My stay at this hotel in Plaka was nothing short of perfect. The staff were incredibly attentive, always ready to assist with a smile, and made me feel truly welcome throughout my stay. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views that took my breath away every day. The food was outstanding, and the breakfast was especially delicious, offering a great variety to start the day. This is easily the best place to stay in Plaka, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway!

The Phaea Blue Palace is amazing. The staff, the rooms, the dining are all superior. The staff is so helpful and kind. The view from the rooms are peaceful and breathtaking. It was a wonderful experience.

Very Nice :)

The property is old and lacks basics in the rooms. No connection to the TV, no speakers for music, no iron
It’s about time for a refit and restyle

My wife and I were quite impressed with the hotel facilities and super professional staff.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and enjoyed an exceptional time.
We ate at the Isola and Andos restaurants.
Food cooked over wood fire tasted subliminal.
Best option to stay in the Plaka and Agios Nikolai’s areas

I enjoyed my stay. Beautiful resort and stuff is very polite, helpful and friendly! Perfect spot if you are looking for luxurious and relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at Blue Palace. The staff is very friendly - especially the parking staff. There are lots of dining options on the property. The location is great. It is close to Elounda/Plaka, but not too close so it still feels private/peaceful. It has tremendous potential. The breakfast buffet is great - tons of options. Our only complaint is that everything feels very dated. Also, the 'private' pools are not very private.

Upon our late-night arrival, the staff showcased commendable hospitality, accommodating us gracefully. It set a positive tone for our stay, making it all the more disheartening to witness a dent in this welcoming facade: two young girls at the reception who consistently came across as standoffish. Their demeanor starkly contrasted with the other reception staff members, who were consistently amiable and proactive.
A standout amongst the staff was the concierge. He was not only resourceful but was the epitome of warmth, making him the most pleasant to deal with. His efforts significantly enriched our experience, and it was evident that he took immense pride in his role.
However, the overall charm of the hotel was dampened when we discovered the state of our private pool. A layer of green algae draped the rocky sides, suggesting a clear lack of maintenance. For a facility that's promoted as a highlight, it's paramount that it remains in pristine condition for guests to enjoy. Housekeeping was a roller-coaster, varying from immaculate attention to detail on some days to a cursory tidying up on others. The most unsettling issue came during checkout. To our dismay, we identified charges on our final bill for items and services we never availed. While the hotel was prompt in addressing and rectifying the mistake, such oversight raises questions on attention to detail and accuracy, both crucial in the hospitality sector.

We returned from 6 night stay. Beautiful large resort hotel. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Our bungalow room with patio was roomy and lovely view. Pools amazing, food delicious. Nearby to two villages, one within walking distance with nice restaurants. Hotel just over an hour taxi from Heraklion airport but worth it! The beach is stones but access from marina. Water crystal clear. Plenty of activities. We went to the full moon party which was fun, dj plus fireworks.
My only negative would be the holding of the Sun loungers at beach. Apparently not meant to book, but they were being held with towels, books and beach bags from 9.30 until after 2. This is unfair to other guests and could easily be monitored by the towel staff.

The Blue Palace is one of the most exceptional, stunningly beautiful hotel in Crete. Property cleanness but especially the staff, professional and very kind attitude makes this place even more special. Definitely a five star hotel.

I never take the time to leave reviews, but for this property I will. It's a spectacular setting, like blow your mind, and the service was outstanding -- luxury all around. Small examples -- the piano playing durning the gorgeous breakfast, live music at night, the speed boat you can hire at the end of the dock. Rooms needs a tiny bit of updating so ask to stay in the newer part of the resort, which I didn't see but assume furniture and fixtures are a bit more to date. Other than that, I couldn't believe how incredible the place was for the price...

The setting of this property is stunning. It sits in its own gorgeous bay across from an old leper colony. There are no other hotels in sight, which makes the views from the many balconies within Blue Palace Elounda even more enjoyable.

The location is amazing, got a beautiful view and nice swimming pool. The staff are very thoughtful and friendly, they have been well trained to provide high standard hospitality. The downside is the facility, the room is old and the noise isolation is none, you can easily hear every little noise from corridors and every little movement from upstairs, we have to wear earplugs all the nights to have a good sleep.

Our stay at the Blue Palace was absolutely amazing. The staff were attentive, helpful and our room was clean. The food was the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at.

You’ll love the location, the rooms are kept in great condition and clean, the beach area is really well done and ample room, the gym was well appointed and the staff were extraordinary. The only issue with this property is the design included no central walkway up the hill - so you wait for the tram up or walk up way around - although there is a secret way only the staff know, that I figured out ! I’ll definitely be back, in fact going back in 2 weeks!

Stayed at the Sepses Suite with a private pool overlooking Spinalonga. Room + Pool were excellent, staff is fantastic, friendly and eager to help in any way they can.
The only let down was the quality of the Room Service food, which was unacceptable for this hotel (Burger that was worse than that of a fast-food outlet, with bland ready made fries, a set of cheese-pies in the afternoon was clearly brought over from the breakfast buffet and reheated, not cooked from fresh).
Minor gripes were the illogically placed bannisters in the balcony, that do not permit you to enjoy the fantastic view if you are seated. What is the point of installing sky-high banners that prevent guests from enjoying the view they are paying for? Same for the pool area, you are looking at a low rock wall and not the view, which however is visible when you are seated on the deck.

