The hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment. It was not worth the £102 I paid for a nights stay

We were recommended the hotel by a local friend. It’s tired. We were upgraded to a garden view room- noisy with the road and the lifts and a bed with springs that need replacing. The shower was a nightmare to off and the batteries in the remote didn’t work.

Bed uncomfortable couldn’t turn the shower off the room needs a make over

The hotel is in an excellent position, by the seafront. We were only in Worthing for 18 hours as we attending a wedding & so did not use much of the facilities. We arrived earlier than our check-in time but the desk staff & housekeeping were extremely helpful in allowing us to freshen up & get changed. The building is old & perhaps a little dated for some tastes but the things we look for in an hotel is clean bedding & a spotless bathroom. Both of these the Chatsworth delivered. The parking outside the hotel is limited to a maximum of four hours but there is a large multi storey car park about ten minutes walk away. The hotel can give you a discount code if you use it

This was a short break. The hotel is well situated close to the seafront. Parking is on street but lots available around. Friendly staff. All that we needed.

This Hotel would have been beautiful when it first opened. However, the interior was very dated and our bathroom was covered in mould.

Superb location, and superb breakfast.
Hotel now a little tired.
Staff very helpful

Stayed here before, the location is ideal for shore, shops and bars. The bath in our room was around 6-8 inches above floor level so a step in and out for some. The bathroom pull cords showing their age and could be replaced (or made to a wall switch). The room was comfortable for our short stay and if we were here longer I’d opt for the larger room. Parking outside is possible but there are carparks nearby of a 5 minute walk if it’s busy. Staff are great, and welcoming. Didn’t take up breakfast but on previous stays we have enjoyed the options. Will be going back.

Our family had a delightful stay last night at Chatsworth Hotel. Eva was wonderful in settling us in and assisting us with storing our 5 bikes safely. A beautifully maintained and clean hotel room with a lovely view of Worthing Pier. A convenient position near the seafront and easy access to the town centre.

The Chatsworth is a dated hotel, though it is clean it is quite tired.
I booked morning breakfast at the front desk on my arrival and was then challenged several times if i had or not paid for this I then had to wait until this had been clarified only to find that lo, then go through it all again following day as the same thing happened .

Had a great stay

Parking is a little difficult. There are spaces on the square but limited and need to be paid for until 6pm. The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. No curfew so you can come and go as you please. Room was clean and well presented. View wasn’t great but that can’t be helped. Lift is a little small and only one was working.

A town centre hotel reasonably quiet with excellent staff.
The hotel is clean and our room was very good. It is, howver, rather old and certain of it's facilities are tired and access to some rooms difficult for elderly customers.
3.0 / 10.0
Unfortunately our room was at the back of the hotel where we heard every bus reversing into to the station. It was the little things, the room layout was most odd , the angle of the wall mounted the TV, no milk jugs at breakfast or fresh fruit and last but by no means least no Prosecco at the bar! On the whole this hotel, despite being clean enough and breakfast being tasty, needs a make over

Room was very clean. Great sea view and spacious. Staff member on the day of booking in and the afternoon shift were very helpful.

We paid £166 for a room that was basically unfit for purpose. You had to access it via a staircase that was dangerous as it slanted to one side. The floor in the room was also slanted and furniture had to be cut off to make it look level. The slanting floor made me feel ill and I felt unsafe when going to the toilet at night .The lampshades were stained and although we had an Aircon unit there was nothing to control it with.Parking was advertised but when we arrived we were told it was street parking if available .As there was none we had to use the multi storey at a cost of £15.The receptionist was rude and unhelpful and the lift did not accommodate a wheelchair for my disabled mother in law.All in all the whole experience was terrible and definitely did not warrant the £166 paid

This property is quite aged. It needs a few million dollars to bring it up to decent standards. Many visible and amateurish repairs.

Bed mattress was saggy and uncomfortable. window in bathroom would not close/broken handle. Tv was tiny. Toilet was cramped into a corner too near wall! On arrival the was cleaning detergent on the floor by our room door. Lift not working so we had to use stairs to 3rd floor. Went to the bar and no-one was serving so we walked out.

A shabby outdated hotel. Badly needs redecorating/refurbishing and updating. Not obvious with adverts or on booking if breakfast was included. It was not and was disgusting. I remember this hotel in its prime years ago. It’s a pity it has been so neglected. Avoid.

The floors were uneven and the amenities limited in the room. The breakfast was mediocre

Ideal location if you are walking. Near all major stores and metres from the sea and pier. Cheaper rooms are at the back and overlooking bus depot, although not too noisy. TV didn't work, but I didn't use it and I reported it on check-out.

Friend,y hotel

The best way to describe this hotel is very tired and falling apart in places. The heating was stuck on so it was about 25 degrees in the room. We opened the window but it was really noisy next to the road, even with earplugs in. We effectively had a sleepless night. I would say overpriced at £150 a night.

Clean hotel with large rooms and friendly staff, lovely cooked to order breakfast Mmmmm

It was a lovely room right over the beach which was great but I would have expected a little more luxury for the price. However, acknowledge that it was right along the beach. Decor is a little tired and the shower was difficult due to how it was positioned but generally really enjoyed the location and the stay.
The bed was very comfortable and the overall building is fascinating and full of character.

Good hotel for a 3 star for a few days , great breakfast, next to seafront, very close to shopping area

Location that's all

Booked last minute, found check in very easy and the layout of the hotel was good. Its in the perfect location for Worthing Pier and facilities.
We came on a motorbike so managed to park in a bay right outside the hotel, if we were in a car it maybe of been a little more difficult to find the parking.
The mattress on the bed was soft, there were tea making facilities, and on suite bath/shower.
The only disappointing thing was the TV was tiny and on a bracket where it was facing downwards! so couldn't be watched.

Family weekend in Worthing. Two rooms booked in the same name but floors apart. Extremely tired decor. Mould in the bathrooms and blood stained towel. Poorly stocked bar. I couldn’t see out of my window because of the dirt. Finally the cost of £170 per room per night is completely unacceptable. Shame on you Hotels. com for listing this shambles.

Staff helpful. Room small. TV tiny. Noisey. Bar shut. Breakfast expensive. No evening meals.

On arrival staff were rude and unhelpful.
Could see into other people's bathrooms as they were getting out of the shower.
Hotel is in a great location and looks beautiful. Cleaning staff were polite and helpful.
Emailed a complaint and the GM replied offering a free upgrade if we returned.

The staff were approachable and friendly upon arrival. Entering the room, it was clean, tidy and organised. The matress was a little soft for my liking, but still comfortable to get a good, restful night's sleep.
The morning's breakfast staff could have been a little more attentive, but was greeted with a smile and cheeriness for half past 8 in the morning. Along with an evacuation due to a fire alarm, which so we were told was someone burning some toast, didn't increase my levels of appreciation for an early hour. However, the food was great and set me up for the long day ahead.
Pricing is competetive, even if a little more than would be expected. Though, time of year and last minute booking would also account for this.
Location is excellent. Across the road from a fairly large park, and the seafront. Close to town, too, which has transport links along the coast. Even with being on a pretty busy road during the day and with events on in the town, it is still quite quiet and peaceful.
Lovely place and good staff made it a welcoming experience.

Wouldn’t advise anyone to book here. Unless you don’t mind waiting hours for the shower to work properly. Was halfway through and the water stopped running. Had to wait half hour to get more water. It’s funny now but not at £140 plus breakfast and parking per night. Not worth more than £50 per night.
