The phone in the room did not work. It was under the dresser unplugged. Getting service on the room was iffy... you had to request it, have your name on the list, and maybe they would get to it. I had to request towels several times because they didn't get to my room. For what we needed it for, the location was great. The front desk day staff was friendly, however the night staff was not as well versed in running a hotel. I would stay again, but my expectations are now in line with the property.

It was an okay place to stay. We were there just one night on our way through. Free breakfast was not something to count on. Very little to choose from. Ended up going through a drive thru. Definitely needs updating. Cracked tile in bathroom poorly “repaired “ with what looked to be caulk smeared over it. Scratches in the wallpaper. No elevator. Currently there is construction going on which makes it difficult to get to.

For the price this place was good. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was helpful. However, the TV was not easy to operate, the smoke detector was missing and the bath sink water was hooked up in reverse.

service was very friendly. We upgraded to a room with a king bed and a couch, with a table and a couple of chairs. It was fine except, there was an actual hole in the one wall about the size of a lemon, one wall had large scratches and black marks, and the air condition filter was nasty and full of lint.

I was traveling through. I got the wheelchair accessible room. The room was nice, the bed was good, the shower was the stuff of a third world hotel. The drywall and tile were horrible. The fact that the ownership set this quality aside for those in a wheelchair is reprehensible.

Recent updates to flooring and paint do not turn a cheap hotel into a luxury (priced) hotel. Musty smell. Only window had breach between its layers making the window translucent instead of transparent. It was clean.

This hotel is dated and farther away from the Glenwood attractions than I thought it would be (my mistake). The staff were not friendly, the property is dated and the breakfast was nothing great. Won't stay here again.

The side entrance door did not lock - it was duct taped so the lock on the door didn't lock. That is how they solve a problem when the card reader doesn't work I guess. So anyone can go in and out of the hotel anytime of day or night - My door did not lock unless I pulled the door shut hard or hip checked it once I was inside to ensure closure - unsafe is certainly the way I felt - the breakfast was very disappointing - just make 4 food items good. That's it; at one point there wasn't any coffee or OJ for well over an hour - I travel very frequently and the things that make a hotel great are hot water, shower pressure, bed and pillow comfort, simple and good breakfast, staff friendliness, and safety -

I wanted to stay in Glenwood Springs but everything there was too expensive so I went to New Castle and I am glad I did. New Castle seemed like a real western small town with a old west style downtown about a mile away. The hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was great. One geat amenity for was the laundry. Being able to get clean laundry half way through my cross country dirve was a fabulous bonus.

The property itself was clean and comfortable. The front desk person though was unfriendly after pulling up my reservation. When I checked in he looked at my reservation, made a phone call, spoke in another language and afterwards appeared to be angry that my internet rate saved me quite a lot on the nightly rate. He was there again in the morning when I checked out and was just rude in attitude. If they don’t like the internet discount then maybe they need to stop using the site

The shower curtain rod was broken. loose on the walls. Making it impossible to close the curtain. Walls near the bed were badly soiled and in need of painting. Rear security door would not latch. Breakfast was good.

Even though overall was ok and continental breakfast was good. Maid service was minimal, had to ask for it. Floors were dirty, turned my feet brown. Bathroom baseboards were stained with like spills. Your building needs pest service, we had couple spiders and ants in our room.

The Wingate was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. The first day it wasn't set up on time so we came back later. The orange juice was never available and on the third day they ran out of apple juice leaving coffee or nothing. Pets are welcomed. That is fine but someone had yappy little dogs that woke us up every morning. Our stay was adequate but not ideal. Oh, and the wifi wasn't available on Sunday. By Monday evening it was available and continued to work through the rest of our stay.

We waited about 10 minutes to get checked in because no one was at the desk, it was not after hours. We paid for a King suite and the room had a tiny 32 tv when my daughter’s regular room had a bigger TV ?? Breakfast was all microwaved. The pillows were great and the staff were nice. Seems a little overpriced for the age and condition of the hotel

There isn't an elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up a large flight of stairs if you're staying on the 2nd floor. The bathroom had some hair and maybe mold, or other aging and cleanliness issues. The staff was helpful and responsive, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. We stayed here because it was an affordable alternative and close to Glenwood Springs for the holiday weekend.

The property is in a very quiet place to rest. But the room we had to stay in was very dirty, we found several bugs inside the room and on the bed. The pool area is very dirty. There were spiders, earwigs everywhere. The exit door to the pool area did not close.
