Staff was super pleasant! Room was updated and spacious. The shower has no door and water spilled into the bathroom, as drain was slow. We saw a few ants but nothing major. The AC was not very strong. The breakfast was good with continental offering but they made bacon and eggs when requested. Quiet dead end street but shops/restaurants were only 15min walk! Beach was a quick trip down the stairs. Overall a wonderful stay, would recommend.

The property was right on the beach, just a few minutes walk. The apartment was substantially equipped for longer stays, parking immediately outside your entrance door.
The breakfast was incredible, the best hotel breakfast we have had in Portugal in 15 years! Gluten and dairy free options were plenty, the staff were so accommodating and friendly - our son felt completely included. Thank you!

First room was not suitable, asked for alternate room and it was worse than the first. Apartment had a musty smell, air con barley worked, had mold in the bathroom, bathroom wasn’t clean, coffee maker didn’t work and we were expected to pay for coffee while waiting for a different machine. Fan over stove was filthy. Checked out a day earlier. The only positive was the location to the beach.

Stayed here before and the location is perfect for us, quiet, although a short walk to local supermarkets, restaurants and the beach etc. Apartment is spacious and well equipped. Kitchen area has all you need to prepare meals. Only negative is that the wifi is intermittent and TV channels are not in English..

Many things in the room didnt work. The receptionist in the evening was very professional and welcoming but the staff in the morning had a very bad attitude.

This property had everything we needed for a great stay for a few days. Situated and two minute walk to the beach, and five-ten minute easy walk to restaurants. The rooms are definitely a little dated, but they have everything you will need, kitchen, fridge freezer, washing machine, tv etc. We loved that we could walk to the beach for a bit and then come back to the peace and quiet of the pool. We were there in the middle of the peak summer season and for a fair bit of the day, we were the only ones by the pool, which meant a pool lounge and palm tree for each of us!Reception were friendly and helpful, and booked us an airport transfer for our final day which turned up on time. It was €35 for two adults, two kids to the airport. We would happily stay here again as the beaches and beach restaurants are very family friendly.

We just had 2 weeks in the autumn sunshine, peaceful, end of tourist time. Location is very out of the way from the main area so perfect for a peaceful break

The apartments are spacious however the furniture and fittings are very dated and need upgrading. It is very close to the beach and 10 or 15 minutes from restaurants and shops. The main issue with our holiday was the poor customer service from EXPEDIA. We had booked 2 apartments for 7 nights which was confirmed by e-mail in June 2015. On Monday 10 August 2015, 3 days before we were due to travel, Expedia sent an e-mail saying that the apartment reserved for my daughters could not be honoured and that they would have to stay in a hotel, 5 miles away, for 2 nights. When I phoned Expedia to find out why I was told neither apartment could be honoured and that all 4 of us would have to stay in the hotel 5 miles away for 2 nights. This was unacceptable as we had family members staying at Clube Maria Luisa. Despite spending over 2 hours on the phone to Expedia in the US at my expense, this could not be resolved. When we arrived at the hotel in Portugal they informed us that they had no reservation for us. They phoned Clube Maria Luisa and were informed that the apartments were now available for the 7 nights. When I spoke to the manager at Clube Maria Luisa to find out how this had happened I was informed that Club Maria Luisa had sent an e-mail to Expedia on Monday 10 August 2015 confirming that both apartments were now available for the 7 nights. I never received confirmation from Expedia of this e-mail. I spent over 2 hours on 2 separate phone calls to Expedia on Monday 10 August

The apart-hotel is great, cosy and quiet. It is close to the beach, 10 min walk from the shops and a bit outside Albufeira city centre. The staff is great and Ricardo recommended the best places to eat.
We will go back!

Clube Marie Luisa is sadly showing its age. The decor and amenities reflect its 20+ years with no apparent modernisation. No Aircon in the rooms and curiously no available plugs in the tired tiny kitchen. Our toilet and washing machine failed and the fridge was more like another cupboard...such was its strength in chilling! All that said, the staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The rooms are cleaned very regularly. The area is quiet, with little or no passing traffic. Close to a busy beach...though not an easy access.

A quiet hotel, near to beach. 15 minute walk to nearest stores so taxi needed to transport heavy shopping, esp larger bottles of water. Staff very helpful

It was about 20minutes walk to the super markets and the village of Vilamoura . Although transport was available I liked the walk. The locals an the staff were very friendly which was a bonus. You can get a bus to Faro for about €3 which was a pleasant trip.

Not really a hotel, but a great base to travel from and return and relax just the same. It is a shame there is no longer a bar or restaurant. There are plenty of places close by but it was nice in the past to come back from a long drive and have a beer before getting changed for the evening.

