The hotel staff were all very friendly and we had a great time. The beach was right in front of us and the sunset was amazing. The food was varied and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

My family loved the hotel and would like to come back again. The buffet breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing.

Absolutely amazing stay at Park Royal! Family room was spacious and very clean. Service was always quick, despite it being super busy. Breakfast was sometimes too crowded and required long wait times. This was sometimes difficult with young children. They should perhaps think about opening up additional places for breakfast to make it easier for guests.

We were charged a full day rate for half a day stay. The hotel then tried to charge me more than the full rate, even with confirmation of how much it’s supposed to be. The front of house team let down the rest of the staff. My family enjoyed the pool areas, however, there was never enough loungers near the pool in order to watch the children. The kids club had nice staff and also the tour desk, there was a very nice lady.

Very wonderful experience in the hotel. All staff in the hotel are very polite and with prompt response. The choice of breakfast buffet is perfect! I hope the service quality and the newness of the property can be maintained in future. One point is the swimming pool is not big as I imagine as I see the pictures of the hotel.

Convenience, scenery, good dining options

Good pools and lovely grounds. You can access the beach directly but need to be mindful of the Jellyfish. Food was good in the restaurants of the resort but the street vendors outside the resort really need a makeover with lots of flea market sellers. Well worth a return visit though.

The check in was smooth and they welcomed us with juices and local snacks! The room was clean and the property itself as well! There is a lobby shop who sells variety of medicine and swimming suits. Which is really convenient! There is a fire work show within walking distance!

Great facilities especially for young family with kids. Breakfast isn't the best but location wise very good and close to long beach hawker market. Staff are super friendly and rooms are great. Got upgraded to the Lanai Suite, was verg spacious with great views.

We loved this hotel and staff was very attentive and rooms were nice and big. It was our most relaxing stay in Malaysia. Buffet breakfast was great. Beach wasnt that clean or swimmable due to jellyfishes being out because of rainstorms.

Love every minute of it. A very nice place and it was the second time I’ve been there. I really enjoy the pool, the slide, walking on the beach, and the rooms are immaculate.

The grounds and pool were kept to a very high standard everything looked lovely. The room was very clean and airy and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Great place for a family vacation

We've got upgraded to the Lanai Suite which was spacious for a family. Housekeeping staff are also prompt to clean our rooms. Unfortunately, Javana Lounge is an open lounge that's not enclosed so it is quiet humid if trying to enjoy drinks and snacks there. Cinnamon Asian Kitchen aircon unfortunately could not keep cool enough for guests indoor hence very hot while having breakfast or dinner. Also, breakfast and dinner food is just so so, cooking skills are not up to standard for a 5 star hotel.

Run down, bad restaurant service, will not stay here again!

Hotel was clean, pool and garden presentable looking out to the beach, however the service especially at the garden/pool was very slow. Sometimes needed to follow up the order twice and when the fries came they were cold and stale. There was a nice variety of shops at the hotel from jewellery to clothes to medicine and sunscreens, this was nice to see. And I would highly rate the hotel gym, clean and great equipment and view. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was fantastic but the restaurant at the hotel Gustoso was not great at all, we celebrated my mums 60th there and sadly the food was very disappointing, also cold. The twin room was clean and comfy but there were no slippers or bathrobes provided and although we requested a refill of shampoo twice, it was not provided. For the price of the hotel stay, I would expect much better service and amenities.

Check counter could do with a better system, having an entry and exit line system for checking in and checking out according to who’s in line of queue first. Apart from this, stay was excellent and breakfast buffet was also a high light.

The hotel seems poorly maintained and the lights give the hotel a dull feel. The surfaces around the property was sticky, very noisy in the room with the fireworks for CNY that it kept us awake at night. I wouldn’t say it was worth it to come to Batu Ferranghi unless it’s for a standout resort.

Well located hotel on the Batu Ferringhi beach. The property is a bit older and needs some renovations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with multiple dining options within the hotel as well as within walking distance.

1) Was confirmed 2 rooms next to each other at booking but it never happen 2) Check in was 3pm as advertised but received room keys at about 4.30pm and 5pm respectively (2rooms) 3) Was informed by staff that since room keys were delivered late, was offered a late checkout at 1.30pm instead of 12noon. However, we were locked out of bedroom at 12noon. 4) My overall rating for Parkroyal Hotel Resort, Penang….we will not use it again unless no other hotels available in Penang.

I was recommended by my husband who visited this hotel a few times when he was a kid. He told me that the breakfast buffet, swimming pool and beach are hard to miss. Finally we can visit Penang and stay in this hotel and indeed it remains true today! The Javana lounge allows us to relax and enjoy a few glasses of cocktails (with some board games ready for us to enjoy.) Additional bonus is the spa service in late afternoon! We shall choose Parkroyal Hotel again when we visit Penang in the near future!
