It's convenient to walk around and there's a big shopping mall just 10 mins walk away. But the hotel reception is small not so obvious and not so nice, water water weak, since I was staying on the 11th floor, probably won't stay here the next time

I was overall satisfied with my stay at the HoJo, but there were a number of negatives that began to add up after a week long stay. While I was satisfied, I will not be staying again at the HoJo as there are similarly priced options that are better in Dalian.
The rooms were very spacious on the executive level, and included a small kitchen. The room was comfortable, and the bed not too hard (by China standards). The cleaning staff were also very friendly.
As the week went on, however, I noticed some small bug bites on my body. Considering I had just arrived in China and spent the majority of my first few days at the hotel, I'm fairly confident there were some sort of bugs in the room. In addition to this, on my last few nights my entire room quickly filled up with a very strong smell as if I were in the kitchen of a restaurant. Emphasis on "very strong". Considering my room was far from the restaurant in the hotel, I imagine some guests were cooking in their room and the smells came through the ventilation. With that said however, it is hard to imagine what they could have been cooking that would have made such a strong smell. I had no windows or doors open when this happened.
I don't want to say the HoJo is a bad hotel, as I was comfortable there for most of my stay... but I would feel bad if I recommended it and people encountered the same issues I had. Give this one a pass, unless it is a good deal cheaper than the alternatives.

The room was comfortable and staffs are very attentive. Local apple and apple dessert was served in the room and that added a little extra to my business. The area around the hotel is modern and clean and you can reach the Harbour with a 10-15mins walk.

Buffet doesn't have many choices and breakfast cooking staff didn't even remind me to bring the table number when I asked him to cook something for me. Instead he just said he was busy and asked me to come back later. How professional! However, good seafood restaurants are just 10 minutes away by the bay area. Room is pretty clean. We asked for a non-smoking room and it didn't smell smoke which is rare. Gym is very small and the only elliptical trainer is broken. I think they said on their website that there is a sauna room. But when I asked the front desk staff about it when I checked in, he looked at me surprisingly and cautiously as if I have brought up something very inappropriate. Maybe Sauna means something else in this city. Anyway there is no sauna in their gym at all. The gave me a free drink voucher at the lounge, but the free bubbly wine tasted awful. I changed to red wine, but it didn't taste any better. There is a 24-hour convenience store by the lobby and the food choices there are much better.

This is a very good, clean and well managed hotel. The location is excellent and the bar, lounge and rooms are all clean and well staffed.

GOOD: very clean, modern, efficient check in and check out; BAD: poor wifi connection, a bit pricy, take 10-15 mins to city centre, poor water pressure, food at restaurant is horrible, and it is VERY pricy.
