Great stay very relaxing. Hotel was great

This was a birthday celebration. Had difficulty crossing the doorway threshold with my wheelchair. Once in, I found dirty towels tossed on tge countertop. Looked about the room and it was seemingly clean. Upon a closer look, I discovered tape hanging from the ceiling as if a banner had been removed, no hand soap in the bathroom, a dirty shower curtain and no bath chair in the roll in shower. It was just as difficult to get in and out of the across its threshold. The hotel staff, though pleasant, was very uninformative. No one could tell me how to correctly access room service, how to connect to television internet or how to turn off the light behind the bed (was told by housekeeping the switch would not control the lamp and was probably miswired). I had attempted several times to call the front desk, housekeeping and room service using the room telephone but no department answered. Calling by chance with my cell phone, I connected with the front desk and was told that I first had to dial 0 to reach the front desk even though I had lf onlf the button on my room .
front desk. The phone was marked with the consierges' room number but somehow found itself on the fifth floor. i never did get television internet or room service and navigated over the strives to with a couple of pushes. I was happy to find that the hotel was wheelchair accessible but I don't feel that Marriott strives to provide its disabled customers the same luxury experiences as its nondisabled customers.

I was very unhappy that I couldn’t control the temperature. I was cold during my entire stay. When I first arrived there was only sheets on my bed. I complained and they gave me a throw blanket. I would have expected true blankets and a comforter

My two nights stay was great. The room on the 17th floor was modern and updated in trendy decor. The staff were awesome. Hazel, at the bar was personable and customer service oriented. She was so sweet and caring with my grandchildren. My stay was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel. The location was outstanding.

The bartender and waitress were amazing. Loved the place

Room was clean and quiet. The property is beautiful and updated. Front desk wasn’t the nicest and seemed to have attitudes but I enjoyed my stay and would come back.

The front desk staff were very friendly and our room was very clean. My only complaint is not being able to adjust the room temperature. It was slightly warm in our room while we were sleeping, but other than that it was great!

Just one but stay was perfect

The room was filthy. Requested a new room, couldn't get one for the first night. It was very disappointing

Hotel appearance was beautiful. Wasn’t until the next morning and seen bed bugs. Was suppose to stay another day but couldn’t get over that

The room I booked was not available at check in. The hotel stated that they overbooked my room type. Extremely disappointed and no offer of resolution for the property.

The waterfront location and the patio fireside sites that were lit in the evening.
Can't wait until the renovations are complete and full dinning services are available.
Recommend that the place of safety grab bars be placed in the room showers. Some of us "old timers" need more stability in places like showers.

Older rooms in need of updates. Crib is actually a pack n play without mattress. Price was high in comparison to amenities.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely everyone seemed to be happy and they were all so hospitable. It was a great welcome to the area.
Loved the water view from my room too. I’d stay here again.

Great stay for 4th if July fireworks that night. Hotel even set up bar with food in lawn along water for spectators. View partially obscured by an apartment building but good enough. Located very near 2 ferry docks for travel across to Norfolk waterfront or I heard also a sports stadium in Norfolk.
Rooms were clean, staff friendly, parking deck, restaurant on premises. It was my second stay there

Pros: we had a beautiful view from our 9th floor room of the river, ships and skyline. The room was clean overall except it was hot and smelled mildew. Room service was good. We ordered breakfast. Very pricey but good. There are plenty of restaurants and shops near by that you can walk to or take the ferry over across the water to. The bell hop was nice and took our luggage upstairs to our room for us. Overall the staff was nice and friendly.
Cons: Our room was quite warm. The hotel is doing renovations . Thermostat said 62 and it felt like 76 degrees. We asked for an engineer to look at it on Friday night at around 11:30pm and he never showed. We wanted room service and there were no menus in the room. The main shower head at the top of shower had low water pressure while the shower head at the bottom was great. Called front desk and they didn’t have any new menus so they gave us an older one. Seems to be a breakdown in communication between the front desk and the kitchen staff. The staff show great effort in their jobs but the hotel could be better managed. Saturday morning at 7am we were awoken to a fire alarm which was terrible. We called the front desk and asked was it a real alarm and they investigated and called us back and said it wasn’t. We only received two towels and two wash cloths so we had to ask the front desk for more. I would definitely stay there again under the pretense that the room will have AC, no smells

