An excellent hotel that sits right below a mountain dotted with cave dwellings. Beautiful garden, friendly staff, and easy parking. Family suite was great for our family of five.

We have been placed in a detached building, sort of secondary building that made us difficult to use the common services of the Hotel.

It the first time I visited Cappadocia and I wanted to try the cave hotel. My search on the Internet led me to Selcuklu Evi Cave Hotel, and I have to say I was not disappointed. The hotel manager and staff were very friendly. I arrived at 9 am in the morning and they let me check in, and even offered me free breakfast.

The hotel was gorgeous: exposed stone and interesting woodwork everywhere with traditional rugs all around. Our room was essentially a suite with a living area besides the sleeping area. Noise level was zero. On the other hand, I dont think many of the rooms would qualify as caves. The restaurant was a bit disappointing, mainly because it seemed to be geared more towards groups rather than individuals. But the two best restaurants in Ürgüp were close by. The hotel will organize tours etc.

Spent two days towards the end of November, 2014. Note that the hotel is Urgup which is 10-15 mins from where the hot air balloon rides are in Goreme. I recommend having a rental car for Capadocia in general no matter what hotel you stay at.

We stayed for two nights in October 2014. Our room had the finish of a cave hotel, with a view of some caves, and a very spacious and modern toilet. Toiletries were ample and of good quality . Breakfast was excellent with some hot omelettes and Turkish pancakes prepared before your own eyes. Halil, the owner, was always around trying to help. There was a bit of a confusion in which while we were picked up from the Kayseri airport free of charge in an exclusive Mercedes van, for the drop back we were charged 12 Euros each and herded into a general airport bus. Lunch was ordinary for which we were charged 7 Euros each. We therefore had all dinners outside the hotel in the market which was just 5 minutes downhill and had greater variety on offer.

We loved this hotel. Our room was a bit on the small side but it was so pretty that we didn't mind particularly as we had two separate terraces to sit on. The hotel itself is lovely and the setting of the hotel is quite spectacular. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful as in fact were all of the staff. Nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was lovely and included fresh omelettes or Turkish pancakes as well as the normal range of food offered in a typical Turkish breakfast. The evening meal extremely was very tasty and really good value for money. We ate there a couple of times during our 5 day stay. Trips, transfers organised by the hotel were very good. No complaints whatsoever!!

A really nice hotel with beautiful rooms and garden. The staff were efficient and nice. We even got to talk to the owner was is very hospitable and welcoming, he game us some advice on what to see. I would definitely recommend this hotel but for couples and families, the restaurant closes rather early so no night cap.

Stayed 3 nights. Hotel is located in town of Urgup and close to all other attractions in Cappadocia region of Turkey. Rooms are built in typical Seljuck style using local soft stones.Room are decorated with traditional Turkish carpets and furniture. Hotel has a nice garden and multiple terraces with view. Perfect for an afternoon beer while waiting sun to go down. Breakfast is open buffet and satisfactory. Staff is nice and helpful. There is a free car parking in front of the hotel.

The hotel's exterior and grouds are lovely. I booked a "cave" room for 2 nights. I was first put into a non-cave room but was too tried to deal with it that evening. The next day they put me in a "cave" room, but only the area over the bed was earthen, like a bed canopy, the rest was earthen blocks with mortar. My only real complaint was the owner, who would address me EVERY time I came and went, always trying to get me to go to his carpet shop, or eat in his restaurant, meet his friend, etc. I found myself feeling great releif whenever I "escaped" the hotel grouds without being "caught" by him!

The owners, Halil and Brigitte, were very welcoming. The restaurant prepared excellent dishes for a reasonable price. The breakfast (included in the price) was excellent. Halil introduced us to a local carpet merchant from whom we purchased a hand woven Rah Rah Kilim, at a reasonable price. The courtyard is very welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great value for money! The hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia is a must!

Nice hotel, very good service, very good breakfast selection including tasty Turkish crepes, omelettes, excellent yogurt. A short walk to Urgup's main square. Very attentive and helpful owner and staff. Good size room and comfortable beds, good size bathroom, nice shower, clean, bedroom includes water boiler for tea/coffee. Only suggestion would be to install a light inside the armoire where the safety box is kept. Overall a very pleasant stay, would definitively recommend this hotel.

Selcuklu Evi is the best! The owner, Halil was simply amazing. Personal, present, friendly - everything you could want. The staff was so helpful, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The perfect way to cap off an amazing weekend in this enchanting land. Halil even organized a day long tour with the best tour guide ever - Hamdih - make sure to give him a hug the next time you go.

Very friendly staff. Convenient location to most of the sights. Urgup downtown is just a 5 minutes walk.

Aside from the fact that the rental car GPS unit did not have the address of the hotel (I called the hotel and they sent someone to direct us to the hotel) and the rainy weather during our one night stay, the experience at the hotel was very positive. We would like to come back on a day that would allow us to walk around the town without an umbrella.

The courtyard was great and thank you very much for letting us have an egg hunt for our grandkids. The breakfast was very good as well. We loved everything about the hotel, the location, the amenities, everything was great. We felt at home, thank you.

All staffs are wonderful, breakfast even provide typical crepes eventhough can use a bit more variety of fresh fruits like plum or local apricot. Yasin Ozbas is a great communicator and able to help me with last day transportation include last minute sight seeing. My room has a wonderful terrace. I wish the bed is not very firm. Walking distance to downtown Urgup, only 5 minutes and you can enjoy fresh grapes you can pick from the vine (hanging on small walkway between this hotel and its sister hotel, Surban hotel).

This hotel is just outside of Urgup, a small town in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. It's reasonably close to the tourist sites in the area, and Urgup itself is small but very charming. The owner could not have been more gracious to me and my wife. The room was lovely. The hotel is spread out around a beautiful courtyard where meals are served. The personal service we received made out stay very pleasant.

At first entrance the hotel seemed very charming with an inviting garden and seating arrangement, which remained the highlight of the hotel.
We were traveling with our 3 children (2 of them teenagers). Therefore it sounded perfect that the hotel offered triple rooms, as well as family suite. So we were booked into the "Anatolian Suite", which consisted of a triple room adjacent to a double room.
However, the room we stayed in was facing the alley behind the hotel (hence a constant smell of dirty water!!) plus the room was tiny all around. The shower was so small my husband couldn't bend down to wash his feet. And it didn't help that the tiny bed also had a foot board, making it impossible to sleep in any other position but fetal all night long. Having said all that, i would not rule out the Hotel, because it was also charming, well located and offering a nice B'fast. Make sure to request a larger room and stay away from the Anatolian suite. By the way, the hotel staff spoke very little English and it took us forever to find the place on our arrival, because no one cold tell us where to go. So make sure you go with adequate directions and a good map of the area.

Très jolie hôtel, avec une déco de très bon goût, à 500 mètre du centre d'URGUP. Le propriétaire est marié à une Vendéenne et parle un excellent français. L'accueil est Turc, c'est à dire serviable, gentil, discret. A découvrir!

The beauty of Capadoccia region is complemented by the accommodation at Selcuklu Evi hotel. Each room is unique and the courtyard, patios, balconies and sun-roof provide ideal retreats. The high professional standard of the restoration of the building has been bolstered by superb attention to detail shown in the decor.
