We love the house and location - very comfortable and peaceful!

My husband, 2 adult children, and I spent a wonderful week in this cozy house. The water view from the deck never got old and we loved being able to launch a kayak from the back of the house. The kitchen is well stocked and everything was in good working order. The outdoor shower (the Taj Mahal) is one of the nicest I've seen. The location is private but convenient to beaches, the bike trail, restaurants, and shopping. I especially appreciated the owners' responsiveness -- they replied to questions and minor issues that came up within minutes. All in all, a great property.

Fantastic week on Tides End Lane. Close to beaches and right on Meeting House Pond. The back deck gave us a perfect view of seals, boats, and scenery. We enjoyed the kayak, grilling, and exploring.

My husband and two young kids had a great stay here! The house is in our favorite section of Orleans and is easily accessible to restaurants, town, and great beaches. Indira was very easy to communicate with. Being so close to the water, there were some ants in one of the bedrooms and Indira sent an exterminator right away. The best part of the house by far is the back deck annd gorgeous water views. We never got sick of it ! Overall we had a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house - the house is clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The setting is beautiful - on a very quiet street, and backing up to a pond. We watched the rabbits, birds - and seals from the back deck. Absolutely loved it and would recommend.

Tides End is beautiful
The view out back from the deck cannot be beat! Peaceful doesn’t say enough. Watching for the seal that come into the cove to visit every day is a wonderful way to pass time!

A wonderful place to stay!
I can’t say enough good things about our rental. The house was lovely, clean, looked freshly painted. Everything was first class! The view was amazing and restful. My daughter and I looked at over 100 rentals before choosing this one and it was everything we wished for. The views are so lovely and it’s close to the town of Orleans.

Gorgeous! Our family can't wait to stay here again!
Our family had a wonderful stay at this property. The owners were very responsive and helpful. The actual location is amazing. The seals bobbing about and the swans swimming by were a relaxing site to see off the back deck. If you get beautiful weather you can enjoy the back deck all day long- if not - it is centrally located to other great spots on the cape. We hope to make this an annual tradition and this property will be our first choice for next year!

Relax with a gorgeous view
Great place to hang out on the deck to relax and enjoy Cape Cod waterways. Seals, osprey, boats entering and exiting the marina, swimming and fun right at your doorstep. Nauset beach a close drive and lots of good walking in the area. Great low key hangout.

Great location, awesome deck
Clean and Comfortable property in a great location. Sitting on deck and watching the wildlife is so relaxing. Close to beautiful beaches, delicious seafood available in grocery stores and restaurants, places nearby for bike rentals (lots of bike paths) - or go out on a boat to fish or whale watch. Great place to clear your head and reconnect with nature.

Very enjoyable
Great accommodations. Excellent location. The seals would pop up in front of the house every day. They also appeared next to the paddle board we rented. We saw fish jumping there too. Plenty of room for everyone and the patio is a very nice relaxing touch.

Fabulous house; can't wait to go back!!!
Our family loved this house! it was just what we had hoped for. From almost every room, we had wonderful water views. We watched the boats, the kayakers, the birds and the seals all day long. The huge deck, with lots of comfortable chairs, was a wonderful spot for coffee in the early morning, and then wine and cheese as the sun set. There was a nice, new grill, which worked well. The furniture in the house was comfortable and the kitchen was very well-equipped. The owners left beach chairs and toys for our use so we didn't have to bring them from home. The WIFI worked perfectly, which is so important in this digital age.The outdoor shower was great! The owners were responsive when we had any questions. We look forward to going back next summer!!

Gorgeous location with front seat views of harbor seals and osprey
The home is airy and bright with comfortable beds. The outdoor shower is heavenly. The deck and location is what makes this home outstanding.

Wonderful spot on saltwater pond
We had a great vacation here. The view off the deck was spectacular, with seals popping up out of the water and all kinds of birds flying through, particularly at dusk. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our family; the outdoor shower was a particular treat. The location is great-- tucked away on a small road in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to both Nauset and Skaket beaches and everything in town. We'd love to come back.

Great location, Lacking in Amenities
The location is terrific. It is less than 5 minutes to drive to Nauset Beach and a 12 minute drive to Skaket Beach. The owners are responsive. The view off of the back porch is great over the lake. We never heard or saw the neighbors. The outdoor shower was terrific. Unfortunately, there are some things you need to know before you book:
There is no permissible access to the dock and no river access without having to walk through tall grass. We thought the deck would be usable. As a result, we did not go into the river.
Every rental we have used for 10 years has provided a beach parking pass. Not this property. It's not a lot of money, but I would have assumed that it would be included. Maybe Orleans does not allow it.
When we arrived at the house, there was no laundry detergent, no paper towels, no hand towels, and, even though we knew we had to bring our own towels and sheets and blankets and pillows, we did not expect to have to bring all of these things. Other houses that cost less money had them included.
We saw the cleaning crew go into the house. I'm not sure what my cleaning charge paid for. There was still coffee stains on the floor and the room upstairs did not smell clean at all. There were spiders and bugs, including ants. The couch smelled. Again, I know it's the Cape, but for this money... I have spent less and received more.
We were not allowed in until 4, but we had to be out by 9:30 am. That's a long time to clean.
None of the rooms had overhead lights, except the kitchen.
We knew there was no central air, so that's not an issue, but some of the Window ACs were low or out of freon and didn't cool the room.
Master bed shakes and squeaks.
The front door was broken and unusable.
I know the purpose is not to watch TV, but they only have the most basic of cable with only network channels - no NESN (no Red Sox) and the only way to access non-network tv (Netflix) was through an HDMI cord.
Again, based on comparable houses, I would not have expected these issues. I wish I had known. We had a great trip and great weather. We just wished the house had more to offer. Sorry

