About this apartment rental
To find an apartment this close to the Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor (we're talking less than a minute away) in the heart of Florence's historic centre is special. But to bag a place with a courtyard garden to boot? Now that's a rare thing.
On sunny mornings, pad outside across the cool, terrazzo floors for a lazy breakfast and expressos in the surprisingly peaceful courtyard – it's a lovely spot for an evening aperitif, too, with the palazzo lit up in all its glory.
Housed in a historic palace with an entrance of high and mighty proportions, inside this home doesn’t disappoint either. Newly renovated, there's a chromotherapy spa shower room complete with a star-lit ceiling and a light-filled, beautifully-styled bedroom complete with a walk-in closet to unpack and make the home your own.
When it's time to delve into Florence's winding, romantic streets, you won't have far to go. Follow in Medici's footsteps along the famous Vasari Corridor adorned with antique statues and 16th-century frescoes – the newly re-opened 1km-long covered passageway is on your doorstep (we recommend booking a tour in advance). Or hop over the Arno River and make a beeline to Brunelleschi's mighty red cathedral dome on Piazza del Duomo (a mere ten-minute stroll) and get ready to swoon.
Home truths:
*You’ll share the large outdoor terrace with one other apartment
*This home sleeps four with the last two guests sharing a sofa bed in the living room – if you’d like maximum space for socialising, we’d recommend this home for two guests
*The double bed can be changed into twin beds on request
*There’s a laundry room overlooking the garden with a washing machine, dryer, ironing table, and sink – handy if you’re in Florence for a longer spell (lucky you)
*There's a laptop-friendly workspace for remote working
*There's no parking but Santa Maria Novella train station is just a seventeen minute walk, so arriving in the city is a cinch
