Liked the hotel but didnt like the pay to park. $25 a night to park and the ticket to get in/out didn't work half the time. Almost felt like i couldn't leave bc it would cost me more money.

It was a quick night stay before flight. Service and Staff were phenomenal and the shuttle back and forth to airport was perfect. Park car on premises was a bonus while away.

I booked the room that was for Wednesday the 9th, but when I got there they said I had no reservation and no available rooms. I said I know I booked it. No answer. So I had to book a different hotel that night. When I checked the hotels.com app I saw it was booked for Sunday the 13th. The room I picked was non-refundable.
So I picked two other dates that I knew I would need a room in that area and tried to change the reservation to one of those dates. For both of them the app said no rooms were available in that hotel. I called the hotel and they said sure, we have plenty of rooms. When I asked them about changing the date they said it could only be done through you. So they gave me an 800 number to try and call you I did try….and was on hold for over two hours until I just gave up.
Now I’m sure I did something wrong when first booking the room at the Doubletree Newark, but not being able to change the reservation either through your app or over the phone was incredibly frustrating. Congrats. You got my money….

Well i've been here many times, and this was not the best. Wasn't the worst though. Had to switch rooms, but they handled that quickly because they knew they had too. Housekeeping also skipped me, had to ask again and leave my room again to get it cleaned. Big bonus was the EV chargers on site. That alone might have me booking with them again.

Let’s start with the good point breakfast is really good , but you’ll have to beg for your coupon at the front desk even if you ve paid for it and is supposed to be given at the check in .
The lobby and the gym are really pleasant as well .
Bad points :
The room , nothing to do with the picture, it s a complete lie , old, 0 light , rusted bathroom and you hear everything , I ve asked for a change to get what I had on the pic they said it s fully booked they can t do anything for me.
The worst is that the hotel has 0 security policy , they welcome a bunch of teen literally screaming and making a mess the whole night while we were trying to sleep, they could do nothing cause they had no security on the hotel , they even tried to open my door and they just did nothing . Instead of put them in a different place so they can make all the noise they want, they spread them in the hotel so we actually paid a room to be disturbed and not sleep

This hotel has lost sight of customer service. You get ignored at the front desk. Empty tables you can’t sit at. Negative level service at breakfast. These folks are phoning it in.

The outlets between the beds did not work. The refrigerator cord was plugged into the outlet on the lamp.as we boarded the shuttle van going to the airport the Driver wanted to try and squeeze someone in a seat that was nonexistent. we told him that was not possible. Luckily someone decided to hold on to their luggage. An employee from the morning shift wanted to charge me $3 for water and never asked if I was a Hilton Honors member or not. There were Hilton employees there who were nice.

I didn’t like the fact that parking was charged. Beds were double not queen, 1 room, 4 adults not enough cups, nor coffee. Receptionists were helpful.

Front desk staff were really great. Lobby/bar/restaurant/pool is pretty cool - expansive and welcoming. Luckily the restaurant was open until 11 that night as we were overnighting there for a long layover. Not much food selection, but it was good and was appreciated.
The hallways and rooms are pretty beat-up. Desperately needs new carpet in halls. It was good enough for the 7 hours we were there, but pillows small, no closet, smelled vaguely of cigarettes, and half of the outlets not working. Oh and I cleaned the air intake vent - pretty nasty.

All the outlets in the room would not hold a cord they kept falling out. My bathroom sink didn't drain properly. Could not get access to wifi. Wall behind toilet was dirty. Other then that bed was comfy and they did refresh room each day. I didn't like that there was no information in room regarding wifi info, or anything about food and hours besides QR code, but I couldn't get wifi so I couldn't access QR code. The lady at the counter was nice I was original placed on 11th floor but I don't do elevators and she was able to place me on second floor so was happy for that!

This is my go to hotel when I need to rest and relax. It’s a great place to visit.

