Tiring, difficult 12 hour flight to get here. The hotel staff was wonderful! Helpful in every way! Beautiful, relaxing place!

Amazing stay. The staff defined the Aloha spirit and truly made you feel welcome.

Totally set up for business travelers, not at all vacation. Food was awful, and service was so slow in the restaurant/bar. Will not go back.
Front desk staff was AMAZING.

Lovely property. Just wish there was more acknowledgment as we were spending our honeymoon there. Even after letting the resort know, not much was done with our stay. I understand most hotels don’t accept certain requests whether it’s with or without much notice or offer perks depending on the occasion but considering this is a Marriott, we had high expectations.

The hotel was very nice. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Parking is easy. We had an ocean view room and the bathroom was larger than normal and the bed faced the ocean….lovely! The fitness center and the spa were both fantastic. The pools and the grounds were well done, and the beach is a short walk through the ponds. Overall very nice property.

Beautiful resort, great location, wish we would have stayed here longer. My only complaint was that they weren’t able to accommodate late checkout at all. We checked in relatively late d/t a delayed flight and were leaving the next night. We didn’t get to enjoy it much bc we had to checkout. Made for an awkward time figuring out what to do for 6-7 hours without a hotel to get cleaned up in before our long flight home. But we were upgraded bc they didn’t have the room we had booked available and the upgraded room was gorgeous!

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. We wish they had some more dining options onsite. As a recommendation, serving light fare and drinks on the Terrace would be an awesome improvement.

Really WONDERFUL service and staff!

My room had a great view of the ocean. The cleaning attended was very kind and did an excellent job everyday. She made sure that we were comfortable. The restaurants were too expensive for the value of each meal and alcohol drinks too.

The dining options for vegetarians is limited.

Very good well kept hotel. The main pool is glorious, if you go at 7AM to have it all to yourself :). Very quiet property, far from traffic noises, even the AC is whisper silent. Landscapers use electric EGO tools in the morning, finnaly! Convenient shops and ABC Grocery store in walking distance. Rooms are a bit small, but well kept. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Very dry sunny weather location. Overall a very relaxing stay. It is familly friendly/popular, like most of Hawaii...
The only negs would be the actual beach, which suffers from being very rocky in shallow water - you'll have to drive 15 mins to Hapuna if you want a good beach experience, and the somewhat iffy dining choises. The restaurant is very good for breakfast (try the Rancher omelet) but dinner options are expensive, and the restaurants arround it were uninspiring. Depends on taste - we ended up driving to Kailua Kona for dinners (Fish Hopper rules)
Oh, and be aware of fees, there is a $40 resort fee and $30 self parking fee per DAY, on top of your room booking, and I don't recommend going car free.

Nice hotel. Liked that the pool stayed open late. Would stay at hotel again.

What we liked- bed was great, room was updated and spacious. Couch was very comfortable. We liked being on the top (6th) floor. The reusable water bottles and filling stations were helpful.
What we did not like: We paid for an ocean view room (not partial view) and though we were facing the ocean directly, we were back quite far in the building and could not see a northern or southern view of the ocean and instead saw many other guest rooms. Also, it was a fight to get lounge chairs by the pool. Other guests claimed chairs very early in the morning with towels and beach bags. If one did not get there early, it was impossible to get a chair. The resort fee at $40 per night was excessive, especially with the chair situation.

The Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort is a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the western coast of the Big Island. Located on A Bay, the resort grounds provide access to a boardwalk around traditional fish ponds, which are an integral and culturally significant aspect of Hawaiian traditions. The board walk has informative signs that educate visitors about the significance of the ponds, and the walkway is beautiful and peaceful. The shores along the bay are pretty and the water is calm, inviting an easy stroll down the beach. The lobby floor is open to the coastal breezes, inviting visitors to linger and enjoy the outdoors. Out of the busy city center but only 25 minutes away, the property is a welcome and relaxing respite. If you enjoy walking, be sure to check out the historic Waikoloa petroglyphs located in a field just behind the King's Market shops. Please read the signs and be respectful of this ancient and historically rich experience.

The hotel is next to the public beach and it is convenient walking to the beach with water sport activities, like snorkeling.

Everything was wonderful. Kids loved the pool area. The beach next to the resort is great for snorkeling. We saw lots of fish and a couple of turtles.

Peaceful, beautiful

Poor quality. Bathroom flooring had a substance oozing up from underneath. Maybe glue from the vinyl flooring. Service staff in general poor, maybe due to understaffing or management issues. A disappointing stay. Not worth the money for poor service.

While our dinner at the main restaurant was a big negative, breakfast, service, and the room and location were all great. Management transferred us rooms from two doubles to a king room, with no hesitation Service throughout was second to none.
Location, beach, pool and grounds were all special to our family with a five year old. We would definitely stay again.

Nice property / beach and activities.
Would appreciate:
1) adult hot tub
2) better restaurant food / drinks (very breaded meals compared to restaurants nearby)
3) late check out especially for Marriott Gold members. They actually locked me out.

Incredible hotel staff and beautiful hotel grounds!!!

Overall great clean resort. Fantastic buffet breakfast and nice dinner options . It’s right on the beach so if the pool chairs are occupied (usually they are by midmorning ) you can go relax on the beach. Close to village shopping and dining. However, I was disappointed for a couple of reasons. First of all, it didn’t have a valet parking. Every time we went out we had to get the car ourself. Once we left the car in the courtyard for 10 min because we needed to get changed quickly for our dinner reservation the staff told us to park in the parking lot. We insisted so eventually they let us park on the side of the courtyard. Most hotels in the area had valet ( we checked when we went for dinner) The other thing I was disappointed about was that most of the time they run out of pool towels by 1-2 pm. We stayed there for a week. They closed the pool hut and pool food and drink service by 5pm. The guests can use the pool until 11pm though. I think the resort is a bit overpriced for those reasons . On the other side we had amazing sunset view from our ocean front balcony - priceless.

You didn’t have to go far to the pool or the beach. Great little coffee shop and gift shop. I liked the fact that the property is so close to 2 shopping malls with restaurants.

Had a beautiful beach in front. Need water shoes, but Beautiful and calm blue water!

We had a great stay. The rooms a tiny, beds are nice, pillows are in need of replacement. The rooms are quiet, but the hotel needs some love and mostly new carpet or a good cleaning. The food was good for breakfast. The pool was great and we could typically find a Lounge chair to chill. Walk out to the beach and you will see turtles, that’s amazing. The lava lava beach club was so great and close to the property. We ate there every night and the place is so much fun with great food.