First,no one came to pick up our car and our luggage. Then we had no viewing of the stiff property which is problematic when no one had told you about the only existing funicular.
Their English is poor.Male staff can be rude,e.g. declining to get you a coffee 5mn before the breakfast ends. They’ll clear the table though you’re not done, carrying dirty dishes from others.
Multiple times our car came 30mn late after chasing and bringing someone’s else car.Once they just dropped it at the reception, engine and key on and no one around.
More shocking, when we arrived at Sixt airport agency before flying, we realised that they had left the car key of another client into ours.
Expect them to enter your room, randomly call despite your privacy request. Staff is robotic and unable to address any unexpected remark such as a no when asking if you’re pleased with your stay (with no action).
Beach staff can be incredibly lazy (exception for the supervisor). They chill and can decline to bring you towels. No shame in letting elder people struggling to sit despite having the large area for suites almost empty.
Conciergerie missed a dinner reservation.
Final bill was twice wrong;we had to explain that is technically impossible that we had lunch before we checked in.
Even hotels.com supervisor complained about them when trying to modify our reservation, which never happened.
Don’t except a special treatment if you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, late checkout or upgrade, despite availability

This hotel is just amazing. The pictures and website do not do it justice. Ignore the comments on the slow funicular (it’s not!) and poor quality of food (not a bad meal in a week!), and do yourself a favor and book this place! We ate at every restaurant except the sushi place and all were fantastic. Service was second to none. Employees like Niki made our experience even more enjoyable.
My only complaint would be the typical Greek plumbing woes which I think can’t be escaped. As well as the rush for beach loungers. If you don’t stake your place by 10am you may not get a spot on the beach.
Kudos to all the staff and management for making our first foray over the pond in 4 years one to remember.

the staff and servers were very good! The big issue here is the wind made laying near the sea impossible! a beautiful island the people are wonderful.

20th anniversary holiday, so we chose The Blue Palace as location looked perfect, we weren’t disappointed, we arrived very early at 11:30 and our room was ready! Someone parked our car and took our cases to our room…customer service is second to none, we really felt looked after, the turn down service at night is a nice touch too. We had a pool room and it overlooked Spinalonga, which is well worth a visit. The food could not be faulted, breakfast had a huge choice of cooked, continental, fruit, cakes, omelette made to order. Isola restaurant was also fab, huge portions, we shared a caprese salad as starter and couldn’t finish it. Hotel is within touching distance of Plaka, a beautiful small village with lots of restaurants and 5-10 mins walk. Elounda was 2-3 miles away so a bit far to walk to, but lovely to walk round in the evening. It was a perfect holiday for us, highly recommend.

If you're going to be anywhere in the Mediterranean and or the Greek Islands, and are looking to escape, this is a great place to stay. Staff was attentive and accommodating, to say the least. Room was incredible. Two floors, one private balcony, one private pool. Room was on the top of the resort overlooking the water and Spinalonga island. Multiple restaurants on site. Private beach at the bottom. Spa. Don't need much else.

For the hotel rating we were expecting a bit more. The property views were nice but we found at least the room we were staying in was a bit dated. Could use some small refresher to make it a lot better. We had half board and thought breakfast was good but dinner was very mediocre.
Staff was all very helpful through our stay.
We had bad weather so booked a day at the spa. Massages were great but facilities were a bit disappointing. There was no water out while waiting for your appointment and the mens steam room was broken and hot tubs were not hot.
Check out was quite an awful
Experience. We waiting 30 min for someone to come get our luggage when we let them
know we are in a rush. We tried to bring our own luggage up but the elevator was broken down. When someone finally came there was an long line at reception. We were going to miss our ferry so said we were going to leave because we had a card on file. We were told we could not leave. When we left security chased our car and made us feel like criminals. I have never had to formally check out of a hotel in the last 5 years because they always have a credit card on file. We felt this was extremely unprofessional and that they need to get this organized for the future. Multiple people were outside complaining they were at risk of missing flights due to the slow check process that they were mandating. This definitely needs to be fixed in the future.

Starting with the great was our room with a spectacular view (Room 504) Heated private pool with spacious room. This was the best part. The beach wasnt my favorite because it was stoney and you could only get in by jumping off a dock. The buffet was awful but typical of an all inclusive. So we ate out mostly even thought breakfast and dinner was included. Our first night we had a screaming couple beside us and had to call about it 3 times. That was pretty awful. I have to say with that view what is there to fight about. But whatever. The beach bar has decent food but that is not included. The service was bad when we asked for mini bar items (which during covid you had to call down for) They never had stock of the items. So when we wanted snacks we were told they are out of stock. Lastly, they did q poor job of explaining where you could get food and what times. Overall, we wouldnt stay there again.

I was on a solo trip in Crete and wanted a break from daily life. So I found Blue Palace.First, the location. Amazing! (Even if very windy while I was there)The resort itself and facilities are beautiful. The elevator going from the reception to the beach is the special plus of the hotel. It can also be the minus as you have to wait quit long minutes sometimes but you have ways to reach your destination by foot too.The rooms are well maintained and so comfortable. The service is 5stars definitely, professional even though it could be sometimes a bit more real-friendly.The breakfast is high level. And the treatments provided at the SPA are magical.Expenses are high so plan it in advance.I spent 3 perfect nights in Blue Palace and will definitely come back!
