Hey it’s a good hotel, beautiful old building in the centre of the village. Ostensibly pleasing, but oddly the staff seemed very stressed. I was told at check in I should have informed the hotel I was doing the Ultra Challenge. Why?? The outdoor pizza in the evening was chaotic, waiting 55 mins then frankly it was stodgy. The bar staff didn’t know what they had behind the bar, for example didn’t know if they any bitter. All strange. Fabulous comfortable hotel but could be so much more relaxing if the staff were ‘on it’. Sad to say I wouldn’t go back.

Havent stayed here before but would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a classy hotel stay. Everything about our 2 night stay was faultless. The room was fabulous and spotlessly clean and fresh.

Beautiful hotel with a medieval pub/bar in a great location. Room 2 had views of Dunster castle and the surrounding countryside. Food was delicious and the desserts exceptional.
4.8
Room was very comfortable and we appreciated the cold water and use of the fridge, fresh milk and tea/coffee facilities. Dinner was nice but the vegetarian options were a bit disappointing and expensive. The meat options were good but hardly any vegetables on the side.
The staff were friendly and professional

Fabulous hotel, extremely well run, from check in to departure everything was first class. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfasts were great and Psalters restaurant was excellent.
4.8
Pros: building is full of character, room was a good size, shower was powerful and hot, fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room, staff were very welcoming and friendly, large portions in evening meals, lovely breakfast with combination of cold buffet and hot food to order. There’s no car park and limited free parking outside but the hotel will reimburse any parking costs you’ve paid.
Cons: room was hot but with the windows open there was quite a bit of noise from traffic and also people gathering outside the hotel, probably not an issue if your room is at the back. The rigatoni pasta was tasteless (I wish I’d seen the other review saying this before I ordered!), the other food we had was lovely. Some of the residents lounge seating areas were not comfortable for eating a meal (sofas/armchairs) and service in the bar was not as good as in the restaurant.
Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The food and service was excellent, especially in Psalters.

Beautiful property and room. Surrounding area gorgeous! WiFi was terrible. Breakfast was outstanding!

The Luttrell Arms has so much character and atmosphere. It was warm, cosy and welcoming in every area. The staff are excellent and couldn’t do enough to help guests at all times! Very much recommended.

A lovely place to stay. Oozes history and the smell of log fires. Only one criticism regarding the menu. It wouldn't apply to most people but very limited if you're a plant based eater. The staff, however, went out of their way to be helpful.

The most wonderful 3 night stay, could not fault anything. The staff and service was impeccable. The room was exceptionally clean and so accommodating for our doggie, which is normally an issue. The food was unreal, faultless.
4.8
The staff were very helpful attentive throughout the hotel. The food was excellent, beautifully prepared delicious and presentation was perfect. A lovely outside garden with pods should the weather be inclement. Several lounges to relax in. An interesting historical building it was a pleasure to stay there and excellent value.

Food was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful, bedroom was lovely but a little hot at night. A fan would have been useful and a finest bedroom could have done with a nicer bathroom.

Our stay was very good the staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble to them.
Only down side was the restaurant menu did not change

Great stay lovely food, staff very friendly. Only gripe we had was the sharing of the toilets down stairs. I got a shock when what I thought was the ladies loo was in fact unisex as there was a man coming out of the other cubicle tucking his bits away. Maybe if a sign was on the door saying unisex it wouldn’t have been such a shock..

Met my parents to celebrate their 25rh anniversary, hotel arranged for flowers to be in there room as rhey arrived, with no hassle and more than accommadaring for me. Hotel has lots of character and all staff were helpful and friendly our whole stat with rhem. Would recommend to anyone

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely room with 4 poster bed and high vaulted ceiling. Some dishes not quite as described on the menu. Some restaurant staff very young and still learning. Parking not easy but hotel will reimburse car park charges if necessary. Dunster is a super place to stay and explore for a few days.

Our stay here was excellent throughout.Room was clean and very comfortable.Staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. We ate in the hotel on a couple of nights and the food was very good,as was breakfast. We had our dog with us and the hotel is very dog friendly, even providing a sausage at breakfast for him. Also a gate from the delightful garden into the National Trust land was a bonus for morning and evening walks. The bar is a proper bar rather than a characterless one like many hotels have. We are looking forward tour next visit.

Really comfortable in an amazing room, and all the Covid arrangements effective and not obtrusive. Superb food with very efficient service and generous portions - you do not leave hungry! Very flexible team; eg we had a warm sunny day in mid October so they opened the garden area at short notice.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, probably over priced and food and drink expensive.

Everything was just lovely. Thanks. Food, service and staff were excellent

The hotel is beautiful, old historic building with lot of character. The rooms are nice but the restaurant is the glory of this place! Oh and be sure to check the "Secret Garden" upstairs outside, very peaceful place for brunch or just reading the book.
Cons: Hotel without designated parking facilities. There is very limited free parking for entire town, otherwise there is paid parking lot like 100m away. Parking machine does not take cards, only coins.
