The grounds and the buildings are very nice, well kept, and the tavern restaurant has a lot of character. The front desk personnel are very polite and helpful. It’s very convenient being inside the NP. The spring fed pool is very big, with lots of seating around it and plenty of towels. Although it’s advertised as being warm, the temperature of the water is only lukewarm. We had one of the cheaper rooms, and though it was clean, the plumbing fixtures are old, and there was mildew in the tub/shower. The restaurant has a limited menu, as to be expected in the middle of nowhere.

The water went out , the internet was non existent and I manager thought that was not a problem.

This is the best place to stay while visiting Death Valley National park. The whole
Complex has all the amenities. The general store is excellent, restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, costly though. Overall excellent place.

Little choice in National Park. This is good. But our room was near the ladders, so it is very noise in the early morning when many people come out to sunrise.

Not what I expected. Restaurants 2 blocks away. Couldn’t find room. Poor directions. Food expensive and not very good

Really nice place to stay for a couple of days. Close to all the sites we wanted to see. Restaurants were great. We did the buffet one night and the Last Kind Words Saloon two nights. The only thing it lacked was laundry facilities. Other than that it was a great relaxing place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

Great property, beautiful aesthetics. Rooms are great, restaurants too. There’s shops and an ice cream parlor on site. Gem of a property!

overprice for the quality and service .
Room are old and there is no isolation.
Nevertheless it's clean
The food (buffet) was also overprice for poor quality.

This is what happens when a hotel operator has a monopoly. There is only one hotel operator in Death Valley. They also control the restaurants. The restaurants are expensive and poor quality. They don’t clean the rooms daily despite charging over $200 a day. The rooms are closer to a motel than a hotel. It’s like a two story apartment building. It felt cheap and worn out.

Stunning location and a lovely sprawling ranch as the main areas of the hotel. Room was a great size, comfortable beds and decent bathroom - it felt tired and a bit run down, but totally fine for using to sleep in. Nice table and chairs outside looking across part of the golf course to the mountains. The saloon bar was great - we had drinks and dinner there and it was a fun place with a lot of history on the walls and a good menu. A few members of staff didn't seem that happy or engaging - particularly in the golf club bar and front of house in the saloon bar - and the ice cream parlour service was not good at all. Table servers in the saloon bar were, however, great. Check in was easy, parking plentiful and the best part was the surprise museum on site -it included a steam train and the wagon train pulled by the 20-mules lugging borax - well worth a visit as there were lots of artifacts. Generally speaking it was a good visit - stunning surroundings with the fab ranch to wander round, but the service wasn't as good as other hotels we experienced on our road trip.

There is a need for renovation

The rooms are spacious and clean. They don’t provide housekeeping for 1-3 days stays. There is a fridge in the rooms but no microwave. You have to ask at the general store if you need to microwave dinner and such. There was no free water upon check-in either.
It was a decent stay! Thank you so much for all that you do!

Roomy cottage. Very quiet. Easy to walk to dining. The pool is warm and relaxing.

Room was very nice, has a very good museum, golf, swimming pool, stores and restaurants. Plenty to do and see since you're in Death Valley. I just stayed 1 night.

The Wildrose Sports Bar was the best value dining option in the complex. Friendly staff there and in the attached golf shop.

The accommodation is adequate but the village itself is tired with lack of leisure facilities that were advertised. The bars were really good and staff very attentive

Beautiful hotel/resort style right in the park. Wish we had time to enjoy the amenities . Dinner was good at the steakhouse. Clean and comfortable room. One negative is the air did not cool to wjat it was set at, could be problematic in the summer.

Not super clean. States they are upgrading athletic amenities but they should spend funds to upgrade room or get better cleaning equipment. Wasn’t very clean, at all.

Great stay in an amazing location

The room itself was fine & comfortable. I especially enjoyed the north-facing balcony; a nice place to eat breakfast before the day got too warm. The grounds were nice, and I made use of the pool. BUT: the mini-frig had no freezer compartment; and there was no microwave! I guess the idea was to force you to eat at their expensive restaurants.

Very good stay, 1 night only after visiting Death Valley POI’s. Plenty of parking. Room was clean and comfortable with fridge & coffee facility& ice machine at end of block, however corridor to room was messy had not been hoovered with lots of debris on the carpet. Pool was good and refreshing in the DV heat. Restaurant was very in keeping with the DV theme, food & service was very good. Gift shop & food store catered for all our needs. Highly recommended especially for location to POI’s.

