Staff not friendly. Caffe not available in the room . Caffe suppose to be available in the bar but after waiting about 8 minutes for the staff, I quit.

Very nice hotel ,very well located ,located close to city center ,easy to find. Rooms are very nice ,free parking, and excellent breakfast, one of the best in portuguese hotels. The hotel is located on a old charming house with a very nice garden and pool,it has been rebuilt keeping the old charming and looks . I will go back for sure.

Superb Hotel and Room. The only minus point is the location which is a few KM outside the City Centre meaning a Taxi is essential.

The staff was very friendly/helpful and the grounds/building were beautiful but my room was FREEZING and the heater doesn’t face the bed so it seemed to never get better.

Beautiful manor turned hotel - we enjoyed our stay. Everything was close by . We got there around 5pm , left at 9 am - walked the town and got to see about 10-11 churches . Following morning drove to bom de jesus do monte - what a treat - it was raining, and we enjoyed it - can’t imagine this magical place on a beautiful sunny day

This hotel is tired in dire need of a total face-lift. Out of all the hotels we stayed in Portugal, Villa Garden was the worst. Hallway smelled of cigarette & the carpets are old & stained and in need of a change. In one word it is a sad hotel. Too bad because the property has a lot of potential. The staff also didnt seem to really care about their guests

The best features of this hotel for us were the location, close to the centre of Braga, and the huge size of our room. It is clearly converted from an old building and could do with a bit more updating in the rooms, but the spaciousness made up for this in both the room and bathroom. The restaurant was closed on a Monday night when we were there, which was a bit disappointing, but the breakfast the next morning was very good. It looks like there are pretty outdoor areas, but, as we were there on a rainy autumn day, we didnt get to make use of these.

Once there enjoyed our stay. Hard to find. Hotel sign not easily seen. Missed entrance so had to do traffic again to return to entrance.

Cool kitschy property. Nice rooms. Beautiful grounds. Not as close to the city center as described. But still a good value.

The room was clean and inviting after travelling all day. The staff were very helpful for our next destination of Portugals National Park and the breakfast was a treat.

It was very difficult to find as it is on a one way street. Better directions to the hotel would be nice . The hotel is very nice, comfortable bed, nice terrace and pool

I was looking for two main things - a place with on-site parking and within walking distance of the town center. This property has adequate on-site parking, and is within walking distance of the town center. It is located in an old villa and therefore, has that old world feel to it. Tall ceilings and classical decor. They also have good breakfast spread.

As I was here for business, being picked up and dropped of, I can only judge the hotel itself. Rooms are clean, the buidling seems to be an old family palace or similar. Breakfast was good with plenty of options for me. Complimentary Vinho Verde at the reception in the afternoon and a good bar for the rest. The swimming pool seems small but I didn’t use it. I would definitely consider coming back here next time that I am in Braga.

The stay was nice, the staff friendly, the room clean and pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was very good, lots of fresh fruit. Only trouble was the air conditioning, which was very strange to handle. Other than that a very nice hotel.

super unfriendly staff, we got yelled at by the Director of the Hotel for having my sister join us at the room for coffee ( w/ me and my mom) since he says that a third person accessing the room would be chargeable. honestly, I dont know how someone that is so impolite and angry can work in the hospitality industry. he said QUOTE didnt care about your explanation or situation and that what he thinks is absolutely right because he is the Director. Im like, well, if you put it that way, Im not going to spend my vacation time getting angry and arguing with you. I asked him how much, he wasnt able to show a tariff of third person accommodation but he said its EURO25 so off I gave him just to shut him up (also, afraid that he was going to hit me or scare my mom or something). he was really angry, I even asked him calmly why he was so nervous but he couldnt get it together. lastly, I paid the extra bed but the hotel didnt provide us any extra bed nor amenities nor nothing. they just got the money and done. (not that we needed it so we didnt chase them since we werent having a 3rd person staying). hotel-wise, wasnt really that great. lobby / public area was good but rooms were like 1 star hotels. would NEVER stay again regardless of the bad service received.

This could be an amazing place to stay in a lovely old Braga mansion house. Unfortunately the pool was empty, the carpets were frayed and most of the rooms seemed not to be in use - given that the place was empty and we still ended up in a basement room. Having said that the staff were friendly and the rooms were kept clean and it is 5 minutes walk from the Catholic University and 20 minutes walk from the centre.

Everything was what we expected. However we were dismayed when charged 8 Euro for a small glass of Port, (same drink availiable in supermarket opposite at 10 euro a bottle.
