I called before we went to share that I was claustrophobic and just had knee surgery. I spoke with Tricia who assured me that I could have a room on the second floor. When I arrived, my room was on the fourth floor. I was told that because I booked the room through Hotels.com they could not change my room. I had to leave the hotel and walk around the building to get access to the stairs. It was a blustery night. The key would not work in the door. I walked back in to the hotel and they gave me another key. I went back in to the cold weather and that second key wouldn't work either. The cleaning staff told me to go back outside to the door and she would open it. It took quite some time for the the door to be opened. The next morning the door issue (needed a new battery) was not resolved and I had to wait in the lobby for a long time. Staff shared that the elevators were going to be replaced in 2 years so that made me even less willing to go in to the small elevator. I felt like a second class citizen because I booked through third party. I would never go to this DoubleTree again nor would I recommend it. Breakfast was not part of our package but due to all the craziness of the stay, the manager gave us a free breakfast.

The hotel is in a beautiful location downtown by the water. The staff throughout the entire hotel were friendly and catered to our needs. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet that served bacon and sausage daily. When I made a mistake in ordering dinner, my mistake was fixed up by the staff so that I received a dinner that I suited my needs. I would recommend this for a great experience.

Staff was great. Our room wasn't ready exactly at check in time, but staff was very nice and apologetic about it. Our TV didn't seem to work, but maintenance came up within a few minutes and was able to fix it. Overall very nice hotel and staff was outstanding.

My wife and I stayed here for our 50th wedding anniversary, and the hotel made it special. They had rose petals on the floor from the door to the bed, then rose petal hearts on the bed, with our initial in the middle one. Also included were chocolate covered strawberries. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful! The restaurant was nice as well! All in all, it was a very good stay and we'll stay here again when we return to the area!

Very nice hotel. Fabulous view from our suite! Staff very friendly. However, disappointed with the mini fridge in room. Hard to close door, seemed outdated, was hard to put out bottled drinks inside. And sink drain needs attention. Drain seems plugged. Otherwise room was wonderful.