First and foremost the fire alarm went off at 7am for several min, site is also making improvements so construction I can deal with that but the floors were very dirty in the room lots of dust around and under everything and the toilet seat was literally barely on the the toilet.

Over priced for a 3 star hotel….

The bathroom sink drain was extremely slow, washing your hands for 20 seconds and there the bowl is half full, takes about 15 minutes to drain. One of the two beds did not have a flat sheet, so just a comforter to sleep under. Called the front dest upon check in for this and was told i was mistaken. We were extremely tired, it was late and i just tried to sleep. The next day our family was out doing our thing, a tip was let on the table for housekeeping wirh a note asking for the additional sheet. When we returned to our room at 9 pm our room had not been cleaned which meant no clean dry towels ethier. I called the front desk explaining and asked for towels, was told they would be brought up shortly. Nothing at 10, called and was told it would be an hour, asked if i could come down and get some and was told they weren't available at the desk. At 11 i called again and was told i couldn't get towels until after midnight. I wouldn't ever book this hotel again. Should have considered the previous reviews closer prior to booking but i figured they were just dramatic complaints, i think i was wrong on that part.

Check in time was 4:00pm, arrived at 6:30pm and were told they had no rooms ready (housekeeping was understaffed and delayed significantly). We joined a waitlist with a handful of other hotel guests waiting for rooms to be cleaned and to get our keys. Got to the room around 7:30pm and staff at the front desk was polite about it but it was a major inconvenience when traveling with a small child who needed to get to bed. The front desk, to their credit, comped our daily parking fees which was kind of them for the inconvenience. Hotel was under renovations during our stay, which was not obvious when we booked. Several things simply weren’t working or were in poor repair. Most of these were small things- for instance, the water fountain in the fitness center wasn’t working, the toilet paper holder in our bathroom was broken, and the mini fridge in the room was broken. But the biggest knock against the hotel was the water- it smelled and tasted stinky. Even just washing your hands in the sink or taking a shower in the bathroom, the smell of the water was strong. There is a water bottle filler on the first floor off the lobby and even that has the smelly/nasty tasting water. Not sure if it is the pipes in this hotel or if this is typical for the area. This may not be an issue for some people, but if you are the kind of person who likes reusable water bottles and filling your water bottle regularly.

Could not check in and get a room unttil 6:45 pm. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.
Then no wash cloths and bathmat in room and only 2 towels. It took at least an hour and a half to get those delivered.Hotel is either grossly understaffed or incompetently managed or both.
Hardly worth paying $234.00 a night for a third rate property under extensive renovation.
A very pitiful representative of thearriott Rennaissance brand.

The ongoing construction impacted the stay and the cleanliness, especially in the lobby.

Under renovations. Very limited food selection at restaurant on site, but waitress was very nice. Parking entry and deck was tight. Long walks from parking to front desk and then to elevator. The gentleman greeting you were kind. The staff at the desk were not as friendly. Pool floors were slick and dangerous. Rooms did not have microwave, fridge was so low your food/drinks did not get cold, ac did not get below 72, bathroom door was off hinges and wouldn't close, and tv remotes did not work. I would expect more for the $ and from renaissance.
2.0
Rooms not very clean, table had no power to charge phones, need better coffee pots and should have microwaves for people who have long stays. Restaurant food not very good, it was either under cooked or over cooked.

Bathroom door wouldnt shut. First floor was under construction. Area seems okay. Excited to see progress after renovations are completed. Staff mostly friendly.
