About this apartment rental
Unwind, relax and re-charge at this private oasis only a block from Lake Allatoona, where you can dock your boat, jet ski or kayak during your stay. Enter your completely self-contained 1,000 sq ft terrace-level suite through a separate entrance to a dog-friendly fenced yard where you can grill out, enjoy the fire pit, relax on the hammock, or lounge on the covered patio. You’ll love the natural setting of this professionally landscaped sanctuary surrounded by an abundance of birds and wildlife.
This spacious, lower level one-bedroom apartment, with plenty of parking, offers a private bedroom with queen bed and a 46” flat-screen TV, large living area with a 50” flat-screen TV, seating for four on a plush full-size sofa sleeper and a leather chair-and-a-half recliner, and a desk and dinner table for four. Prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen, grill out on the patio, or drive to nearby restaurants. Upscale Towne Lake is only ten minutes away with a wide variety of outstanding restaurants and shopping or drive twenty minutes to historic downtown Woodstock with its quaint shops, great cuisine and numerous entertainment options. Many of our quests enjoy shopping at The Outlet Shoppes in Woodstock, only thirty minutes away, featuring 87 stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren and Ghirardelli Chocolate, just to mention a few. Lake Escape is situated in north Metro Atlanta, less than an hour from downtown Atlanta, Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and the lovely North Georgia Mountains. And, we are 17 miles from LakePoint Sports Complex - about a 20 minute drive.
Swim, boat and fish in one of Georgia’s top-ranked lakes from our private two-story dock which can accommodate your boat, jet ski or kayak. Know that the dock is not adjacent to the property. It is five houses down the street and a short work through the woods. Play a game of cornhole in the yard, or on rainy days, play cards or a game of chess/Chinese checkers, watch one of the dozens of movies in our DVD and video library, or cuddle up with a book from the bookcase. A spacious desk allows you to comfortably keep in touch with work or post photos of your trip on Facebook.
This is a very unique lake getaway in a special neighborhood, “The Victoria Cottages,” a secluded golf cart community. Only a couple minutes down the road from Victoria Park is a large sandy beach, picnic area and four boat ramps to launch your boat, or eat at the Sunset Grille overlooking the tranquil water while taking in a beautiful sunset on their large deck. Only a few miles away, you can rent a boat at the Little River Marina. But please drive slowly through the neighborhood because the area is populated with “domestic deer” that roam throughout the community at liberty and with no fear. The Cottages is the first "cottage" area from the inception of Lake Allatoona in the '50's. It has narrow streets and is safe to walk or bike anytime of day.
Be aware that the water level of the lake is lowered in the winter by the Corps of Engineers, so the dock may or may not be accessible. Lake Escape is a great getaway to share with someone special during the fall and winter months as well, enjoying the firepit, staring up at the stars from the hammock, or just catching up on your favorite TV programs and movies.
Know that we live in the upper level and please note this is NOT a party or large get-together property. This retreat is a great place for a family, couples and a few friends to enjoy the water and outdoors peacefully. We are not looking for large groups whose true intent is to "party" at the house or for large family or friend get-togethers. This apartment is not suited for more than 4 people. Guests can have a few guests for day visits only. Only two vehicles and a trailer are allowed. Additional vehicles must be approved by us. Even though we have a good natural buffer of mature trees around the property, we want to respect our neighbors, so we enforce an outdoor quiet time after 11:00 PM. We welcome a limit of two well-behaved and crate trained dogs to join you during your stay ($75 per week pet fee applied).
As proud new owners and gracious hosts of Lake Escape, we want our guests to know we try to provide every possible convenience. As frequent vacation renters we are aware of what is important to our guests. We’re making a special effort to exceed our visitor’s expectations with special touches that we continue to add. Our goal is to create a wonderful, memorable experience, one that you will cherish forever so you’ll want to return year after year! We encourage our guests to make comments and suggestions in the guestbook so we can continue to improve the Lake Escape experience!

