About this apartment rental
Enjoy one of the beautifully few beachfront colored Venetian beach houses in Capitola. Our beach house can accommodate up to 6 guests. While you are here, be sure to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand out your front door, and don’t miss the shopping and dining all within walking distance. This condo has a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer.
While you are here, BBQ on the beach to the sounds of the crashing waves and listen to the music of the Fog Bank Restaurant band playing from across the lagoon. Stroll to the village for homemade ice cream at the Polar Bear Ice Cream Parlor or drinks on the deck at Margaritaville. Rent a boat at the wharf and fish all day, or just stroll on down to the end and check out the view.
Surfing is walking to the local and Capitola Jetty about a 5 minute walk across the beach. Paddle boarding both in the Soquel creek, and the ocean for paddle surfing is avaialable with direct beach access both up and down the coast.
In the morning, drop by Mr. Toots Coffee house for your AM pick-me-up. Then wander over to Zelda’s for a tasty breakfast. Make sure you walk off your delicious meal by browsing the many wonderful shops in the Capitola Village. Be sure to check out the Rainbow City Limits Store and the Craft Gallery.
This condo has been in the Watson family for many years. It is affectionately called Mouse House because when Virginia Watson first saw it, she said it was small enough for a mouse to live in. But with the beach as your “family room” and the ocean your playground, it’s plenty big enough to hold some of your fondest family memories.

Great stay for last weekend of Summer

We’ve stayed at the Mouse House many times and always enjoy our time! It’s a perfect spot on the sand. We will be back!

We loved our stay in the “mouse house”! The house was fully stocked with everything you could think of. Ultimately the best family vacation spot if you have littles! When they say the beach is your living room, it truly is. There’s nothing like cooking dinner and watching your kiddos play in the sand.

This is our 4th year in a row staying at this amazing property. Once again, it did not disappoint. It's perfect for our family of four and there is nothing like waking up and going to bed on the beach. 5 star property and location all the way around.

Great family vacation on the beach. Unit came with everything we needed, and the host was responsive to our needs. Unit is about one block to Capitola Village. Had a great time. Would definitely do it again.

Everything was great. Loved the room. No problem finding a parking spot a few blocks away. However, did leave a bean bag style ice pack in the freezer and was wondering how to get that back. Do you have a lost and found?

So relaxing. My husband does not like the beach. So it was perfect. He could still enjoy the grandkids on the beach and stay in the house and watch tv if he wanted. The kids and grand kids stayed up the road so we were able to keep all the beach stuff at our place so they didn’t have to haul it down everyday. It was just a wonderful trip and very comfortable place to stay. Will return again!

Staying in one of the Capitola Venetian Cottages was just as great as I always dreamed it would be. While the Mouse House is small it was all we needed for our family of 4. The communication was great, the property was great. There were 2 things I wanted to give people a heads up on as I didn’t realize them and wasn’t prepared. These aren’t a reason not to stay here, but you should know before booking.
#1. The unit comes with a parking permit, but does not come with a parking place. We kind of illegally parked while we loaded and unloaded the car then searched for parking permit space, but really you have to park up the hill in the community lot a few min walk away, Normal Capitola visits you can walk anywhere, but getting the car is a bit of a pain. On the plus side, the unit came with a wagon to walk your stuff from the car to the unit. No problem for an average person, but if you have limited mobility, that could be a problem.
#2 It seemed like the twin bunk beds were shorter than a normal twin. I didn’t measure and don’t know for sure, but my 5’2” daughter said her feet hung off the end. If you had a 6’ son or thought an adult could sleep in the bunks that might not work. Although one night my younger slept with me in the big bed and my hubby slept in the bunk ok.
Anyways, wish we could have stayed longer.

Parking was very challenging but that’s pretty understandable in June in a beach town. The unit was adorable and we enjoyed our stay.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE & VIEW BUT W/THE CURRENT PARKING ISSUE DUE TO PIER REPAIRS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND PARKING NEAR THE FACILITY. BOTH NEIGHBORS ARE NOSEY...SUPER CREEPY FEELING! COMMUNICATIONS FROM PROPERTY MGR WAS NOT HELPFUL.

We absolutely LOVED the “Mouse House”! Best location ever, if you want to be near the beach. The home was actually bigger than we expected so needless to say all 5 of us were thrilled! Anything you might need, besides food of course, is in the home. There was even a wagon in the closet that was oh so very helpful when moving our stuff from the car. Check-in and out was so easy! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thank you “Mouse House” for the amazing memories!

Third year in a row at this property and it never disappoints. Property manager is great to communicate with and incredibly sponsor. Comes with all the needed amenities, including a washer and dryer. It’s very small but that doesn’t bother us at all because all the time is spent outside. Location couldn’t be more perfect. My kids have made incredible memories here and we hope to continue to make many more as part of an annual vacation. Nothing negative to say at all.

It's all about the location, there is nothing like staying right on the beach! The place is tidy and efficient, a bit crowded with 6 guests, lovely for a couple or couple with kids. Though small, it's one of our favorite houses in the world.

Our 3rd Thanksgiving at the property and we couldn’t love it any more. Open the doors to the beach and let the kids play while the adults cook and enjoy the view. The house has all the kitchen amenities you need and the house is well kept. Perfect.

We have absolutely fallen in love with this mouse house. Being able to wake up to the ocean and watch the waves and the birds with our 2 year old was magical. The place was very clean and very well stalked. As much as we try to avoid doing laundry on vacation having stayed for an entire week with a toddler and having a washing machine was a lifesaver. The owners/ managers were super responsive. They followed up with me to make sure we had everything we needed to check in and were so helpful even after as we left some belongings behind. We would absolutely love to stay here again! Just make sure to read all parking signs- we were there during a festival and had our car towed as we missed some temporary signs that were put up.
