Upon arrival, was met by Ben and his partner who expressed sorrow for the mediate issues we were met with and worked with us to try to resolve them, honestly they are great, Ben's dad the owner seemed a nice guy too.
Parking was good. Unfortunately that is all we can say that was good.
Upon arrival, we were told cabin 2 that we booked had a blocked toilet so was unavailable eventhou we'd spoken to the owner not long before leaving and wasn't informed of this issue.
We had spoken to the owner before booking as my wife has a hyper sensitivity to noise and this is our reason for booking here, we were told it would be quiet, so with our cabin unavailable, we were offered barn5 which was larger but unfortunately the barn and therefore the bedroom is situated right next to the road/entrance so no good to us, their son ben plunged and cleaned the toilet for cabin 2 but we later found our feet/socks soaked from the soaking wet toilet water soiled floor mat in the bathroom.
During our stay, we found it extremely cold all night even with the provided heater up full blast, gaps around the door that didn't help, we had to use their provided towel as a draught excluder which made zero difference.
Provided TV was useless as no channel was stable owing to the Ariel not set properly and the built in dvd didn't work either so as well as no WiFi there or TV we were super bored our whole stay. 23.55 an argument bloke out that I feel was at the owners house or somewhere around there, we could hear a female voice raised that woke us up and we couldn't then settle the rest of the night because of my wife's noise issue.
There's no hot water from the kitchen or bathroom taps, only from the shower which isn't massively powerful, no hand soap either so after a poo you can't wash your hands. Once morning came, we were just honestly relieved to be leaving but then the toilet blocked again but after a pee so not sure what was wrong with it.

Good location for me to explore.
Main concern was the lack of cleaness.

Remote and peaceful
Was great value for money. A very cute little cabin. Exactly what it said on the tin. Bed was a bit rickety but all in all it was a lovely stay. Local tandoori delivered great food too!

Walking the Pilgrims Way so was handy being close to the route

The site was lovely and they are still finishing the fishpond, and landscaping,
None of this affected our stay.
It was clean and tidy inside Vigo retreat no2.
Great value and ideal for a weekend away.
There's was a misunderstanding about a change over on the Saturday but an email sorted this issue.
Only a small window allows light into the main room. We were lucky with the weather and were able to keep the door open.
5.0
location, we were at a party in the holiday inn about 10 mins down the road
no mugs for tea, no extra blanket for bed (chilly),

Lovely little cabin, very comfortable and cosy. Nice surroundings.
Needs more cutlery perhaps and there is a bit of a gap by the front door at the top so it did get a bit drafty.

lovely cabin, out of the way. Couldn’t find it to begin with but the host was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Had tv, mini fridge, microwave, 2 plate stove no pans tho, kettle, radiator.
nothing really had a lovely stay. only disappointment was I booked for it being out the way and said breakfast included and in reviews previous guests had breakfast hampers which I never received. I did contact the host and he said it had changed over from Sumer to winter season.

Nothing. This accommodation isn't fit for animals
The host was non existent and uncontactable. You had to find your own cabin with no instructions The venue looked as though it was abandoned:: overgrown waste land with a putrid pond and a dumped horse box next to the so called Cabins. The wooden box I had booked was cold with no windows and just one ill-fitting door with a 2 inch bolt for security. One towel was stained, everything was damp. The toilet door was dirty, there was no hot water, the toilet seat wasn't fixed properly, the shower tray was full of cold water, the shower fixing was broken with a manky piece of soap behind an exposed pipe. The crockery was wet, the floor was cold with a breeze from under the door and the TV remote was sticky.
I didn't sleep as I was scared for my safety and couldn't as the constant road noise was incredible.
This venue needs to be inspected by health and safety as it is not fit for purpose.

Really friendly. Explained where we were and how the lodge is set up.will be looking to stay again.
The heating was a small oil filled radiator which heated the lodge very quickly and stayed warm during the night.
Breakfast was cereals, eggs toast and marmalde which was in the cabin for us, also kettle with tea and coffee.
Bed was comfortable and the nights were quiet and great sky views without light pollution.
It is literally 5 minutes drive to brands hatch so a great base for that.

Great place to stay
Nothing exactly what it says on the tin

great location - comfy bed, good shower
breakfast was ‘self service’ - ie we made it ourselves! and not really enough for the two nights we stayed. suspected wasps nest outside which created noise all night.

Exactly what I wanted. I had a trailer with me and it was perfect as could park right outside.
