About this cottage rental
Jasmine cottage a charming cottage sleeping two. This cottage is perfect for those looking for a traditional cottage in a small village setting within a few minutes stroll of the lake and only 20 minute walk to Keswick centre. The property has a traditional and welcoming feel with original beams and a cast iron, log burning stove for snug evenings in.
The double fronted, end terrace cottage is situated in the centre of the village of Portinscale, just next to the village tearoom and just minutes from the local village pub and marinas.
On the ground floor you enter the property through the porch which offers space to hang jackets. The cosy beamed lounge has an Inglenook fireplace housing a wood burning stove, flat screen, smart TV., CD. docking station, wifi and dining area.
The kitchen is a modern galley style, well equipped with electric oven and electric hob, fridge, microwave and dishwaser.
Also on the ground floor there is a pretty sunroom, perfect to spend some time relaxing and enjoy a book or a glass of wine!
On the first floor there is a superb double bedroom with TV, DVD player, exposed cruick beam and ornamental cast iron fireplace with views to Walla Cragg and Ashness Fell.
The newly fitted bathroom has a shower over the bath, complete with vanity unit, hand basin and WC.
A new utility area/boot room with a washer, plenty coat hooks & a secure storage area for bikes etc.
The cottage also has an allocated car parking space to the front.

Location of the cottage was perfect for us, walking distance to a number of wainwrights and of Keswick (around 20 minutes) to get food afterwards!
Cottage was well equipped and extremely tidy, but watch your head on the low beams!
There are a couple of things that could have improved the stay, firstly the Wi-Fi is so slow it barely works so don’t plan on being able to do any work etc. whilst away. Secondly there are a number of signs around the property all with different instructions for the bins which we found confusing. Finally given the size of the dishwasher it would be good to have more plates and mugs etc so the dishwasher can be filled up fully and used more efficiently.

We had a wonderful week stay at Jasmine Cottage. We did struggle to find the cottage at first because we didn't see the little turn off just before the cafe. However once we found it, it was simple. Bus stop just across the road, lovely walks nearby and easy walk into Keswick.
Cottage is very well appointed and the bed was comfortable; we slept really well which isn't always the case when away from home. Lots of hot water and the shower was really good. There is a low beam in the bathroom but my husband was able to avoid bumping head so no issues there.
It was such a lovely holiday and cottage and I am sure we will return, when we do, I would hope to book Jasmine Cottage again.
PS the staff in the office are really helpful and friendly.

Another excellent week at Jasmine Cottage. Great location for walking into Keswick - therefore no parking problems! Many other walks in vicinity too. Jasmine never disappoints - been coming to this cottage for years and years - lost count! Can heartily recommend.

The cottage is in an ideal location, parking space is an absolute bonus. Clean, comfortable and everything you could need, want & desire, the garden room is a perfect spot for reading. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Jasmine Cottage on a very wet week in April with two dogs.
The 'sun room' became a handy boot room for drying our kit and dogs, and we were grateful for the heating being on pretty much all the time.
The furniture and bed were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.
I hadn't appreciated that the garden was shared with the other cottages in the row, so we had to keep an eye on the dogs to stop them wandering up behind the other properties. The gate is also used by all properties for rear access so it was essential to check it had been closed before letting the dogs out.
We had a couple of small issues but were easily able to get hold of Keswick Cottages to sort out.
The cottage is in an ideal location close to the lake, next door to a cafe and just a short drive into Keswick. We would definitely return and recommend to others.

We have only good things to say about Jasmine Cottage, a cosy cottage with everything you could want or need. A comfortable bed, a spacious, modern bathroom and a handy conservatory to sit in to enjoy the sunshine. Really thoughtful and much appreciated locally sourced goodies to try and all of the essentials provided too. Thanks so much.
The cottage is located conveniently for a short walk into Keswick, with The Chalet Tearooms just next door. We enjoyed The Farmers Arms in Portinscale and The Dog and Gun in Keswick. Highlights were a walk around beautiful Buttermere and to Scale Force Waterfall.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location. Immaculately presented.
Within easy walking distance of the much busier Keswick.
I would agree with a previous comment in that only one toilet roll in the cottage and a minuscule amount of washing up liquid. I didn’t cook there at all, only ate breakfast, so didn’t need the dishwasher.
I only gave a 3 for customer service as I did everything online, so really nothing else to comment.
I also gave 3 for value for money as it was only myself staying. I understand that with cottages there is no single supplement, but I still feel I need to make a point on behalf of other single travellers.
However on the whole would definitely stay here again.

We arrived at Jasmine and no problem gaining access through the side entrance. The cottage was tastefully decorated for our Christmas stay.
The cottage had everything at hand for a comfortable week long stay.
The location is excellent for walks around Derwentwater, Catbells or a short walk into Keswick town with it’s many pubs and restaurants.
The cottage has a useful utility room which was great to dry the dog and get our wet clothes off as the weather was typical lakes weather.
Would definitely recommend a stay at Jasmine.
Recommend The Chalet tea room next door and The Falmers Arms for great pub food and friendly atmosphere.

A fantastic few days spent at Jasmine cottage. We were really happy on arrival to find this cosy little cottage.
The location was fantastic with a quick 15 minute walk into keswick and lots of walks nearby or a short distance away.
It was a much needed break and we didn't want to return home! Our 2 little frenchies loved their stay and spent most of evenings fast asleep in front of the fire.
Thanks for our gifts on arrival and decorating the cottage, we definitely started to feel Christmassy

We stay here most years, short walk to Keswick, quiet village. We caught a bus from Keswick and walked back to Portinscale twice, only drove the car once in the week- perfect holiday. Cottage has cosy living room with log burner and smart TV, lovely bright sun room and compact kitchen that is well equipped. Bathroom clean and spacious. Bedroom spacious with character - exposed beams and sloping ceiling. Would definitely return.

Car parking is is good but access can be diifficult at tmes.
The sun lounge/breakfast room is a most enjoyable feature.
The TV control menu can be a puzzel.
A ice cube tray in the fridge would be a nice touch !.
Carry on the good work, cheers Mike P

The location is great the cottage is nice but could be improved by more comfortable furniture the settee and chair were so soft you almost sank to the floor. The level of cleanliness could be better cutlery dirty crumbs in draw and floors need a good clean. The bedroom had dark hair on the carpet and in the bed.

Jasmine Cottage - Holiday 2022
Lost count of the many times we have stayed at this cottage. A cosy, comfortable and well-equipped cottage to return to after a busy day. An excellent location for walking in to Keswick, visits to Whinlatter Forest and walks alongside Derwentwater. And a bonus - parking right outside the front door!

Lovely Cottage
A lovely stay in Portinscale on the outskirts of Keswick. The cottage itself was very nice - I loved the small sunroom at the back of the property. The cottage had everything required for my stay. The bathroom looked fairly new with a great shower. I had a couple of questions regarding the property and Keswick Cottages were very prompt in their response.

Very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a prime location. It had everything provided for holidaymakers.
We enjoyed coming back to the sun room in late afternoon after some fairly wet walks and relaxing with a drink before moving into the comfortable sitting room in the evening.
Easy parking outside the cottage
Would certainly return.
