Really good location, friendly staff , good sized room. Quiet in an evening
Alcohol free bar
Room was clean but a bit tired, broken clasp on window, marks on wall

Buffet style breakfast. Quantity was good, quality average.
Hotel is very dated and needs an overhaul. Worn carpets on stairs made them quite slippery in places. Decor is very drab and everywhere needs redecorating.

Handy position on the seafront.Excellent staff. Got my car parked ok
Hotel a bit jaded, although facilities in room were good, looked like a new shower and bathroom.Bed was comfy & LARGE!! Only down side was the poor food at breakfast, bacon did'nt look like bacon. Not enough choice and also a Caledonion trip we're also at breakfast. Also there were no bar facilities, but there was a bar that sold alcohol free drinks and tea and coffe and you could take yourself own drinks in. And having said this I would go back because it is central to everything in the town.

The hotel has a great location (close to the beach, SEA LIFE center, a small shop and other attractions) plus it has a free parking. The staff was polite and helpful and the rooms were quite OK for the price.
The bathrooms could do with a little freshening up - but having said that, they weren't bad either.

Loved the seaview room and the mix of modern and traditional features, the tea/coffee facilities and the comfortable and cosy room.
The issue was with the lift as it was an old-fashioned lift and as I had two suitcases, I struggled getting them in the door as the door almost closed on one of the suitcases and other people were coming out of the lift at the same time.

Location is great and it’s not bad for the money!
Bathrooms are a bit rank, the bed was uncomfortable and the room was soooooo hot 🥵

Fijne locatie pal naast boulevard + sea life.

Breakfast was a good choice and nicely presented/cooked
A few facilities needed a little attention, but we understand the hotel had only recently been acquired . We had stayed previously via Shearings a couple of times. The lift had suffered some damage and could only accommodate 2 people at one time. Although not an issue for us, it is for the elderly as there are 3 floors with a lot of stairs. Evening meals had to be pre ordered. Not ideal if someone decides they wanted to have dinner at the hotel at the last minute. The bar was not selling alcohol only tea/coffee /soft drinks. Again not an issue for us , but we did hear a number of people commenting on it.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. My son liked the breakfast. The views that the hotel has of the sea front are wonderful.
Lots of choices at the bar in the evening.
Is a very noisy Hotel. The walls and floors are thin. You can hear people wondering around above you and next door. The opening closing of door too, you could also hear people's conversations sometimes depending now lound they are.

The room was updated from last time so was very fresh and newish, we liked that. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
All of the communal areas need updating ie; the bar, wasn’t busy or very inviting so we didn’t use it. Whole of communal areas need updating and decorating, the carpets are not nice, smells horrible. The outside of the building is not very nice at all and the bin area was filthy, rubbish everywhere outside and smelt horrible. The shower in the room door was broken and kept catching my foot getting out of the shower because it was an old fashioned shower tray.

Our bed was fairly comfortable, the breakfast was average, it gave my partner a dodgy belly, the view was nice, & the location was very good.
The man behind the bar was friendly, welcoming & helpful, as were the reception staff.
The hotel building needs painting & cleaning, first impressions are very important.
The breakfast cereal was in open bowls which is unhygienic in this day & age, people with germs have only got to breathe, cough, or sneeze near it & you've caught something!
We paid for a "deluxe sea view room" & only got a standard sea view room!
We found it difficult to get parked.

Right by the Beach, free parking at the front of the Hotel, cheap off peak rates. Staff gave fantastic service.
Room tired, Hotel in need of modernisation, Bar lacks atmosphere. Doesn’t really capitalise on classic styling inside.

Location. Fairly priced and nice sized room. All basic needs met. A tv shower and toilet. Double bed freshly made. Only issue was the walls are fairly thin so could hear other people’s tvs or muffling from conversations in other rooms. One night it was fairly noisy around 4am outside our door for no reason but stopped every 10/15 minutes or so. Possibly people come in to their rooms. The stairs were a little old dated and worn which made it hard for me to walk up to my room being pregnant but felt the safer option as the lift looked very out dated and old and small. But all in all 3 nights at £176 you can’t complain. It did its purpose and it was overall a lovely location and great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our tv didn’t work when we arrived so it was soon replaced which a working tv so we could watch free view , with film 4 which was great.
