place to put up our feet and relax.
