Unfortunately upon arrival I was suffering from a head and chest cold. The walls are paper thin and I was snoring a bit loudly. My neighbor continued to pound on the wall throughout the night. I understand his frustration but I would suggest not staying here if you snore at all.

Lovely historic hotel, very well located, however, in need of renovation. The staff is kind and knowledgeable about the area.

Nice hotel and good location. Hotel did lack ambience, bit from location it’s perfect. No idea where the pool was.

I came here to visit a friend and fell in love with Escorial and the hotel. It is quiet but friendly and they will help you in what ever way they can! I will be back next year and as a person who has not traveled alone in Thirty something years that is a big deal.

We stayed overnight. Walkable to El Escorial . Many dining options . Public parking lot next door . You have the option of a buffet breakfast it’s €10 .

This is a great hotel, I assume the best in the town. It has a lovely feel to it. Very elegant building which the photos don’t do justice.
The staff especially the nice lady on reception were excellent.
Negatives are room was small and no facilities (no gym etc) but overall it was great value for money and we would stay again.

Great old school full feature hotel. Amazing place to stay especially balcony room. no real view but the morning light - ah! Friendly helpful staff.

Disappointing. I had stayed at this hotel several years ago and looked forward to returning, but this time had a small spartan room with tiny thin towels. The pool and pool area are still very good, and the hotel is a block from the bus station. Higher end rooms may be better.

Hotel is not even close to a two star hotel. Room is very small and my shower is dirty with lots and mildew. I have to use flip-flops to take a shower. Breakfast is bad too.

Would not class this as a 4 star hotel it should be a 3 star. Our room was ok but not as nice as the pictures online and looked a bit tired in need of some freshening up. Also paid quite a bit extra for a room with a balcony where others we were traveling with did not and they ended up with the same sized rooms, also with balconys with was frustrating!

This was a great value hotel with clean and spacious rooms and pleasant common parts. It’s location is ideal for the sights in San Lorenzo. The pool was open for guests and looked very inviting.

El precio demasiado elevado para no haber podido ir a la piscina debido a la gran ocupación que había, a pesar de haber reservado.

The staff is so wonderfully attentive I wish they had a better product to work with. The pluses for this hotel are the location (steps from the bus station and just down the hill from El Escorial) and the breakfast which is included in the room price is incredibly varied and quite tasty. The hotel has managed to hold on to its Old World feel but unfortunately the rooms are very beat up. I stayed in two different rooms and they were both in poor condition. The walls were covered with scuff marks, the bathroom ceilings had serious water stains, and both rooms had heating issues (in one room it did not work so it was cold, in the other room I was not able to regulate the temperature at all and it was way too hot) and the bathroom cleanliness in the second room left a lot to be desired. The food at the restaurant for dinner was not what one would expect from a 4 star hotel. It was a shame. I did want to like this hotel a lot. It wasnt horrible and my stay was short, but one does expect more from a 4-star accommodation. Still, the staff, especially Patricia, made up for it.

The reception staff here were excellent. Lovely and helpful.
The hotel needs work though. The rooms are stark at best, and definitely not as nice looking as the pictures.
The breakfast was pretty grim also.

I cannot write prices here, but this hotel has charged prices for photocopies which are otherwise paid for printing high-quality photos. In addition even though I said print 2 pages on one I was charged for each page. Really disappointing!
