We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed every second of it. We had a private pool in our room but also used the wonderful pool area by the sea.
Compliments to the chef and her staff for good food and fun experience during the cooking class.
This hotel is one of the best ones I have stayed at and would warmly recommend it to everyone.

This place is just awful. It’s an absolute joke. Do not be fooled by their beautiful grounds and their “5-star” claim. This hotel is a scam. First off, the resort is very far from town and you have to take a taxi to-and-from (which shouldn’t be a problem). We had to pay at the front desk for a taxi and they were quick to immediately mention we had to pay the taxi driver upon arrival as well. Paying double for a taxi? To top it off, the taxi NEVER showed up. We waited at the front gate for over an hour and nobody came to pick us up. By that time, all the restaurants were closed. The bathtub in our room had brown water flowing out of it.. we were told by the hotel staff that the water was “unsanitary” and “unsafe”. That is completely unacceptable and is a health hazard. Their beds are hard as rock and it’s as if you’re sleeping on the ground. We were unable to use their pool towels after 6 pm and were told there’s no exception to this rule. Seriously? Guests who pay money to stay at the resort can’t borrow a towel? They did not compensate us for any of these inconveniences. The hotel staff is by far some of the most rude people I’ve ever interacted with and the language barrier is horrible. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Amazing place to stay. It’s a little far if you’re trying to visit around Phangan but with such an amazing resort and service. You find yourself not wanting to leave.
The staff go above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Beautiful resort, great service all the way through. We booked a room with private pool and sea view and it was gorgeous, super detailed interior and very clean. Will definitely be coming back 🙏

We enjoyed our stay very much. Excellant service but I think our villa (hideaway with pool) will need some maintenance in the near future. Pool was clean and room was big.
Staff were very friendly and helpful

Please, please make sure you do your research in other hotels in area first. We paid for a pool suite and it no where near reflected the cost we paid. Staff were rude, cold - app didn't work to book anything. We were directed to self serve upon arrival for a "welcome drink" and given a cloth in a plastic bag and told to check ourselves in. Truly couldn't believe the quality provided vs paid. Much nicer hotels in the area despite the grounds being beautiful

This is not a 5-star hotel.
- We asked for a late checkout (1.30pm instead of 11.30am) and they refused although checkin doesn’t start before 3pm if they were other guests (and we had to wait 3 hours Brocker being able to checkin the day before)
- we had one small bag of laundry, less than a regular load, and they charged it over 45€
- the food is average at best
- drinks are over expensive
- the private beach is not even close to being as nice as the beach just near by
- very limited lounges space at the pool and beach making it super crowded
- the staff is nice but absolutely unable to help with any problems you might have

I am blown away by the beauty and services I received at this resort. It is genuinely the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed, and everything I’d hoped for when I booked it. Remote. Jungly. Private. The grounds are stunning and service was impeccable. I got the best massage of my life here - the masseuse actually brushed my hair at the end which blew me away. We rented a villa with a large, private pool and could not have been more happy with our choice. Would highly recommend!!!!! Thank you for making our anniversary unforgettable!!

Good value hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. The outside bathroom and bath were difficult to keep clean from leaves and birds. Our room was near the cleaners station and they started getting everything out at 6.30am which woke us up,
Very wide choice at breakfast which was good , also very busy. There are other restaurants along the beach which are nice to visit and a change from staying in the hotel. Overall our stay was good but parts of the hotel and area are showing signs of age.

This is not a 5 star resort by any stretch of imagination. Unkempt grounds, dark and gloomy room, old furnishings, beach towels as thin as tea towels and the size of napkins. Once at the resort you can access nearby village by precariously crossing rocks to next beach. Taxi back at night is 300bht. So many steep steps to and from the pool and rooms, so much so they offer little converted vans to pick up and drop off throughout resort. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Stunningly beautiful resort in the rainforest. We had a pool room in hotel 4 which was unbelievable. Staff is 10/10, breakfast buffet is amazing and there are many restaurant in the resort to enjoy. Will be returning and absolutely recommend.

Wonderful Villa Plus with private swimming pool, like in a dream! Overlooking the bay, great unobstructed view and very large, surrounded by nature. Breakfasts are great and full of choice. Staff is full of smiles and so helpful. We loved it!

We had a ok stay at this hotel. We booked a hideaway villa with a private pool. After one night we asked to change room in to the hotel. The villa had a lot of bugs and insects. There was a hole in the floor that ants and other insect was coming in. In general the villa was in poor condition and the pool wasn’t so tempting. We got our room at the hotel by the resort with a private pool. That was very nice! Clean room and the pool AND outside bathtub was very nice and clean! Amazing view! The food was okey but the service was very good. Even with some english translation problem.

