A small town dated accommodation throughout this experience. The newest part is the gym where there are only 5 pieces of equipment with one broken during our 10-day stay. We do like old school hotels when traveling in Europe. However at Notarie, it simply needs a facelift with current style of mamagement. WiFi needs to up the game. First off, that old tapestry odor in the room needs to be eliminated. The dusts at the bathroom ceiling vent (415) needs to be removed. Toilet bowl waterstains (424). WhatsApp customer service line needs to be setup while getting rid of the in-room telephone. Stiff, old school front desk could be loosen up and be able to multitask. We did enjoy the daily fresh bedsheets and towels. Dylan at the front desk was helpful while Ro at breakfast was friendly, personal and yet professional. Brava !

The hotel room is very large and clean. But the cleaner has no patent we are told to leave the room because she want to clean the room. There's is no options for the cleaner that said not to disturb and the breakfast is not great. Staffs are alright.

The property could not have been in a better location. Although you do need a car to get to the hotel from the train station it was still within ten minutes. We used Reggio Emilia as a home base throughout our stay and found it to be a good decision.

Overall a good stay. A little difficult to find late at night since some streets were only pedestrian and phone maps didn’t indicate that (not the hotels fault of course). Nice stay and nice they have a 24 hour check-in available also.

The service, place and location were fantastic. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning (they only turn it on during the summer and May, while hot and muggy, doesn’t count) and the mattress (which was very hard). Everything else was great!

Albergo delle Notarie is well situated - right in the centre of Reggio Emilia. We arrived by car, which is a little tricky - negotiating all the tiny streets. But once we were there, the doorman helped us unload and we opted for the covered garage parking (€10) Our check in experience was very smooth. Our room was very clean and very spacious. Our feeling was that it was a little sparse - but it was also nice to have so much open space. The king bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. A highlight for us was the breakfast, which was included. It was a beautiful continental buffet with lots of local tastes - including Parmigiao Reggiano of course! Also pastries and fruit, yogurt, cheeses and meats. Very very good. If we stay there again , we may ask if there is a room with a view.