Lovely private hotel never crowded well kept gardens, right on the beach via the stone steps and the beach is the prettiest in the area after exploring surrounding beaches. Staff exceptional although only there 9-6, but will help you with anything you need. Really spacious - room number 7, view over pool lounge with dining area, full kitchen even has a washing machine small hallway and large bathroom. Twin beds which can be put together for a double, and sofa bed in lounge. Lots of storage space and safe. Two pools just big enough and very clean. Housekeeping great - towels changed beds made floors swept. Only went self catering as a solo traveller and never felt intimidated in hotel or town even on the strip where bars and clubs were. The hotel is so quiet and hidden away from people making their way to beach. Don't normally go to a place twice but would definitely be going there again. Rooms styled in traditional way do not expect contemporary plush 5 star, but that's what made it so nice you knew you were in Portugal, some 5 star rooms are all the same and you could be in the UK (except for weather) very quaint accommodation. All in all a great time had, relaxing and friendly polite staff. Nothing going on here as in entertainment or restaurant but plenty of choices within walking distance. Not really for children

We had some problems with the check-in (waited almost 5 hours to get our room), and the staff didn't really give us any info about local attractions (maybe because we were there out of season?), but overall it was ok, staff friendly. The room was a bit dirty and needed refurbishment, but consisted of a living room, bedroom, separate, fully-equipped kitchen (kettle, microwave, washing machine, dishes, cutlery etc.) and bathroom - plus a spacious balcony. There was a heater in the bedroom, which was good, because it got cold at night (we travelled to Algrave in November). We had room service almost every day, there was a medium-sized swimming pool, and pool table at the bar - unfortunately, at the time they only served hot drinks - again, because it was out of season. It's a good hotel for those who are on a budget - don't expect many luxuries. It had one huge advantage: its location. Loads of stairs to the beach, but if you're fairly fit, it's three minutes walk, and the beach is lovely. We'd recommend the walk on the beach - when you get down the stairs, turn left, and you get rewarded with some beautiful views, soft sand and grottos. Alternatively, walk on the cliffs - it's breath-taking. The hotel is also near to the supermarkets, bars, restaurants and about 40 minutes walk to Albufeira, which is worth visiting. The hotel surroundings, however, are very quiet, which was great. Our room was facing the car park, but we still got a bit of a seaview from the balcony.

Good location, right next to the beach and a nice area to stay in. Not far from the main restaurants and bars. Would recommend to hire a car and see places around the algarve.
The hotel was very nice. It is basic and all you need really. It is quite and a pleasant place to stay. Might need to bring your own towels and a little kettle though. More suited to couples and those who want a quite and relaxing holiday.

Thought it would be out in the sticks but got airport bus to Faro bus terminal, then bus to Albufeira bus station. Taxi then to Clube Maria Louisa where we found the chap on reception to be very pleasant and helpful. Took junior suite facing on to the carpark, out of season(but apparently full, but only a few cars. Amazed at the room for the price. Bathroom had been revamped apart from the bath but just nice to get a bath and good shower above. Kitchen new fittings and equipment. Don't usually have all the equipment you would normally have in your own house. Did't use washing machine but fridge freezer was handy. Bit chilly but wall heater in bedroom, if you needed a litte heat in evening. TV OK, if you wanted to learn about Portugese, Politics and game shows. Quite good. Odd American movie. Bar very quiet, out of season but very cheap. Eateries on the main street or up the road. Beach just outside the hotel, across the road and down all the steps. Small and beautiful. (Buses more expensive than before. Pity railway was not more central to town of Albufeira but taxis OK). Staff in the hotel lovely. Even really nice guests who were happy with accommodation.

very nice place to stay. the beach is just behind the hotel and is very nice. shops nearby. very quiet area for a nice rest. public transport not very good but with a hired car there are very nice places to go especially in the evening to the albufeira town center where there are alot of shops , restaturant and alot of other atractions for people that like clubbing. very nice place and nice hotel. highly recomended.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful although they did close rather early. The rooms were spacious, yet homely and cleaned everyday! The location was a good 10 mins walk from a shop but if your'e looking for a quiet, relaxed place to stay, then this is it. Another location bonus was the fact that the beach was a mere 5 minutes away. Overall I had a really good time, would almost certainly go back!

You couldn't ask for a more peaceful location: at the end of a leafy lane above a fabulous beach and surrounded by low rise privately owned villas or apartmenrs. Good restaurants,supermarkets,shops/ATMs and bars all within a short walk. Go to the old village centre too, by another fabulous beach (down the road or by steps). The Aparthotel is centred on fine gardens and a good pool but only half the rooms are available to the general public and all these have land-facing (or car park-facing!)balconies. Complain like we did and get an upper floor room where the front veranda at least has a sea view. One last warning: avoid May in The Algarve as the sky is always partly cloudy or heavily clouded and the sea wind is a bit cool without the sun!

Its defnitely a good value for money. Near the beach, an ok size pool, appartment is big and clean. decor could be a little better.
1.5
Nice quiet appts, but quite a distance from nearest supermarket and no food on offer in the bar. Car essential as long walk to main road for taxi etc., Apart from that we enjoyed a good week in quiet surroundings and would return.

Albufeira was few euros away (1-2miles). The beach is a minute away and very clean. So you can make a decision to go there whenever you want. It has all the kitchen appliances so you keep you expendature to a minimum. there is a minisupermarket 2 min walk or a supermarket 5min walk. Try and catch a taxi on the main road towards Albufeira to keep the taxi meter low. There is a decent restaurant on the main road called Duarte, while there are heap loads in Albufeira. The in-house pools looks amazing at night from the apartment which is very inviting for a late night dip. Beds are changed every other day. No sat Tv but there is one in the reception if you don't like the sun. Cashpoints are wasy to find but changing euros i found difficult without going to Albufeira.