Lake Escape
Thank you for a wonderful stay. My son played at Lakepoint and your place was PERFECT for us. Well appointed, cozy and only 20 min from ballpark, we couldn’t have asked for a better place/experience. Everything was exactly as stated in the description and the only surprises were positive (literally had EVERYTHING we needed). Thank you again and we look forward to visiting again when we are back for another tourney!!

Stayed here with my son who was playing at Lakepoint for a baseball tournament. Many of the games over the week are spread all over northwest Atlanta and this place with a great central location for all of them. The owners were very gracious and kind with our traveling in and being delayed. They were very responsive and willing to help with anything needed while we were there. The weather was terrible (obviously not the fault of the owners), but they did have a large number of movies to watch. It was very comfortable and is a nice hidden little place. Would definitely stay there again.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We were in town for my son’s baseball tournament and didn’t want to spend the week couped up in a tiny hotel room.
Susan and Robb were amazing host. Apartment was supplied with everything you would need during your stay!
The lake is breathtaking and dock is beautiful.

I’ve stayed at many VRBO and this was my least favorite. It takes a lot for me to give a mediocre review but I can’t give this one 5 stars. Due to snarky text after we left and late night texts to go and deal with various things because they were “always watching” were annoying. For example, a hammock in the rain should not be a big deal. If you don’t want people to use the hammock or are that worried about it getting wet in an afternoon evening rain shower please just don’t put it out. The hammock would have easily dried in the sun the next day but they kept texting until we went out in the rain in the night and put it under the covered patio. Another negative was we got eaten alive by mosquitoes and we had OFF. So owner might want to get that sprayed. Also make sure you know that there is no lake view from the house and it’s a walk down the road if you want to go. The worst part for me was the constant early and very late loud footsteps. You will definitely hear their walking and their dogs walking. The pullout bed was absolutely not comfortable and we all fought for who would have to sleep on it. Soo if none of that bothers you, everything else was perfect. Some positives were they were right there if you need them. The deck that we walked to was very nice and the view was beautiful. They had a great and welcoming set up for us and our dog. Coffee, plates, bowls, toiletries, games, space to stretch out inside. They had a beautiful set up outside with fire pit and porch.

Very peaceful, quiet stay. Private area, great amenities, corn hole, fire pit, dock access, kayaks. 100% recommended.

Upon booking, I was slightly concerned about staying in someone's home while they were present due to privacy however, when i arrived at the property, all of my concerns were dismissed. The "apartment" is absolutely beautiful and is surrounded by a private yard space equipped with patio furniture, a grill and fire pit. It is beautifully landscaped and maintained.
Inside the B&B was very clean and again, very well maintained. The property was cozy and welcoming and supplied with everything a person might need.
The only negative is not having more time to enjoy the space and lake as I was in town for business and had to report to my office during regular business hours. Overall, we had a beautiful stay and my dog enjoyed the outdoor space.

Our stay here was amazing and restful. Every detail, both large and small were well thought out. I’d recommend this place to anyone I know.

We enjoyed a 3-week stay at this lovely property. We had everything we needed to make ourselves at home including a well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and closet space. The patio area and yard are beautiful and we especially enjoyed the space on sunny mornings. November is a quieter month on the lake, perfect for our fishing kayaks that we were able to leave on the dock. I worked remotely a few days and the internet connectivity was great. The hosts, Susan and Robb, are gracious and accommodating. We have family in the area and look forward to another stay at this property.

We found this to be a very nice and quiet place to recover from daily business. Still there is lots to do in the surroundings. Susan and Rob have been very kind hosts. We enjoyed kayaking into the evening sun. All in all, an unexpected positive experience.

This was a well-furnished first-floor apartment with modern decor. There is a nice fenced in backyard area. All areas were clean. Short walk to a floating dock with water access.

My son and I were in town for a week long baseball event and needed a place that had room at a good value. Susan’s place nailed it! Great location, perfect ammenities and an enjoyable dock on the lake. Thank you Susan for everything and when back in town, we will make every attempt to stay again. God bless!

This property was just what we needed each evening after playing/watching baseball at Lakepoint. Sitting outside listening to and watching the birds was so peaceful. And the short walk to the dock and floating in the lake was so relaxing!

