About this house rental
Basecamp Denver is a 2 BR 1BA flat with its own private entrance perfect to see the city and enjoy the mountains! This is in the lower level of our home that was converted to serve as basecamp for your CO adventures! Do note we live upstairs and just had a baby in May 2024 so you may run into us relaxing in the backyard or garage, but always respect your space/stay. We provide sound machines in the rooms at the opposite end of the house, but want to be fully upfront about the situation. Red Rocks, Golden, Denver, Idaho Springs, and Evergreen are local hotspots in our backyard. Colorado Springs, Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Breckenridge are all a day trip away.
The home is a traditional bi-level home like many of the houses in Lakewood. The lower level flat includes 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom with great shower pressure and hot water, a living room with a huge comfy couch, a Smart TV, a washer & dryer, a dining area, and a kitchenette with Instant Pot, conventional oven/air fryer (see photo), mini fridge, Keurig with coffee provided, and a gas grill outside. There are a ton of great restaurants nearby as well that are fantastic for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. We have the perfect set up for those who are ready to grab and go for their next adventure!
In addition to the kitchenette, our backyard has a natural gas BBQ grill and patio area. We do request that you let us know if you plan to use the grill. There is a small sink in the laundry room for washing dishes. You may also enjoy the market lights, fire pit, and darts in the yard for those wanting to enjoy a morning or evening outside. If you are traveling with an infant or toddler let us know in advance so we can set up the pack 'n' play for you in advance.
Our home is very centrally located, making it easy to get around town - especially via public transit!
It is just a 10 minute walk to and from Oak Station which brings you straight from Downtown Denver Union Station (via the W line that leaves frequently) and a bus system to take you around town. Guests appreciate the proximity and often take the W line to and from downtown.
Uber is available and a main go-to if you're not renting a car. Many guests love to take a short Uber to venues like Red Rocks and Pepsi Center/Ball Arena (each about 5 miles away). If you do have a car, we have one space available in the driveway and plenty of street parking.
PLEASE NOTE: The hosts (Cassie & Scott), their daughter Nori (born May 2024), and their cat, Eos, live in the upper level of the property. The upstairs is a totally separate space, and we rarely see our guests unless we're outside enjoying the backyard or in the garage. There also may be times when we need to access the washer/dryer, but always communicate this with our guests as needed. We are happy to interact, or just say a quick hello - either way we are always respectful of your stay. As the home was built in the 1960's, you may hear some creaky floors or possibly Nori as she is brand new, but we certainly try to be respectful of quiet times (10pm - 7am) and only ask that you do the same :).

Nice clean property with basic amenities including a/c, wifi, washer/dryer, big screen tv. Perfect for short-term sight-seeing base, especially if Red Rocks is your main destination. Oddities: no sink in kitchenette area; no way to lock interior door in basement apartment; no handrail on stairs.

Base Camp Denver was the perfect central location for our family. We had access to college visits downtown, big city errands (we traveled from a very small town) and a show at Red Rocks. We appreciate the 11am check-out, since we didn’t get back from the show until close to midnight.

My son (who lives in Denver) and I enjoyed our stay, and it was perfectly located for us....an easy drive to Red Rocks, where we enjoyed a concert! And plenty of restaurants in the area. We couldn't have asked for better hosts, and the vrbo was well stocked with anything we may have needed. Would definitely stay again if in the area, and would highly recommend.

Nice quiet neighborhood. Comfortable bed. Accurate listing. Everything we needed for our two nights we stayed in Denver area. I did miss the email the morning of check out with the instructions that would may be my only suggestion is to have that posted somewhere in the downstairs. Thanks for letting us stay!

Our family really enjoyed this cute and cozy base camp! It had a great kitchenette, and the backyard with lights was a huge hit for my husband and I.
Cassie was great at communicating checkin and house rules and very quick to respond to any questions.
Our kids loved it so much that they asked if we could go back next year and I definitely plan on it.

Property was perfect for me and my teenage boys. We were in town for a baseball tournament and could not have asked for a better stay. Tried something different than the regular hotel stays and Base Camp was a great choice. Close to Coors Field to watch the Rockies play and 20 minutes from river rafting in Golden, CO.

My husband and I flew out to Denver for a concert at Red Rocks and some other little adventures and this location provided everything we needed for our 4-night stay! The place was well stocked, clean, private, and easy to enter. The location couldn't have been more perfect for how close we were to our concert venue, white water rafting, and hiking. We would definitely stay again!