Great spot, good house!
We had a great time at this pretty spot! The house is laid out well and has all the amenities we wanted, but the real draw is the view off of the spacious back deck. The pond (really, the end point of Pleasant Bay) is beautiful at all hours and draws seals up from the ocean, herons, and hawks -- and we kayaked almost every day right from the back yard. It is definitely on our list for our next Cape vacation.

Relaxation at Tides End
Picture Perfect vacation home. My family of 5 (3 teens) enjoyed our week long stay here in August 2015. What was important to us was to have a water view, and this certainly fit the bill. It is so calming to sit morning with our coffee, or in the afternoon with a glass of wine. We brought our kayaks and we easily could go off two at a time for an outing. It was fun to explore! The house had all the comforts of home, and is nicely decorated. We explored the Cape, since it was our first time, and went to a different beach each day. This home was a perfect fit for us!

fabulous views, location, meticulous home
A beautifully maintained home in the most serene setting, right on the pond with a porch to spend time gazing at the scenery and wildlife in and around the pond. great outdoor shower, rooms are spacious and cheery, kitchen is clean and pretty. washing dishes in the sink (even though there is a dishwasher) is a pleasure because the window right above the sink affords you a beautiful view. Centrally located in Orleans and wonderfully close to two of the best beaches on the Cape; Nauset Beach (with daily seal sightings and great waves) and the quieter Skaket Beach (whose low tide goes out for at least a mile creating a mile of shallow, calm water with sand bars). We had a great time. Thanks!

Beautiful home in a stunning location!
This is a beautiful home on a peaceful property with water views. From the deck you can observe lots of wildlife including seals, cranes and loads of songbirds. The home is bright and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen and 3 showers (one outdoor - which is all you need!). Good working air conditioning window units are helpful for humid evenings. The home is also conveniently located within a short drive to the public beach and good restaurants. It is also a good neighborhood for morning or evening walks. If you walk to end of Barley Neck you can walk along the shoreline! For the technology dependent, the wi-fi works wonderfully, even with multiple users...but it's best to enjoy the great outdoors here!

Beautiful location. Clean, comfortable home.
The home was well represented in the listing; very clean and bright. We were lucky enough to enjoy perfect weather and took full advantage of the large deck and access to the water. We brought kayaks and a small sailboat. The kids rented a stand up paddle board and we spent a lot of time enjoying the water. For those that have young kids it might not be ideal; is a steep staircase down to the water and no sandy beach, but for our teenagers, it was perfect.
The house is a quick car ride to the beach or town. We biked to the little market and ice cream shop. Loved the proximity to good restaurants. We had lobster's steamed for us in town and enjoyed our feast on the back deck. If it was an extremely hot week, the deck is not shaded, but there are lots of trees in the yard and we moved our chairs during the heat of the day.
The house is a classic Cape and not huge, but the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Everyone's favorite part of the house was the outdoor shower!
The owners of the house had everything perfect for our arrival...it is well equipped with a gas grill, lots of dishes and cooking pots and pans. We appreciated Indira's quick response to questions we had before we arrived.
We would definitely love to rent this house again. My only hesitation in raving about Meetinghouse Pond and the house is that we would like have it be our little secret!

Fabulous Cape House
Our family of four has been a guest at this beautiful Cape home. It is very comfortable with a wonderful updated kitchen and great decorating. The deck overlooking the large cove is huge and the view is captivating. Ocean and freshwater beaches are just minutes away. Fishing, restaurants and shopping are by as well, yet the location is secluded and very private.
The listing was accurate and the owners were easy to work with. We hope to return this year.

BEST Beach house, location,ammenities
To the Christie family,
Thank you for a great week here at your lovely home! We appreciate all the effort you two make to make your guests feel so comfortable and welcome. The extra added touches...the beautiful plates which we used when enjoying our meals on the deck which overlooks pleasant bay, the gas grill, adirondak chairs and table, the hydrangea flowers and the awesome outdoor shower are just some of the special touches that truly separtate this vacation home from any others.
Skaket beach and Nauset are so close to the house that we usually went to one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. We caught fiddler, hermit and sand crabs at Skaket and rode the waves at Nauset. The boys (and their Dad) loved it. We also enjoyed riding bikes on the rail trail from Harwich to Eastham and shopping in Orleans. THe house was immaculate ( which is important to me!) in everyway. THe bathrooms are like new, although we used the outdoor shower everyday! Our family is looking forward to returning for a couple of weeks this year!!!!

Awesome in East Orleans!
My family has stayed at this wonderful waterfront home a few times now, and each visit has been more memorable than the last. It's situated close to everything (beaches, restaurants, boating, shopping) yet feels far removed from it all. The inside is furnished far better than any home that I've rented in the area as well. Simply perfect!