I read the reviews and if I had read them before booking I would not have booked with this property. I just want to say that our stay was amazing from check in to check out. The check in was very professional, the room was great, the beds were comfortable, our dinner at The Saloon was very good and our waiter was very polite and on spot. The grounds were well kept and the pool fed with spring water was very refreshing. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The air conditioner was not working in our room and the maintenance guy that came to check it basically told us it was because it was so hot outside. We called again to front desk and asked for a new room and they switched us to another room, which the air conditioner worked. We went over to eat dinner, only to find the restaurant closing. They sent us to the saloon, which we were okay with, but they were out of a lot of food. We understand the heat but other places at the resort had air condition and it worked very well. A restaurant running out of food is poor management.

Not Ada compliant with parking. Food mediocre and expensive. Only good was that it was convenient to highlights in the park.

Hotel, pool and staff very good. Pool food was amazing. Rooms clean apart from hall way, need a good hovering. 2 things let the hotel down.
1 no water in rooms and if arriving afer 9pm shop closed and bar and restaurant shut.
2 Staying at the end of the complex block 800
Lighting very bad walked down the path which was wet. Husbsnd slipped and hurt neck and back
Otherwise great location.

Pro- excellent restaurant, staff are nice.
Con- properties need to be revamp, damage, wear and tear throughout , room and properties. Need a touch of light as parking at night really hard to navigate.

Great location, central most of Death Valley NP. Would stay again and again!

This hotel is centrally located. We got up early and went to Badwater Basin and drove the Artists' Drive. Then we came back to the hotel for breakfast. There are dining options, a gift shop and a convenience store.

On arrival in reception everything looked great. Cooling sprayers on and air con fully working (it was 48C/138F). We checked in the room-not only tired but dirty-bits of stuff on the carpet. Edges of carpet not clean at all. The corridor even worse. We tried to get the air con working without success. Phoned reception to be told “set it to 72F or the motor freezes”. We did this , still not working. Phoned reception back to ask for a different room. No quibbles , come to reception for key. Moved to new room-still grubby but air con working. Reception must know it doesn’t work in some rooms but still put guests in them-why??? It’s not a cheap hotel but clearly they feel they don’t need to try as only one other hotel around. On a positive-the pool area is lovely and it was great to swim in the dark at 9pm. Didn’t try the food as we’d read the poor reviews beforehand. This hotel needs a serious overhaul.

The Ranch is basically a complex of multi-unit buildings. The layout was a little odd to me.
Upon arrival and after check-in at 4:30 pm the first floor of our multi-unit building was completely covered in trash from one end of the hall to the other. I guess they were still cleaning the rooms and drag it all out into the hall. It looked terrible and smelled the same.
Ceiling fans were covered in dust. Bathroom caulking was coming loose and looked bad. The bathroom floor was filthy also. The entrance door to the complex was filthy and broken.
Air conditioner would not cool to setpoint. It struggled to maintain 75-80 degrees. It is hot here, but the HVAC unit was old and wore out.
Bed mattresses were cheap and not comfortable.
Staff was friendly. Stay and surrounding areas were quiet. Area felt safe. All the shops, stores, and restaurants at the Ranch are extremely expensive.
The Ranch overall is acceptable due to location. They seriously need to clean, modernize, and maintain the rooms.
I stayed here due to location. They know they can get by with more than other accommodations. The other local hotel (The Oasis) was over double in price.
Stay here if you need to. It will work. It is not terrible.
It was super nice not having to drive back out of the park at night. I would stay here again for the exact same reason.

Overpriced motel with fancy atmosphere to make it seem worth the money.. on top of it I paid $300 just to have to eat microwaved food in my room (which had to be heated at the general store since we don’t have an in room one) because the “restaurant” basically turned us away at 8pm because they had enough people waiting, even tho it was a Tuesday night and there didn’t seem to be that many people.. you’re telling me you can’t provide food service for those guests staying in your hotel when we have no other places to go in the area? On top of it I just noticed an additional charge on my card that I was NEVER told I would receive, and the lady I spoke with was incredibly rude when I inquired about this charge.

Dark in the parking lot for great star gazing!
The hotel was great. Had multiple weird experiences with the staff at the bar and restaurant around splitting a check three ways and initially getting seated.

I checked in at 5PM, the hottest time at DV, 119F, but what a nightmare to me is, a/c in my room not on and the balcony curtain to the west not fully close. It means the room is still too hot to sleep even at 1AM with noisy ac on. It really makes me disappointed. I think hotel staff could have done a better job.
