Great hotel. Great staff best food we have in hotel for an age and breakfast one of the best, we will be back

It’s a lovely hotel - all the rooms are large and didn’t feel at all crowded, even in the bar which was quite busy in the evenings.
Bedroom was very large and comfortable, with a nice en-suite shower room.
A very good breakfast was provided with lots of choice.
My only negative is that it is pretty expensive - although we stayed as a ‘treat’ at the end of a touring holiday in the Highlands and it was very nice! 😃

Rooms were spacious, yet cozy

The room picture Expedia shows in the reservation and in this review is complete misrepresentation of the room we were provided; significantly smaller, appearance of furnishings dated, cramped sitting area and no bay window. I don’t know if the hotel is responsible or Expedia for this picture being used, but it is a bait and switch. They can easily show pictures of a variety of room choices/accomodations.

Smart hotel next to the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. In walking distance to the beach (where you can swim if you’re brave or own a wetsuit!) and the town where there are many options to eat if you decide not to always dine at the hotel. We had a smart, modern room overlooking the golf course and sea. It had a large, comfortable bed and monsoon shower.

Nice view and good service. Food in
Restaurant was OK, but the hotel in general needs a upgrade

Our room had an awesome view directly over the 1st tee at Royal Dornach. Fantastic set up and location, highly recommend the hotel.

It was a great place to stay weather you play golf or not. Good food and the bed was to die for. Super bar and fire place in the bar. Only tough part is carrying the bags up the stairs.

Staff is unbelievably amazing. Royal Dornoch Golf course is literally downstairs. It's clean and has a traditional vibe. Would recommend anyone that is visiting the town or playing at their breathtaking golf course.

Town was lovely. Hotel is a golf course right on huge beach. Service was fantastic. Room had great view of course and water. Only negative was our room had a traditional “double bed”. So we felt cramped sleeping at night. Room could hold a larger one. So hoping they upgrade for future guests. Enjoy our stay immensely.

Staff extremely friendly. Dinner really good with the most incredible view. Easy to walk to Dornoch which is a lovely Town and well worth a look. Sadly only here for one night as there are beautiful walks which I would have liked to explore

Not value for money. The room is small and uncomfortable. The room is like a dormitory, and actually worse…

Was nice location
Nice staff
Room was clean
Asked few times for more tea in room and got a whole 2 teabags and a 10 sugars!? Asked at breakfast if we could move table and got told no , it wasn’t possible when plenty tables available. One fire door was letting loud noise out and when asked staff if they could sort noise got told no and they didn’t know it was fire door. Noticed place had many Americans staying and staff was happy to run around after them I felt I did not get the same level of service!

One of the best hotels I have stayed at in the Highlands. Good value. Love the view out of the room onto the golf course and sea. Food was good quality. Spoilt for choice at breakfast.

Really comfortable stay, lovely staff and great kippers for breakfast. Swimming and beach jogging around 1 minute from the hotel. Doesn’t have to be golf. Thank you

Great stay at the Royal Golf, friendly staff, comfortable room and delicious evening meal and breakfast. Adjacent to first tee at Royal Doroch and 5 mins from lovely beach, highly recommend.

Pretty good overall, close to the airfield so we stayed here as it was about a miles walk and easy to get to. Lovely place to visit

We stayed here as a one night stop as we did the NC500.
A pleasant hotel with good COVID arrangements in place. We ate in the main restaurant which was OK, although service was slow on the evening we were there.

My husband and I stayed for a two night break which was wonderful from start to finish. I had requested a room with a view and we were given a beautiful room overlooking the first tee.
The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and the service was first class.
The receptionist was especially helpful when trying to source a days fishing for my husband.
Breakfast on both days was cooked to order and delicious. We had dinner on the second night and that was also delicious.

Disappointing stay. Arriving at 6pm to check in I was asked if I would like to eat in the restaurant but then bizarrely immediately told it was full - why even ask? On responding to say I was hoping so since it was a long day the lady at reception seemed really accommodating saying she would go check. However when getting to the restaurant, at the allocated time, the professionalism of staff seemed to go out the window. Had to sit and listen to a constant beeping behind me due to the fire door being open. When questioned if it could be closed (even the sign on the door said ‘keep closed’) I was told no. On check in, due to covid rules I was informed I needed to book a breakfast slot. Although immediately told the restaurant was almost full and I could only go down at one of two slots - way earlier than I intended. As it was just myself staying I booked a single room. Layout of the room made things awkward, nowhere in the bathroom to store/hang a towel, the radiator looked like it needed changing many moons ago, unless you are 6ft you couldn’t reach the blinds to close/open, you also needed to close the bathroom door in case of setting off the fire alarm. Overall not the best of stays and I haven’t even had breakfast yet.