The facility is very nice but the help and staff (other than check in) was dismal. We waited over 40 min in line for the over priced buffet because tables couldn’t get buzzed. The host started handing out to go containers so we could eat in the lobby. The workers that were there tried but the hotel is clearly under staffed significantly. Food, vending, coffee all terribly over priced for mediocre quality. Still, it was much better than surrounding options. We enjoyed the stay overall

The staff was unfriendly, the service was overall horrible. We were told we could check in at 2pm our room was not ready until well after 4pm. They sent us up to a room that was not clean and the staff was impossible to get in touch with. After cleaning the room, the room itself was fine it was clean and comfortable. The maids banged on our door at 9am and woke us up for no reason and someone tried to unlock our room door at 2am. Definitely would not stay again.

The room was amazing. Very spacious and cozy. I didn’t like that I couldn’t do room service. It was a little inconvenient but the bar area to order food was not busy at the time.

The Hotel and staff was extremely nice, especially Michele the front desk clerk. She help us with the hotel shuttle and also with train situations into Penn Station. This experience makes me want to try other Doubletree Hotels on my next trip excursions. Hotel lobby excellent, very nice rooms and clean only thing I wish the bathrooms was larger.

Great staff, super friendly and helpful, extremely convenient, very comfortable room, great gym, good enough breakfast if a little overpriced. Only downside was thin walls — it was noisy at night, and I heard someone throw up — but totally fine after I put in my earplugs.

I brought a group of teenagers to NYC and we stayed here! There’s a walkable bus station very near the hotel which you can take (including a few change overs to get you to the right spot) into the city! Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff!

Horrible experience, front desk lady was extremely rude and unprofessional, arrived (10/19 between 4-5PM) only to be entertained with many issues, which wasn’t only her poor attitude but also included a downgraded room and nearly a WEEK of trying to receive a PARTIAL refund (paid $260 received $50 refund for a downgraded room AND all my troubles…).
The downgrade wouldn’t have even been an issue, it would’ve been accepted and I wouldn’t have even cared to tried for any type of refund. It is the front desk lady that y’all allow to represent your hotel that led to my headaches and frustration.
Do better.
Please take your business, hard earned money, ELSEWHERE.

There was no bottled water in the entire hotel, including the vending machines. I was told that water was on back order?? Not what I would expect at all from a hotel. I arrived very thirsty and felt dehydrated during my stay. I prepaid for breakfast but was denied when I went at 9:55. The person was rude to me when I told her I had paid and tried to charge me $24, so I left hungry. Bad experience.

I arrived at 1am in the morning. The receptionist check in person at the desk (African American Gentleman) was quite rude. He gave me no information about the property. I had to ask everything. He did not provide me with the wifi information. When I got to my room it was hot and my bathroom had to been cleaned properly. I tried to call the front desk but the phone in my room did not work and by now it is 2am. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk because I was unable to get onto the wifi. When I called down and expressed my concern and frustration the man at the front desk (same person as above) told me "if you will be quiet".....I will tell you how to get on the wifi. I will never stay at the hotel again. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was horrible and there was very little food on the buffet and they were not replenishing the buffet properly. It was 9:30am. Worst Hilton experience ever.

Quality horrible in regards to food , Clearly prepared in advance at restaurant. Ordered and served in five minutes, roasted salmon. Besides the bagel, breakfast Was inedible, cold or Luke warm at best for 55$ for 2. Charge practically $30 for parking and I was told to park on the grass. Upgraded to king size with New York City skyline should’ve said train yard view. Would not recommend anybody and I’m a Hilton honors diamond member oh which they wouldn’t allow me to add that to my reservation since I booked it from a different site. Thumbs down all around Hilton you disappointed me.

Super nice and secure. The only complaint is the lady at the first restaurant near the lobby was SO unfriendly. I tried to make eye contact with Beersheba was intentionally trying to avoid making eye contact maybe because she didn’t want to greet me. It was hurtful as I wanted to give her a smile… just to get it over with. With that being said she also didn’t make eye contact with me to see if I had any further needs. I was pretty much ignored by her! The entire restaurant was unorganized and not seamless with customer service. Seems like only one gentleman was scrambling with the entire restaurant. My Parmesan garlicwings were unbelievably delicious as were the mashed potatoes ( probably the best I have had) but they were barely warmed.
