College visit. Hotel staff super friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable stay. Rooms are currently being upgraded whivh will be nice. Good breakfast and nice pool area. Conveniently located near all Charleston has to offer.

The check in process was smooth. I don't recall the lady's name, but she was very nice. We entered our room and there was a strong stench of mildew. I went back to the front desk. A different room was offered, where someone was sent to first inspect the room. He returned, after a long absence, and advised the room was good. I was then given the key and decided to check for myself. Walking down the hall, there was a terrible odor. I walked into the room, and of course, it smelled as though it had been freshly deodorized and the furniture had stains. We decided to sightsee and go to the store where I purchased Lysol and Febreze. When we returned to our room, the fresh deodorized scent had worn off and a mildew smell was there. I sprayed Lysol on the furniture, curtains and the carpet. Waited a few minutes, then sprayed Febreze on the same. Repeated before bed. We were there for 5 nights and sprayed everything for 3 days before leaving our room. The stench remained in the hallway. I was told that maintenance was working on getting rid of the smell in the hallway, but I guess it was never figured out. They were also in the process of renovating so it was very noisy, the rooms do not keep much sound out as we could hear orher things going on outside of the room. When booking, it would've been nice to advise of the remodeling. I spoke with Shye-Kairah regarding my concerns, she was super duper nice and offered to move our room again. We declined. Will never again stay here.

It would have been VERY helpful to know that this hotel was in the middle of a renovation. Moly dishwasher, musty rooms, fans and vents falling out of walls, construction blocking exits and happening right outside my window. Elevators not working. It’s different when you book somewhere knowing this is going on— it was disgusting.

Overall our stay was fantastic. The quality of the room was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and customer friendly. Our only complaint is that we did not have good hot water. It took forever before you had hot water. Some of us had to take cold showers because of the lack of hot water.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was amazing from the time we checked in Thursday evening at 2330 . The gentleman that check is in was very friendly and kind. The breakfast staff was absolutely amazing and so helpful with all the guest needs. This was such a great location as well. We will definitely be back.

We choose the Hotel due to the location and proximity to the beach and shops. However, the hotel room offered was very dated, subpar accommodations, bugs in the room, I couldn't take it, mold spots along the tub and shower, shower head was scummed and barely had water coming out. Very sad and not worth the money, would not recommend until this place is renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful.

THE FIRST ROOM THEY GAVE US HAD MOLD GROWING ON THE CEILINGS AND SMELLED BAD. THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK RIGHT ON THE ROOM THEY MOVED US TO; IT WAS COLD AND MOIST IN THE ROOM. WE WERE THERE FOR 5 DAYS AND AT THE END OF OUR STAY MOLD BEGAN GROWING ON THE CEILINGS. THEIR EXCUSE WAS THAT TS DEBBIE KNOCKED OUT THEIR A/C AND THEY WERE STILL TRYING TO WORK OUT THE KINKS. WHEN THEY PROVIDED MAID SERVICE TO CHANGE OUT THE TOWELS THEY NEVER EMPTIED THE GARBAGE.

If I could give this place a ZERO I would! We came for my daughter’s 7th birthday. We found a Bed Bugs in the bed! It was crawling on the pillow! I called the front desk and they moved us to another room. Once we got to that room, I ended up killing 3 spiders over a 3 hr time frame! The next day I saw another type of bug I’m not sure what it was but we ended up leaving a day early because I was to afraid of my immunocompromised 2 year old being bit by something and us landing a hospital admission! I was never offered a refund or complimentary night. NOTHING. Everytime I asked to speak to management I was told to “come back” they weren’t available. I will never bring my family back here. Not to mention, they had another family in the bed bug room not even 14 hours after moving us out! Absolutely disgusting.

Arrived early and was told I could check in early for a fee. As I sat in the lobby witnessed people requesting rooms and getting right in. There was a leak in our room and carpet and kitchen area soaked. The staff was very helpful and nice in getting us another room. The place really needs renovations and did not know it was pet friendly

Excellent stay, nice beds, and to have the AC built in the wall, and not this unit under the window, made it much better. Nice pool and basketball court. Breakfast had issues with supply, creme cheese, cherios and banans was out. This is really a thing to improve, but I will go there again. It was just that drawback but we survived :). So nice they have real cuttlery, and not these plastic dispossable plates etc.

