Love this guest house, it has lots of character and original features from its previous farming days. The hosts are absolutely lovely, so welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you.
My favorite part is being able to sit in the communal living room in front of a roaring fire with a nice hot cocoa and slice of cake.

Great place to stay for exploring area. Very comfortable and cosy room. Staff friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast and amazing sitting room with open wood burning stove.

If you are looking for something that is not the usual chain hotel, then we would suggest you put the Alnwick Lodge on your shortlist. It's certainly unusual but charming in it's originality. We were met by Evelyn (one of the owners) with a warm welcome and who showed us to our room. We stayed in the "Loose Box" bedroom. Two very comfortable single beds, with ensuite shower. A cooked breakfast is provided in the large dining room area. The lodge is located a few miles outside of Alnwick on the A1 and is ideally situated for local restaurants, pubs and local landmarks e.g. castle etc. we would definitely recommend.

Unique rooms, beautiful courtyard garden, cosy lounge and delicious candlelit breakfast. Quiet room despite being close to busy road. Only criticism that nobody at reception or instructions how to find someone.

Quirky. Clean enough and breakfast was good. Staff friendly when you could find them. Place needs maintenance.

It was an amazing place to stay with all its unique rooms and and shared spaces.
I would just like to say the it could do with a place name on the other side of the entrance. So that you can see it when your coming along the A1. Easy to miss.

Lovely quirky b and b with plenty of parking.
Entry road to get off at on southbound carriageway A1 is easy to miss at first but once you know where your going it is ok with option to cross carriageway to northbound opp the driveway when driving out.
Easy drive to Alnwick and Bamburgh castles plus Seahouses for fish n chips overlooking harbour.
Friendly staff, great info binder in room and breakfast was delicious. Comfy beds!

Lovely quirky place. Full of home comforts . Very helpful friendly staff . Lovely breakfasts .

Quirky property but disappointing because it was impossible to walk into town. It is next to the busy A1 and so each time we had to drive in. The towels were very thin and the bed was hard.

One of a kind . A quirky re-purposed farm with lovely courtyard and garden features. Clean and comfortable. Access to the property is directly from the fast and busy A1 dual carriageway making every arrival and departure feel somewhat edgy.

Great location on A1, just outside Alnwick. Advised to check in between 16.00-18.00 but couldn't find anyone. We were eventually helped by another guest. Room was pleasant enough although beds were creaky and uncomfortable. Faulty toilet: wouldn't flush. Breakfast is in the dining room and we had to wait, which wasn't an issue, but if you like to keep ourself to yourself when away, this is NOT the place to go. Only 3 tables: each seating about 12 people, so forcing you to sit and eat with strangers. We were assured our toilet would be repaired while we were out for the day, but upon our return, it was still broken, but the thing that worried us most was that the full set of master keys had been left in our door, enabling anyone to gain access to our room. We then couldn't find anyone to speak to, so had to resort to phoning the place. The gentleman who then came to our room then told us there was nothing wrong with our toilet and couldn't see a problem, with the keys being left in the lock. We decided to leave early.

I love Alnwick Lodge, and am trying to stay in as many of their individual rooms as possible. Each room is bespoke.
3.0 / 5.0
Owners were very friendly and welcoming but unfortunately we found a few faults with our room. Main concern was a lack of ventilation, there were no windows to open.
Secondly the position of the TV made it virtually impossible to be viewed by more than 1 person, as there was only 1 chair in the room and only room for that 1 chair.
Thirdly, hanging space was under a low shelf which meant that when we tried to hang something up it trailed on the floor, so it was impossible to use really.
On a better note, beds were comfy and we slept well and breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and with plenty of choice.

The building is charming, a warren of antique rooms and staircases. We stayed in the Silver Bath room, where our 5-year-old was quickly entertained by the bathtub. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, warm, and delightfully quirky.

Its an incredible building, very quaint with loads of charecter.
The staff are really friendly.
Breakfast is ok, we didnt get sausages, but apart from that...full english with a wide range of sides.
The room was comfortable, but no window ( due to the design.)
Not really Alnwick, and you WILL need a car :)

Booked very last minute on Easter bank holiday weeken for my Father. Arrived to find what i could only describe as stunning surroundings and so close to the A1 you wouldn't even know! The owners could not have been more helpful and accomidating with my elderly dad. Highly recommend!!

A quirky, carefully designed, unique property that is comfortable and warm with wonderful friendly staff.

Over 40 years of restoration has resulted in this beautiful old property being brought up to date for peaceful accommodation, in spite of it being on the edge of the busy A1.
Breakfast was very filling and done to perfection. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Delighted to see that pets are catered for.
Will stay again if travelling to or through Northumberland. Alnwick as well as local villages have some excellent pubs for evening meals.

Very quirky and interesting place to stay. Breakfast was lovely. Staff are lovely. Room was ok. We had a few woodlice we needed to get rid of. The sky light window isn't fully shut so maybe they were coming in there. If other people used water we could hear it right next to us. Room was lovely and warm with radiator on but as soon as you stepped out of your room it was quite cold. It said shop was open 8.30 till 4 i think but you couldnt find anyone around and it felt awkward wandering from room to room in the dark looking. It wasnt for us but if you like something a bit different definitely worth a night stay to visit surrounding areas.

I felt the property was extremely well furnished, and the very welcoming lounge area with huge log fire , was much appreciated.
As we arrived on a very wet windy, dark evening.
The parking area and path to the reception were a little difficult to find and navigate ,as very dark.
Excellent breakfast facilities.
Would definitely stay again.

A great place to stay! This is upcycling at its best and started before it was a trendy fashion.
Tasteful, imaginative and quirky.
The staff and owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful, even going to great trouble to out a banana when casually requested.
A lovely stay, thankyou!

I loved my brief stay at this unique accommodation. All staff are helpful and pleasant. The rooms are individually laid out and reflect the past use of the historic farm that Alnwick Lodge is based upon. Breakfast is very good with locally sourced produce.

Delightful place set around a courtyard. Very clean and spacious room with everything you could need. We were in East Granary room. Breakfast was good - help yourself to toast, yoghurt and fruit salad while they make you full English. Cafetiere of excellent coffee. Very friendly staff.