This Resort is not safe and life risk. You asking why? I can tell you that my son and wife could be dead, because they want to take a shower and got a voltage shock. No fuse to stop voltage. This so dangerous ! Only by luck nothing serious happened cause they have been able to jump away from water. So water, pipe and the complete wall were under voltage. Can you imagne what would happen if a infant touch the pipe or stand under water which is under voltage? So we called reception. thex fixed it, but nothing else. No excuse. No one asking if my wife or son get hurt. No one asked if we need doctor. After we again complained, we have been offered another room. That´s it. On next morning check out a manager come and apologize and offered a polo shirt for compansion. WHAT A SHAME !!! After this dangerous case which could take life. This Resort don´t taking care of life! This Resort is beautiful but safe ! Taking a shower could take your life.

It was a nice stay but one aspect was that I spent a lot of money on dry cleaning and I received bleach stains on my colored clothes.

Absolutely beautiful and very quiet and serene. Staff were magnificent!

This was our 2nd time at Santhiya and we enjoyed it as much as previously. The only way to get there is by speed boat which runs twice a day, so it is nice and quiet. The room was large, comfortable and had a small plunge pool on the balcony with a view out over the sea. The restaurant was good, overlooking the bay and a good buffet breakfast was available. We walked into the nearby village for evening meals most evenings and went to several different restaurants, all with good food. The swimming pool is lovely, with a waterfall during the day and the sea is just a few steps away, so you have a choice! Unfortunately, the sea was quite cloudy while we were there but a lovely temperature! There are snorkling and diving trips to do in the neaby national marine park if you want to see the corals and fish which abound there.
The only "downside" is that the beautiful hillside setting means that everything is on a hill and if you find walking uphill a problem, it would be worth asking for a room near reception. There is a "wooden taxi" that runs 24 hours to take you up and down, but there is a wait sometimes! The only way to the swimming pool is down quite a few steps so again, worth thinking about a villa or room with a pool!
Great place to relax.

Loved it! Beautiful property with a very unique feel. High-end jungle retreat with fabulous Thai style villas. Villas were beautifully appointed and every little detail was thought of. Property was extremely unique and well manicured. Pool was fab and had a beautiful private beach. Little tug tug trucks transported you all around the property. Food was excellent and well priced. Loved everything about this place except check-in and check-out was a little lengthy and annoying. No big deal though. I would go back. It was a highlight of my stay in Thailand.

Absolutely amazing hotel - best I’ve ever stayed at

Santhiya has since 2009 been our favorite. But the level has fallen, which is so sad. Maybe this 7th visit will be the last. Reason is as follows:
The speedboat was changed to be boat+car and we were more passengers over that number of seats.
The villa needed to be renovated. Also lot of other teparing needed.
The water in the bay was bad, but after 5 days the trash in the water was finally removed.
The cleaning in room was ok but number of towels was reduced every day, and the evening room clearing was not happening.
Check in was 15:00 and not 14:00 as written.
Sorry Santhiya

We were only able to stay here for two nights in our 6 week adventure but it was one of our favourites! The room was beautiful, plenty of pools, friendly staff and great food! We will certainly be returning!

the rooms are very unique, outdoor showers and rustic but luxury feel. Great beach around the corner that is walkable. Very Friendly staff

Hotel structure is amazing, but the service is very very poor.
We stayed at the best room (Royal Grand) and even so the support from the front desk was really slow and confused. You can only move within the hotel by using small cars, but they normally take very long to send the car to pick you up.
Hotel structure is good and food is also good, but don’t count with any support from the staff for anything special, because they simply don’t have a concierge service (never saw this in a 5-star hotel).
Hotel is also very far from the main beaches and attractions in Phangan, so only stay if you plan to rent a car or stay full time at the hotel.

We stayed in two different villas during our 5 day stay. The first was the Junior villa with pool and o have to say, on arrival we were terribly disappointed. The villa itself was great but the view was on to our neighbours broken semi repaired roof. However, on a sea view villa becoming available 3 days later..my goodness! I don’t think we’ve stayed anywhere as spectacular. Both villas were so beautifully crafted and Thai in feel but that view! Shane it wasn’t what we ordered on arrival.
The resort itself is lovely. The staff ever so attentive and walking distance to the village. I think my only suggestion would be that the two separate restaurants on the property, should serve different menus. It would also be great if the hotel organised the excursions it advertises.
But…I would say they are minor details when staying in the secure villa with that view and our private pool! Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel located on a cliff with a nice private beach and amazing two pools, one on the beach and another one up on the hill (recommended for swimmers!).
Breakfast is excellent, the service in from the hotel staff is even better :-)
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the village, except the exit from the hotel which is dark at night and requires a little climbing the walk is easy.
The hotel rooms are old, but well maintained in most cases
3.0 / 5.0
Eco friendly facility built into the mountainside made this place truly special. The food at each restaurant was totally underwhelming and the cocktails were consistently bad.
4.0 / 5.0
Overall, this property was lovely and beautiful. But it was hard to leave the property without having a car or motor bike rented for my stay. Even to get to the very close small village, it was very difficult to get a taxi service and when I did, it was very expensive.

Amazing place, room was incredible, staff were so friendly and would go out of their way to do anything for you.
