The property and location worked well for us. Nine senior citizens ... no problem. The elevator was a key feature in our decision making. We were not disappointed.

This home is serene and spectacular! It offers plenty of space, very clean and has all the modern amenities. It sits off the beaten path with beautiful views of the intercoastal waterway yet is just a few minute drive to the beach, popular food and shopping destinations in Galveston. It's a new, beautifully decorated modern home, and will not disappoint. We'd for sure visit again.

We had a great stay. The house was exactly like the photos and in a great location. It is very scenic around the house but it is near some marshes so there are mosquitos.

We loved this house! The location was perfect. It was about a 5 minute drive to the beach and just far enough down a quiet road to feel like you were so far away. My favorite thing about the home was that pretty much each room was as like a master suite. All the bedrooms had king size beds with their own bathroom which was perfect. And the other bed room had a total 6 beds with its own bathroom which was perfect for all the boys to be able to hang out in the same room. It was also a great location for our kids to fish, walking distant from the house. I would definitely stay here and again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area.

The home is beautiful and comfy. We definitely want to plan another visit.

The elevator saved us, especially because we traveled with our aging mother who otherwise would have really struggled with all the stairs! Beautiful home, great spot for a family vacation! Thank you Blue Pelican!

We absolutely loved this house. We come to galveston several times a year and this is one of the best houses we've rented. We enjoyed having our local family visit and the space was perfect for us to spend that time together. Elevator is a life saver. Beds were so comfortable and the peacefulness of the deck during sunrise and sunset is worth every penny. We will be staying here again in the near future!

I booked this place for a business trip as we were down here for a conference along with some work events. The house was perfect as it was huge and spacious with a really cool elevator that made it very convenient. Nice sunset views of the bay when it wasn't foggy and is located close to Moody Gardens and restaurants. Three of my work colleagues and my wife stayed in the house as everyone had a great comfortable time. The AC can get downright cold in the house which was perfect for us guys that are usually hot all the time. Wish I could have been there for personal vacation, but we will just have to book it again sometime. Definitely recommend this place!

Wonderful, high-end property with all the comforts of home!

This house is at the top of our list as one of the most memorable family gatherings to celebrate Thanksgiving. We loved the openness. The kitchen is an absolute beauty extending into the laundry and pantry area. The elevator was a godsend. I can speak to every room in the house rating each one five stars.
We loved it and will return again in the near future.

PERFECT space for 10 of us to gather. Loved the porches, living space, plenty of bathrooms, large table to sit around and quiet neighborhood yet close to all that Galveston has to offer for activities.

Loved being in a nature preserve!!

Our extended family rented this home.
Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom for privacy. My husband is handicapped and the “inside” elevator was a lifesaver!!! Will remember this place for another trip and highly recommend it to others. Very quiet too.

This house was absolutely perfect! The area was quiet. The home was spacious and had everything we needed.

The house is rather isolated and about 1.5 miles from the beach. The house was very clean and nicely appointed but the house had many misses and became a bit of a family joke. The door was EXTREMELY difficult to open, the sink handle kept falling off, there were no curtains or window coverings in several bedrooms, the oar fell off the wall in the loft (when no one was there) because it was hung with a small picture hook and there was no toilet paper holder in the master bathroom.
4.8
The property itself is great. All 8 of us loved the house and location. There is a learning curve with using the dishwasher, microwave, elevator and lights/ceiling fans, no instruction manuals to be found. An instruction sheet would have gone a long way decreasing the frustration level. We put in numerous calls to report issues and talked to the representative who stated that they were not familar with the property and the local representative would call. They never did even after numerous attempts describing issues. Some of the issues were small like the toilet paper holder in the master bathroom was not installed. It was in the linen closet just awaiting installation. The ceiling fan and light in the main area would not function. The elevator was difficult to figure out the correct sequence of events to operate, once again, a note on how to operate would have been nice. The reason that this was a big deal is that we had a guest with mobility issues and we picked this property based on having an elevator. The key to the downstairs elevator door was nowhere to be found which means anyone could access the property when all the other doors were locked. To top it off the hot water heater stopped functioning the day before we left so no hot showers. So overall a great time was had by all but it would have been a 5 star all the way with better property management.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Pelican so much. The location was great on the bay side of the island, about 6-8 minutes from town and secluded enough to not worry with a lot of noise. The house is just beautiful with all the amenities anyone would need. One suggestion of needing a toilet paper holder in the downstairs bedroom's en suite and a short instruction of the elevator. We were only 2 couples as one couple could not come at the last minute. We wish we could have shared it with several others. We will definitely be back again as we enjoyed the things we did in Galveston, but there is so much more to see and do.

Really enjoyed our stay at the house...very beautifully decorated. We couldn't have been more comfortable. Everything we needed was available. Shops and beach only minutes away. High end appliances was definitely a plus and the beds were sooo comfy. Definitely will book again. Just be sure to bring bug spray...mosquitos are vicious at night. Wonderful time spent here!

