It was nice, but Marriott customer service was not that great with helping me get into my rewards account. And the rooms were out dated.

Although Staff was courteous and professional unfortunately no one came to clean our room the 5 nights we stayed. We complained to staff at front desk as well as housekeeping. Someone came 1 day to drop off towels and placed a few sheets of facial tissue in tissue box. We had to place all our used towels and garbage outside the room. As a Bonvoy Marriott member I have never experienced this. This was my first visit to Detroit. If I visit again I won’t be coming back the Marriott at renaissance.

The hotel seemed tired and a bit neglected

Right in the center of everything great property.

The room was very smelly and the air conditioning was not working properly. Most of the staff was very rude. Given the price that we paid for the room for one night ($570), we would have expected the room to be in excellent conditions.

Good experience for a conference center.

Nothing was convenient. The room was very hot even when the air conditioner was turned down to 60 degrees. I believe we were charged for nothing but the name.My husband and I had a miserable night! We left at 8:00am because we were so on comfortable!

This is a wonderful hotel with incredible views. It is clean, the bed is comfortable, and it is an easy walk to the river and downtown.
Our only criticism is that they charge $14.95 per day for Wi-fi which is exhorbitant considering room costs are over $200 per night. Wi-fi should be free.
We were also given a room with a non/flushing toilet; however, they fixed it right away.
We were also disappointed that the Starbucks on the third floor was closed and there was nowhere to get a latte in the hotel.
These things are minor (except for the Wi-fi). All in all, it was a relaxing and wonderful stay.

The service was good and the workers are very helpful if you had a question that you needed an answer to

Upon arrival the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned: dust on the top of the radio and on the luggage rack.
The room didn’t have running water Friday evening nor was it cleaned. We requested room service Saturday morning and the only service provided was clean trash cans and clean towels left on the ironing board. After discussing the cleaning issue with customer service the maid that cleaned the room returned and said, “I cleaned your room.” A visually impaired person could see that dirty cups on counters, unmade beds, do not disturb placard on the bathroom floor, and dirt in the sink doesn’t equate to clean.
I expected better from the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

I booked 3 king rooms and at check in, I was told that only double beds were left. He then applied a 40.00 credit for use on the property. That was total, not per room. When friends checked in after me under my name, they received the room that was originally booked. We were also by the elevator that kept us up most of the night because it was so noisy. The staff at the bar was great and super friendly but that was the only positive.

Had gnats in the room, and was double charged for the stay in town for a reunion and account overdrawn due to overcharges, and they didn’t try to accommodate or rectify the situation.. first time and last time and I love DETROIT.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. For the price, could have newer bathroom, more amenities, and less building noise. Heard and weird hollowing creaking on/off all night long
