Very quiet and relaxing

Reception was robotic and not in the least welcoming. Room and hotel very good as was pool area. Restaurant not open. Breakfast OK. Been to many Pousadas, this one the bottom rung. Pity as nice building and setting.

Room was great and specious. Balcony was comfortable to watch the view. The only thing, during the day it’s quite warm in the room. Good and service is great too.

Lovely and quite getaway from lisbon if you are into nature and wine

Aside from the kitchen not being able to serve lunch or dinner, the breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff is wonderful and easy to communicate with as we speak English as our primary language.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Very tired pousada. Needs a paint job and a good cleaning.
The bed was very hard making it an uncomfortable sleep. The sheets were hard and scratchy.
This hotel didn’t seem like the other paradors and pousadas that I’ve stayed in, in the past.

The building is beautiful from the outside. The rooms are dated, with old/damaged furniture. Dusty and with dirty carpets with stains that had been there for ages. Disappointing for a property with so much potential.

A splendid work of architecture, extending the monastery into an actual hotel, convenient and comfortable. Exceedingly integrated in a wonderful landscape, the freshness of trees, sweet slopes of beautiful hills, an oasis in the Alentejo heat.Fantastic experience.

The Pousada is set in a wonderful location in a peaceful valley surrounded by beautiful woodlands and meadows. It’s hard to imagine a more idyllic setting. The main features of the Convent have been tastefully preserved with modern facilities added to ensure all comforts and convenience. All staff were very welcoming and helpful.
We ate in the restaurant for four evenings and found the service and food quality good. The menu was the same each evening and a wider choice would have been preferred. However, stay here. It’s great.!
Forgot to mention. It’s a great breakfast.

Lovely hotel in middle of countryside

We loved the hotel, the rooms are spacious and modern with a large bathroom and black out shutters, we slept so well! The setting is beautiful in the middle of the Alentejo countryside and the hotel combines the old monastery with modern design beautifully.
If there was a criticism, it would be that staff at breakfast could be a bit friendlier - it felt like they were trying to avoid you, and that the hedge around the pol area is cut down. It’s a shame to be in such a stunning setting and not to have a view from the pool. Everything else was great and would come back

This is the place for a quiet getaway outside of a small town. The pousada is very very clean and the breakfast is just fine...all that you need!

Beautiful hotel, great staff, really friedly and professional. The location is great, in the countryside with great views, very quiet and great to rest and enjoy the country. Must see the church of the pousada. Arraiolos is a nice vilage, with some cultural things to do and very good restaurants. Highly recomend.

Beautiful historic property sensitively transformed into a hotel. The surroundings are peaceful and unspoiled

Despite the good location , the facility needs refurbishment

As you would expect a converted convent. Spa retreat is appealing. Try the dinner in the village and have black pig and mashbread asparagus.

We ended up in this pousada after we were not able to get accommodation in Evora. Initially we booked for 2 nights but we were so impressed with this property that we stayed an extra day. We used it as a base to tour the surrounding countryside and the medieval towns. Would definitely recommend it and would stay here again.

A most peaceful and beautiful place with a fascinating local town
4.0
Quiet, peaceful hotel and location. I would rate it at a four star rather than five. The standard rooms are quite small so it is worth viewing the room first and consider upgrading to the larger room. No entertainment or night life. Hotel is a fantastic old building with a lovely church attached and beautifully preserved ceilings and convent cloisters. It is quite a walk to the nearest village in the heat as it is all uphill. The food was just average and as there were very few guests staying there were not many staff around. It is quite convenient to stay here and visit Evora which is about 11kms away. Stay at this hotel if you want a quiet relaxing break and a very different experience to a chain hotel.

I traveled to Arraiolos to attend the annual festival that celebrates the eponymous tapestries. The festival was amazing and I'm so pleased that I had the opportunity to attend!
This Pousada is not in town but set about 1 mile out of town. The location is pretty spectacular with beautiful views, an extraordinary little church and a beautiful kitchen garden on the property.
I made my reservations late and the only room left was the smallest. It was small and the bathroom was a litle "creepy" and the view overlooking the parking garage was accessed by a small window that you couldn't open because there was no screen.
The service was kindly delivered by various young professionals.
A big, delicious plate of fruit was brought to my little room each afternoon which I enjoyed and appreciated.
They made arrangements with the tourist office for a private tour of the town.
The breakfast buffet was generous.
Dinner was expensive and tasty - but service was a very slow, too slow for a person traveling alone.
Internet connection was available in common areas only.
If I return, I will opt for a nicer, larger room.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Pousada de Arraiolos. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. We ate in the restaurant on our first night which was delicious (although on the expensive side) and the experience was very much enhanced by the knowledgeable staff who were more than happy to answer our questions on Portuguese specialities.
The hotel is very calm, has been beautifully restored and redesigned and has a great view onto the castle of Arraiolos.
A lovely place to go to relax, be treated well and enjoy the quiet. A good base for visiting the local wineries, Evora and the various megalithic structures.

Great historical building converted in a magnific way. It is worth a detour just to stay for a night.
