Access checking in out of hours was easy. The location was good. Room was very clean and the quality of towels and bedding was very good.
Nothing I didn’t like, however a suggestion or two
Water was in a bottle, only enough for one drink, either a second bottle or bigger bottle would have been better. A second chair in the room in case we had decided to watch some tv
4.5
Easy to park and get into
Clean tidy and good towels
Heating was controllable and windows that opened
Breakfast and coffee were excellent and just downstairs

I enjoyed the village style location. Two pubs in close vicinity plus an indian not far away, gave excellent suggestions for an evening meal. The room (attic) was pleasant and comfortable but really ideal for an elderly gentleman.
Breakfast had several choices. Parking was just outside.
I did keep banging my head on the low parts of the ceiling. I couldn't get the television to work, but it was not that important.

Lovely rooms, well maintained, very comfy bed
Rooms were freezing cold. Although rooms are available heating doesn't come on till about 5.30 and even then the radiators are not even warm.to.touch

I loved the ambience & the ladies we met at the property.
Not a thing !

The location and decor great !
Just the main lights on the wall in our room were not in keeping with rest of room which was great - but this is us being picky

Lovely location & very clean looked after rooms
The bed is comfy, but I would not say a deluxe king since it was two together. Although the bed was still a nice sleep :)

Breakfast not available until 9 on Sunday would be fine if it was 9... Waiting a long time because sandwiches were being made for a post wedding event affected delivery. That's because breakfast is in the ground floor coffee shop.

I loved the cottage-like feel in the room with the low down beams, was very cosy and snug.
Everything in the room needed updating. The units had their day. The teapot was awful! And it was such a tiny sink in the small bathroom that you had to re-fill the kettle with a smaller glass and that took ages to fill! The mattresses was also uncomfortable and could tell it had seen it’s day! The room just needed some TLC and a little update. As it was a really nice room! Just not the best of facilities.
And when we first arrived, we were told the cafe would still be open to collect our keys…but the cafe was shut and we hadn’t been informed of this and wasn’t instructed on where our key safe was etc…so I rang them and they then instructed me where the sage was and what our code was. We stayed for 2 nights and the 1st morning we went down for our breakfast, the lady asked for our keys and if we could pay for our stay!? So I said, we are staying another night and she had to go check the books where she didn’t believe me. So the staff and service was also awful!

Breakfast was fine
The room and bed are good - however, if you are sensitive to noise the any room at the front will be noisy. Traffic noise and if its sunny people sitting outside the pub.
I asked for a quiet room - I would of rather had the owner phone me and say 'i don't think our B+B is appropriate and cancel my booking' instead I turn up and was told 'no-one has ever complained about the noise'.
You will need ear plugs unless your a deep sleeper or deaf - owners can do simple changes to improve this for customers - hardwood shutters/ heavy curtains

Breakfast very good, wide choice and pleasant staff. Location very convenient in pleasant village.
There was no daily service of the room. Room was at the top of the building and although a reasonable size the website should point out the low beams which were difficult to avoid at times. The sink in the bathroom was very tiny with a hot tap which was loose. As the basin was so small it was impossible to fill up the kettle without using a numerous cups of water. When in use the shower head would not stay in position and when water power turned off the head fell to the floor of the shower onto feet. Good supply of towels but nowhere to hang them to dry. Website states that there is 'free parking available on site' however this is not strictly correct as parking is on a public road or a pub car park which is nearby.

Nothing. We didn't stay.
The description was completely misleading. It was not stated that the bathroom was down a public corridor. The owner was quite unpleasant when I asked for another room. Of course we could not stay as she wouldn't change it. She accused me of not having read the Ts and Cs, but I reread them and there was NOTHING about the bathroom being separated from the room. We are past the age when we want to leave a private space to go to the bathroom during the night. She refused to refund me.
I should add she wasn't present when we arrived and the people in charge kept us waiting and waiting ...
The room was also very stuffy. However the complete absence of a private bathroom - and I mean private, not one where one must leave the room and go down a space shared with others - was completely unacceptable and simply not stated. The price was what one would expect for a bathroom included in the room. Outrageous.
Avoid.

Very pretty village, convenient. Breakfast and coffee good, staff friendly, clean and bright and well equipped.
The bedroom I had was up 2 flights of stairs, one flight very narrow. The bed was comfortable but squeaked whenever I moved, banged my head on low beam in bathroom, not good for tall people, the shower didn’t drain at all well.

Comfy bed, clean and just great

Excellent everything, especially the breakfast! Such a gem in a gorgeous village
The shower could ideally be higher to accommodate tall customers

Hospitality of owner. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast.
Only one pub serving food on a Monday evening .... and we were too late as they stopped at 7.30..

We booked this as a last minute stop over after the races in Uttoxeter and found it delightful. Set over a coffee shop with the most helpful owner I could've wished for; I don't live in the area and she interrupted her own meal time to find me a taxi to meet my partner. The room was fabulous, the bed so comfortable we only just made it to check out time! The bathroom has a beam which we narrowly avoided but was long as you're aware of it, it adds to the charm. The village is beautiful and I would definitely stay here again. And allow extra travel time so we can eat breakfast!