Beautiful & clean; quiet location with awesome views. Nicely appointed, had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay.
We had several issues with the elevator. I would suggest that someone check the locking mechanism on ground floor door of the elevator. The elevator locking mechanism doesn’t always engage and must be checked each time it’s closed to be sure that it has locked before leaving the property. One time it locked us out of the elevator and another time we left, having shut the door and tested the lock only to return and find the elevator door was not locked.

Loved the home and our experience with Vacasa was great. Responses were prompt and insight manager was helpful. The home is beautiful and well kept with high end appliances, bathrooms, bedding, towels and accessories. Great open living spaces and loved the kitchen. Was a perfect home for a family weekend!

At first we weren't sure we like being away from the beach but the bay is so peaceful and quiet. We were still only 2 minutes from Galveston hot spots.

We booked months ahead for a week at Christmas with our family, including our newborn grandson. I was pleased to get their e-mail several days before our arrival explaining how to protect the plumbing during the freezing storm expected just before Christmas. It asked us to leave the indoor faucets dripping. You would think they would have done that before we got there to make sure their property was ready for us.
We arrived in freezing temperatures at check-in (4pm) on the day before Christmas Eve. Many of us had flown in from out of state to be together. Within 10 minutes I got voice mail from Vacasa telling us the water was turned off outside and could not be turned on because the valve was frozen. The message said our option was to rebook for some other week as Vacasa had no other available rentals nearby for this week.
I called back and got more of the same (with an apology). We asked to stay the night even without running water because of the newborn, the late hour, the lack of an alternative with sufficient heat, and most of our stuff already unpacked. The next day we learned that water would not be available until after Christmas. That was after we had been told maintenance would arrive within the hour (but didn't come all day - it WAS Christmas Eve so we didn't honestly expect anyone). We had to leave, but by that point we had found a new VRBO on our own for the week.
This week we learned that Vacasa would charge us for one of the seven booked nights and another fee. They at least expressed regret that our rental was not fit for use through no fault of ours. There is no question we stayed the night, however, they did not prepare the property for the known freezing conditions prior to our arrival. There was no notice of the situation until after our arrival. Vacasa has the option of eating this unfortunate loss they caused us. Instead, they want us to pay them. Our cost will be over $1000 with fees from VRBO included. What could have been a great week at an otherwise lovely house in Galveston became a very difficult 24 hours with a bill we disagree that we must pay.
Hopefully Vacasa will think this over again and give us a full refund.

We came to Galveston for a wedding at the Grand Galvez. The home is very clean and beautiful. It looks brand new! It’s also reasonably priced. We enjoyed a lot of family time. All you need is supplied in the house from kitchen supplies to shampoo and conditioner, plenty of towels, too! Love the house!

This property is perfect for a large family, with a bunk room with 5 single beds and a bath, 3 master bedrooms, a small but very warm room with a single bunk on the 4th floor, and an elevator for the elderly or handicapped (we had both). Beautiful views of Galveston Bay if you can ignore the refinery on the horizon. Very high end home with excellent technology throughout. We had a few weather-related problems but the local management was very responsive. An excellent property!

100% satisfied, right up there with my wedding night.

The Blue Pelican is a well-appointed home that is sparking clean, in a great location, an exceptionally quiet area, and a marvelous retreat for our group. We will definitely be back.

This home doesn't disappoint! It is luxurious with a high-end kitchen and multiple bathrooms. The bedrooms were spacious with nice mattresses and linens. The home has three large decks with breathtaking views and a nice area underneath for large gatherings. It would be a great option for multiple familes or a large group. We'll definitely be back!

Showed up to a pile of dirty towels on the floor. We had to launder the towels in order for us to have rags and towels to use. Informed property manager and they said they would reach out to the cleaners. Never heard anything else. Rest of the house was decently clean. House needed minor repairs but all and all was in great shape and beautiful.

Loved the house. Perfect for our group! Excellent location.

I could not have been more pleased with our Stay at The Blue Pelican! The views are like a postcard especially for sunsets 180 degree views of the water off the front decks . We were 2 families with teenagers, the house was wide open with 3 different decks that allowed everyone to have their own space. The 3 king beds were very comfortable and of course the Teens took over the bunk room. Every room had its own ensuite and Smart TV's, which allowed for even more privacy. Plus a Crows Nest up top that you could see for miles. Looking off the decks you could see views of West Bay, Sweetwater lake, and the Bridge crossing onto the island was really a sight at night being all lit up! The location was very close to the beach, the seawall and moody gardens. It was so much fun to get out and explore Historic Galveston and I didn't know the strand had so many Local shops and the live music playing was an unexpected surprise!. The home is brand new and the owners must had it professionally decorated, as it did not disappoint. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and high end appliances for anything we wanted to cook. The one day it rained we grilled out on the 1st level while playing their outdoor games cornhole and the biggest Jenga set I have ever seen. At night there were so many board games we couldn't play all of them but the dining room table was large enough that we had 2 sets of games going at the same time. There was a dual kayak we never got to use but maybe we can get to that on our next visit here. It does have a gated entrance but it wasn't closed while we were there but this is a newer neighborhood. Overall I would give this house and area 5+ Stars, it felt like you're in the country but so convenient to everything. Cant wait to come back and explore more of the Island and do some fishing! "
