Rio Verde and Coral Beach is a hidden gem just a short walk from Puerto Banus. When exiting the hotel's doors closest to the beach you are within 1 minute standing on the original Golden Mile.
I had a room on the east side of the property with a balcony and in the month of October I only got maybe 1 hour of sun on it before noon, then you have to move to the general pool area or choose one of the more expensive units/rooms on the roof.
Breakfast was truly superb and offered everything you could dream of.
Only downside is that this hotel was by far the most expensive stay on my journey. In the month of October and off-season you would think the rates very lower given how empty the hotel was, but at the same time it was so great to get the hotel almost for yourself.

Love this hotel, great breakfast

overall, it was a nice experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the rooms, which had access to a shared pool. This pool was a fantastic feature—private, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing away from the crowds.
However, there were a couple of aspects that could be improved. The breakfast experience, for example, didn’t quite meet our expectations. While the food quality was decent, the restaurant was huge and quite chaotic. With many families and lots of people, it was a bit overwhelming and didn’t offer the relaxing start to the day we had hoped for.
Additionally, while the hotel has a large pool, we felt it could be better maintained or designed to enhance the overall experience.
Despite these minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the convenience and comfort of the location.

Our experience with the pool guard was horrible he wouldn't allow us to have drinks pool side or kids to play in the pool. We paid lots of money to be there but was over the top.

This property should be a two start property. It’s outdated, out of staff, uncomfortable and dirty. The beds are so old and uncomfortable that I deleveloped a sever back pain and neck issues. When you talk to the management they acknowledge all the issues yet they have the audacity to ask for good reviews. Of course whom I thought was the management team wasn’t even the property manager. Not only I won’t stay there I would not recommend anyone staying there. We got half board breakfast and lunch and they charged even for a glass of water and all the drinks and deserts .?only the main meal was included. Really a funny situation yet very sad and uncomfortable.

there were ants in the room, staff acted as if it is normal.
cleaning stole stuff from my room.

Such a lovely hotel, clean, friendly service, stylish design. Bathroom had no privacy, so you get to know more about your travel companion than needed 😁 Very close to the beach. Awesome breakfast. Highly recommended.

Customer service and staff were exceptionel.

The hotel is nice but a bit outdated. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I think the price is way too high. We were charged $1000 extra for having 4 to a room which seemed ridiculous when my kids had to sleep on a pull out sofa. And they charge for everything. Even milk in the little fridge for coffee. Even the pool table cost $2. I didn’t think it was a good value for the money. We wanted to have a bottle of wine on our balcony bc we were tired of spending so much money. There was no wine opener in our room. We were told the bar can do this and then they charged us $20 cork fee.

Def not a 4 star hotel. More like a motel. Ants everywhere in the rooms, not clean. No concierge, no bellman. Doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel.

We loved our stay here. Staff were extremely kind and attentive. If you are looking for a quieter place to stay that is still walking distance to Peurto Banus then this is perfect. We enjoyed being able to walk along the boardwalk to try many beaches, walking into the puerto banus for dinner and it was a quick taxi to old town Marbella. We mostly went out to eat but we did go to the breakfast buffet which was wonderful, I am celiac and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had options available. The pool facilities were great with comfortable lounge chairs and attentive staff who brought out special treats every day. We would definitely stay here again!

hotel was ok, no hot tub, a block from the beach with staff that had no idea about any local activites. No concierge services and no idea about beaches resteraunts or anything else.

I liked the comfort of the poolside lounge chairs. I was surprised there weren't more options for lunch items by the poolside. We loved the room with comfy beds, with the balcony table and chairs. The shower was fantastic. It would be nice to see more flowers and trees in the pool area next to the fish and turtle pools. The hotel overall was beautiful especially at night lit up!

Lovely staff, room had terrace with hammock swings, beach is typical of the area, excellent breakfast

Nice Hotel , we booked a room with 2 beds, instead we got 1 bed, and they didn't had another room to offer us instead

It was so loud. And cold. No heat in rooms. Not on beach. Beach club in front was closed.
Staff letting themselves in your room while in shower.

The hotel is almost on the beach which offered excellent beachside walking promenade. The breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent and convenient. The pool facility was clean with lots of lounge chairs. Staff were very helpful. Iberostar never disappoints. Highly recommend.

Hotel was shocking towards my wife as a single woman traveller and just pathetic about everything else. Will be giving the brand a wide berth in future, should have booked the Melia. Awful attitude, charging and disrespect!
Everything that is bad about the hotels in the area.

Ultra modern look. Friendly staff ; lovely pool areas . We would have appreciated at least one English speaking TV channel for news; many in German and only one in French.
1.0
Very dated property, the photos are old and misleading. The hotel has non air conditioning. The floor in our room had lots of cracks, and just generally unlvoed.
We were told we had been upgraded, i dread to think what the other room would have been like.
2.0
The hotel is nice but is not a beachfront hotel and does not have sunbeds on the Beach. We were allocated a ground floor accessible room although this was not requested but it was sufficient. The room was close to the bar so was very noisy at night so it would be worth asking for a rooms away from the bar area. The staff are lovely. The reception area is nice but the restaurant for breakfast and dinner is in the basement by the car park. There is a lively restaurant by the pool which would serve breakfast and dinner better. The hotel is a 20 minute walk into Puerto Banús so quite handy and opposite Aldi

Thank you for the outstanding service by your entire staff. Iberostar Coral Beach Resort is beautiful and the restaurant meals were delicious and varied. Iberostar made our first visit to Marbella truly memorable and special!
3.0
Nice staff. Good location. Over priced for facilities. No privacy in room and bathroom design. Bed not great. Aircon stopped working on the last night. For half the cost these things may have been more acceptable.
1.5
The hotel lobby and pool area are lovely, but unfortunately, it’s not right on the beach. I wish there had been more food options (pool club didn’t have much fresh options and dinner is buffet only). Rooms are basic but fine - quite a few ants in mine! But the bed was a bit hard. Overall, it was fine, not bad but not great. Stayed 2 nights and that was enough

I booked for side sea view room & I get a swimming pool view in ground level floor

Could do with some music or entertainment around the pool, food was excellent, drink service was very good.

Staff was truly amazing, especially in the dining area.
The rooms were specious but relatively basic.
The pool area did not wow.
We used the bikes which was a lot of fun. One suggestion for the management: make the rentals hourly.

Could not rate this hotel highly enough. Excellent location, 15 minute walk from Peurto Banus. The hotel is so well presented, rooms are so clean and decor is light and airy for a relaxed feel. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed bed and breakfast and the selection on offer and breakfast was fab. Will definitely be booking here again on our next trip back to Marbella