This is our third year staying at this hotel. It’s close to the beach and many dining and shopping options. Our room was clean, breakfast was good, and our son loved the pool

Would be great to equip better the kitchen. We have only one spoon for 3 people ( and the dinner was ready, vegetable cream). Has to use the mugs.
Only a few dishes & cutlery, and no soap refill for the dishwasher and nothing was provided to wash the dishes in the sink.

The stay was ok. Beware rm 202 is next to the elevator mechanical room so it was noisy every time someone called for the elevator. We had to sleep with a noise app to drown out the sound. We had a problem with an incidental charge on our credit card and it took multiple calls to get it resolved. An extra credit was given to us for our inconvenience. Also at breakfast the doors to the kitchen were always open which allowed flies around the buffet.

Locked out of my room 2 times at night. One night of returning I had to wait over half an hour, they did not get me my card to enter until next morning. Night after desk clerk had to call manager in from home to get me in my room, they did not have my name registered after being a guest for 2 nights previously, needed my credit card again, would not get me in my room for 2 hours, had to wait in the lobby. I told them my credit card was in my room. They totally ignored me when I told them that. Customer service is the worse I have EVER experienced & I am a Hilton Honors member😩
I am 73, on my own and I was extremely distraught and exhausted by this 3 night stay!!!!
I hope that this company contacts me to rectify these issues and does not happy to any other guests.

We had stayed here before with no issues. This time there were so many bug/spiders/roaches that we found in the hallways, bed, and bathroom that we couldnt even stay both nights. Needless to say we were more than disappointed and only got half a refund for the day we didnt stay.

Probably the nicest Homewood Suites we have ever stayed at! Beautiful convenient location to shpes, food, beach and Charleston. Staff were very courteous and accomodating! Just my reen daughter and I traveling- felt very safe!

I was disappointed that we checked in on July 17th, but our room was not cleaned until the 20th, even after I personally asked the housekeeper to service the room. After going to the front desk in person to request that the room be serviced, the receptionist asked too many investigative questions about why it may not have been cleaned. As I previously stated, I told the receptionist that I had personally asked for it to be cleaned, but it was not. Even after the room was finally cleaned, the towels were not replaced, meaning that I was again inconvenienced and had to go get clean towels. Also, there were an excessive number of flies in the food area.

This property is garbage! Do not waste your money staying here another huge let down from Hilton with their outdated and dilapidated properties. There is virtually no lighting inside the rooms, the HVAC barely functions and when it is running you can’t hear yourself think…the room was so dirty when we arrived trash was pushed into the corners and under the beds. The pillows and bedding had mold on them, the refrigerator smelt like Bundy left a head inside there too long without power. There were electrical outlets in the room without a cover plate and bugs coming out of them. My wife has bites on her and we aren’t sure yet if they are bed bugs. The room stunk so bad. The towels and rags seemed to just be used and not washed from the rank smell the sheets smelt disgusting and the pillows had mold on them as well under the disgusting pillow case.. The bed was like trying to sleep on the floor. There was food in the sink drain when we got there and fresh food on the stove not even burnt like no one even wiped it down. Just all around a horrible place to stay. Will never stay again! Probably done with Hilton in General at this point.

It’s very easy to miss the entrance on Riviera at night. Better lighting would help. Also, the name of the hotel is difficult to see when pulling into the circle.

We never encountered an employee who didn't want to help with any of our needs or wasn't friendly just passing by in the hall. Our bed was uncomfortable but no one else had any problems sleeping so I must have just missed my bed at home. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to seeing the remodel they have coming up.

The hotel was very well maintained and the grounds are pretty. The room was clean and the bed comfy. I would suggest new pillows as these were flat as a pancake! My one issue, and the reason I chose this hotel, was the kitchen. I don't like to go out to eat each night due to the cost, so having a kitchen was a plus. Unfortunately, it states that the kitchen is fully stocked, but it was not. No mixing/serving bowls (couldn't toss a salad), no spatula, a can opener that did not work, no kitchen scissors to open packages and no dish soap. Hopefully, as they are going through updating areas of the hotel, they will update the kitchens also. Otherwise, enjoyed my stay as it was close to the beach.
