When me and my girlfriend checked in the first meal we ate she got sick then I got sick later on and after using our toilet it broke I called the front desk after googling the phone number cause there was no info on how to contact them I told them the toilet broke we need a new room they said they would send somebody to fix the problem so I gave them a chance to fix it and after 2 1/2 hours no one came so we checked out in the morning and they still had the nerve to charge me for the night of hell we spent there that ruined our trip and was extremely difficult dealing with them just to get the nights I diddnt spend there back money wize. I was hoping for some consideration but apparently management is a no show there and they don’t take there guest’s safety and enjoyment seriously so like I said we checked out from there and will not recommend this resort by far

Everything is bad in this hotel . I left my mom in the hotel room 1012 with the red tag on the door so no one can disturb her sleeping the time was 645 pm . While my husband and I left to a dinner / lounge for his bday as we were walking he remember he left his wallet on the table he was gonna go back and get it but I told him it’s ok I have money . When we came back around 2 am .i notice A new water bottle was on the table . I ask my mom who came inside the room but she doesn’t remember due to her sickness . We had a little drink in us we didn’t think abt his wallet . The next morning my husband was looking for his wallet and said I left my wallet on the table and it’s gone . There was $650 , license and credit cards .He went to do a report asap . Two ladies came in with and man . He was looking around the room like if we were lieing and a computer to check if the door was force in . The next morning he told one of the lady to tell us we use our key card to go in around 10 pm . Mind you we came around 2 am . My husband was furious when she told him this . This situation was an inside job and mind you there was a camera by our door . Shame to this hotel . If that’s how they work stealing people belongings they should all get fired . S. Cardenas

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed! Check in was easy and simple. Roberto was wonderful, very helpful and brought us and our luggage to the room and to the lobby when it was time to leave. Whenever we needed a ride to a different location on the resort, if he was around, he took us without question! The room looked exactly like the photos, beautiful. Room service cleaned everyday and did a great job. Carlos was great, explained the entire resort to us, where to eat, the pools and bars were. My honest opinion, I love to eat and wasn’t too thrilled with the food there. My kids enjoyed it of course, me not so much. The breakfast buffet in the mornings was great! Paerce coffe shop was yummy! Sports bar was cool as well, definitely could find something to eat there and is open 24 hours. My favorite a la carte restaurant was Sumptuori which we reserved for our last night of our stay. I really wish we found it our first day. Everything from the ambience, the cooking show, food and service was excellent! Eddie from Foundations set us up on a buggy tour which was fun! We drove the buggies, partied in an open fresh water cave, and got to see the culture and the rawness of the countryside of DR. The beach was breathtaking, OMGGG! The resort is huge, very clean and I can’t wait to return again. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Im usually not one to complain, but after a lot of research i booked this property for our family vacation. I have to say it wasnt great at all...
Cons: Food was absolutely horrible. I was actually shocked at how bad the food was.
La Uva by the beach there was literal roaches on the bread. Food was not covered and filled with flies on it. All buffets we similar to this situation. I get it stuff happens, but honesty get clear covers to cover the food and keep them safe from creepy crawlers.
Food was old there is no denying that. Desserts were old tasted like literal cabinet. Like it was in a cabinet for 2 years. Which makes no sense being that there is so much movement of food from all the ppl there. Which had my husband and I questioning do they just buy old food at a discount price?? It was disgusting to say the least.
STAFF.. Honestly pretty rude at times and some were great, but i guess that happens. Maybe it was the language barrier as really no one speaks English.
We asked for basic things like toothpaste and we never got it. We really never got anything we asked for. We would chase the cleaning ladies down for towels and water. It was a bit absurd.
Cleaning - they never really cleaned. I would leave the dirty towles on the floor in a pile and they would never take them. One day i took the towels to the cleaning lady made her open a bag and helped her to put them in and get new ones. And even with the sign on the door to clean it usually never happened.

I recently visited Playabachata Bahia de Maimon from August 16 to August 20, 2024, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had.First, the condition of the rooms was absolutely unacceptable. The bed had noticeable stains, the walls had significant cracks, and worst of all, the room was infested with bed bugs and other insects. The shower was barely functional, and the presence of black mold was particularly alarming. This was especially concerning because two members of my family, including my son, have severe asthma, and exposing them to such an environment was extremely dangerous. The hotel did offer alternative rooms, but unfortunately, these rooms had the same issues—mold, insects, and general disrepair. Even the so-called “better suite” they offered was just as bad. The fact that they thought these accommodations were acceptable is beyond understanding. When I tried to address these issues with the hotel staff, they were unhelpful and dismissive. They suggested that I contact Expedia for a refund, but when Expedia reached out, the hotel refused to approve it, despite the clear and serious health risks we faced. This lack of accountability and care for their guests is unacceptable. I was forced to leave the hotel because it was simply unsafe for my family to stay there. It’s clear that the management is more interested in making excuses than actually providing a safe and comfortable environment for their guests. If you're considerin

I had an issue with my room since the first day. The door wasn’t easily unlocked unless you tackled it. I had to go to the lobby three times to report it since over the phone there was no help. They said they fixed it, yet I had to go the next day for the very same thing. I was on my honeymoon with my wife and not being able to get into our room when we needed to was one of the most frustrating experiences I ever had in a resort, and the lack of caring from the Guest Service department was the most disheartening thing.

First, I would like to say if you are looking just to stay in your room this place is for you. It’s a lot of walking, waiting for trains in the hot heat to get to your destination not a lot of amenities that I saw for adults a secret pool that I’ve never seen And the bellboy let’s talk about the bellboy or customer service. I lost my keys at two in the morning. My husband was drunk. I went to the counter to see if I can get another key. I was questioned why I don’t know my room number because my husband has the key cards. The man was rude. Said I didn’t have a hotel room there refused to give me a key card I yelled at him to look for my information instead of sending me places at 2 o’clock in the morning, instead of helping me disgusting thing I had to endure not only to walk at 2 o’clock in the morning to find the counter which was almost a 3 mile walk from my room and at the end he told me next time remember your room number I will never go back to that hotel

Very nice resort. Pillows and bedding is comfortable. Resort is very big and the people are very kind. We enjoyed the trip !
We loved Yanet who checked us in and Jose Luis from the pool bar who makes the most amazing drinks.
Things they should improve on, I’m not a fan of making reservations for dinner and for this resort, you need to make reservations for dinner in advance even if it’s just two people.
Lastly, the pool on the Bavaro side is a bit dirty. We mainly used the pool on the palace side
