The Atlantic Hotel has a great location, right next to the Alta Alsta Lake. The room was very comfortable (superior, Lake view), with a large bathroom and very comfortable king bed. We had dinner in the Health and Grill and both the food and the view was excellent. Breakfast was superb, with a great choice , including the excellent Atlantic Omelette (with shrimp). We used the pool and spa and were overall very impressed with the facilities. Staff at the Atlantic are helpful and attentive, adding to the overall experience. The inner courtyard and Atlantic bar are worth a visit, with a great atmosphere and cocktail collection. I would recommend taking the hop on/off tour bus (it stops right outside the hotel), if you want to see the major sites of the city. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Hamburg and of course, the Atlantic!

The cleaning staff and the staff at the pool area was very kind, smiled and said hello to us. The staff at the desk was very rude. It was very clear that they we weren’t welcome. When I checked in, he was very surprised that I wanted to check in there. He asked for my card, and didn’t explain, why he needed my card, so I didn’t wanted to give it to him, before he explained, because I’ve already payed full price. When I checked out, I meet an even ruder female. She wanted the charge me for city tax, and my receipt said, that the price was inclusive tax and fees, so I didn’t understand, I had to pay another tax, where she just said “no”. I’m not familiar to the German taxation, which I didn’t know was an expectation, since I’m not from Germany. The staff at the pool area and the cleaning staff was very kind and welcoming, but the front desk staff ruined it, because we did not feel welcome at all.

Great hotel. Location is good, breakfast and rooms are great. Friendly and service minded staff. For dinner i recommend to find a restaurant in the city - hotel menu is limited and prices are (in my eyes) ridiculously high. Other than that all good!:)

This was my first time to Hamburg, and the Hotel Atlantic made it the pinnacle of my trip. The hotel location is perfect making it easy walking distance in the core downtown area and famous Christmas markets. The hotel is exceptionally well appointed, elegant and charming. The staff are extremely polite and professional and everyone that I interacted with speaks fluent English. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looing for an upscale hotel with a tremendous amount of elegance and history.

The room and bathroom was spotless!!! Lighting in the bedroom was dreadful even though it was renovated 2 years ago. The bed appalling , no support at all. Worst night's sleep and therefore unable to function work wise the following day. Lobby is very nice, so is the bar. 42 euro for breakfast and food charges rather high. Staff pleasant and check in was smooth

I made a 4 day reservation to splurge on myself. I regretted it. The mattress was super soft, which made sleeping on the side painful. The shower has two possibilities: Shower head from the ceiling, which would make my long hair wet. Or the handheld is in a loop in one position, which hits the lower half of my face. So, I had to take it out of that ring and hold it in my hand to shower. On the 3rd day they never cleaned my room. The room was quite small as well. I asked, if I could get out of my reservation, but they wouldn't let me. Really disappointed in what I got for such a price. I stayed in the Downtown Marriott before and that was better at a lower price

Superb and professional service! Friendly wait staff in the lobby bar. The hotel was gorgeous, impeccably maintained, and very comfortable. If only they made more use of the piano in the lobby. It doubled the pleasure of an already great experience, but they only use it a couple of evenings a week. Das schadet. Expensive, but the value is fully there. We will stay there again.

Good access to the center of Hamburg, Hop-on-hop-off stops right in front of the hotel, central station and subway very close, lots of cafes/restaurants in the area.

When is a 5 star hotel not a 5 star hotel? When they don’t have any restaurants open and the swimming pool is closed ‘for maintenance’ (if you believe that). After breakfast the only food they serve is simple and limited bar meals (burgers, sausages etc) in the bar. They operate the hotel like it is 2020. The staff do the best they can (and they discounted me the room service we had), but honestly, do yourself a favour and stay anywhere else until they decide to run a 5 star hotel again.
