Everyone was so nice and friendly. Simply the best service across the board.

The lodge and views from the room were absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed seeing all the dik-diks roaming around the grounds.
As two people in our party were senior citizens, check-in staff gave us a room that was as close to the main entrance as possible - which was much appreciated due to all the uphill pathways and stairs dotted around the grounds.
All the staff were very friendly and service throughout the property was exceptional. We arrived rather late in the afternoon after a very long road journey but we were still provided with a freshly-cooked lunch which was delicious and much appreciated. The chef and a member of the dining room staff stayed back well after the usual lunch slot to attend to us and we would like to thank them both for doing this.
Due to the lodges being dotted around a sloping area and the stairs spread around the vast grounds, getting to and from the dining room was rather challenging for the two senior citizens in our group who both have mobility issues. The layout of the stunning grounds means that the property is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues as you can't really get around even with a wheelchair - hence the two senior citizens struggled to get to places themselves.
One member of our group slipped in the shower cubicle as it took a while for the soapy water to clear out - hence maybe a mat can be offered to make the surface less slippery?
This is the only downside of an otherwise stunning property.

This hotel did not feel like a 4 star hotel at all. Rooms are outdated, beds uncomfortable and food is very mediocre, not very varied and you feel as it is being rationed out. Their packed lunch boxes are very meager too, and of top of that not even fork and knives were provided to eat the meat. But what really was bad was that they stopped the generator at night until 5am, without any previous notice or warning to guests. Suddenly, I had no internet, no phone and no flashlight in the room. Not even my mobile phone had signal. I did not know what was going on because the room phone did not work. The property is not fenced so you cannot go out of your room without calling security. And I had no way to call them. I opened the door and used the light on my phone to sign, but nobody came. To me this is a very insecure place. Imagine if you get sick; you could die and nobody would know until next morning!! I do understand they want to save gas, but you have to warn guests and provide an alternate method of communicating an emergency.

The views were spectacular, but the property is a bit dated.

Serengeti Serena Lodge was a welcome sight at the end of our safari, beautifully structured buildings built inspired from local huts, complete with elephant grass roofs. Each building fit three rooms, which were completely separate and the ground rooms had their own balcony.Check in with the Expedia booking was uneventful, and we received delicious welcome juices on arrival. Rooms were clean and spacious - I booked the standard room which was huge; accommodated one king bed and one single bed. Cupboards provided ample storage space as well as a ledge for additional storage. There was a desk, and reading lights for both sides of the bed. The interiors were tasteful, as pictured, as with the exteriors, taking inspiration from local culture. There was a good number of plugs for charging electronics. Balcony was easily accessible with a view of the trees and the plains.Room came with basic coffee and tea facilities. It was also one of the few rooms in Africa that came equipped with a fan for ventilation. Bathroom was clean, had a shower with responsive hot water with good pressure. Toiletries were included - although our room initially did not have soap in the dispenser (which was not refilled as I forgot to inform the staff). Water tended to leak a little bit for our particular bathroom despite closing the shower door. Staff were all friendly and polite, and very professional.Packed lunch boxes were great (with added Cadbury yum), and dinner was an amazing buffet one