In town for a baseball tournament which brings excitement but having a place to unwind and rest is just as important. ‘Lake Escape’ was just that-the perfect place where our family could unwind after a day at the park. Just a block off the lake allowed for that cool lake breeze to refresh us as the adults leisured on the porch reading while the kids played cornhole. Conveniently located to Lakepoint, Marietta, Woodstock, Kennesaw, we didn’t lack for good eats, and parks to explore. Susan and Robb are awesome hosts and communicators and even left a few pup treats for our doggos! If you have time, opt in for some lake kayaking that can be facilitated by your hosts. Would highly recommend for small families with or without dogs for that time to unwind. Thanks again Susan and Robb for a wonderful stay!

The place is in a great location. The neighborhood is peaceful and the back yard is amazing. My son loved spending his free time fishing from the dock. The hosts are wonderful and we enjoyed having conversations with them. We will definitely book again if we travel to Georgia. The Mitchell Family

My dog and I spent a week at Susan and Robb’s apartment while house hunting and it was the perfect place to be our home base. The yard is beautifully landscaped with bird feeders that attract lots of birds. It was fun sitting outside watching the daily bird show! We also saw deer in the neighbors yard. My dog loved their fenced in yard. The apartment has everything you could want with a comfy bed, couch, reclining loveseat and walk in shower. The place was spotless. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to enjoy the lakeside dock and kayaks they offer to guests but we did enjoy the beautiful sunsets at the Sunset Grille which is only a few blocks away. Thank you Susan and Robb for sharing your home with us!

My Husband and I enjoyed having a place like home to stay in. We spent our first day at museums in Atlanta and the rest of our stay was spent at the Lake Escape. We enjoyed a private backyard full of wildlife, the friendly neighbors and hanging out at the dock. There is so much to do! Susan and Robb take pride in their rental. Everything was perfect and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies for making our meals. Thank you both for your hospitality. The community was so amazing, that we may purchase real estate on Lake Altoona in the future so we can stay much longer and retire while having fun. This spot is a 5 star in our book!

Our stay was amazing. The apartment had everything we needed. Full kitchen and washer & dryer. Plenty of spices, flour, olive oil, vinegar etc. The bed was very comfortable and the whole apartment was decorated to perfection. it was adorable. The private backyard for the apartment was beautiful and had a double bird feeder, and we saw lots of birds we had never seen before. Their private dock was a short walk from the property, 5 houses down and a walkway to Allatoona lake. It was fantastic to sit on the dock overlooking the lake.
Susan & Rob were amazing hosts, giving us tips on where to dine and what to see on our first trip to Georgia.
Thank you so much 😊

We were able to make ourselves quickly at home in this nicely appointed apartment. Loved the toiletries which definitely came in handy for the items I forgot. It is located in the charming and eclectic Victoria Cottages neighborhood. We saw many deer and even 3 foxes on our walks. The dogs loved the fenced in yard and covered patio area. The owners were very hospitable and attentive. We lived here for a week while having our floors replaced. This property was absolutely perfect for our needs.

The property owners were super nice, they paid attention to every detail, and they created a space you'll fall in love with at first sight. We literally felt like we were in a 5- star Casita near the lake.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for his birthday weekend to go fishing. The scenery was exquisite and very peaceful. It's both far enough and close enough to the city, restaurants, and shopping locations.
Choose this place! You won't be disappointed!

We stayed here while our grandson played in a baseball tournament nearby. The unit was very comfortable, quiet, fully equipped and convenient. The owner was very responsive to questions and very pleasant to talk with. The outside seating is great, the temp was low enough to use it two evenings (our stay was the middle of July). We loved the area as it felt resorty. Would highly recommend.

Great place to relax
We enjoyed be away from the city but close to where we needed to be. It was an easy drive to Atlanta to go to Georgia Aquarium and Battery and Six Flags. We picked the place because of it's location to LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson for a week long baseball tournament. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed and more. Having the option to be on the lake and swim was a bonus. Definitely would stay again if we were in the area. Extra bonus was th fenced in yard for our dog!
