There was no option to open or close the window which I thought was weird. Maybe it was just my room...I don't know. The soap dispensers where not cleaned it all. They were rusty and full of old globs of soap residue. It was nasty. The toilet is a little different and makes a awful noise when flushed. The WiFi is bad. It kept cutting in and out. Other than those issues, it was a decent stay. The bed was nice and comfy.
If you are going in and out of the building, you have to use the exit door at the back. When you check out, just leave your key im your door because nobody is available in the morning.

Location is perfect, bed was very comfortable. Suited our needs when we were at a wedding and only needed a bed for the night. Boutique it is not though and was rather expensive for what you get. A toilet that struggles to flush paper and abysmal workmanship on the silicone sealant round the shower. Access to room after hours and egress in the morning via a poorly maintained, rickety fire escape due to no staff on site overnight.

It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.

There was no chef so no breakfast- we had to walk into town and this was an extra cost. The room was stiflingly hot with no windows. They provided an ac unit but it didn’t cool at all.
They had no hotel WiFi only a link to the cloud with Sky.
The room was very small, no chairs cupboards or wardrobe although it was clean and the bed comfortable

THE PROPERTY IS OBVIOUSLY IN THE PROCESS OF BEING UPGRADED BY THE NEW OWNERS.
HOWEVER THERE ARE SO MANY FAULTS WITH THE ROOMS , GENERAL ACCESS, THE COULDN'T CARE LESS ATTITIDE OF THE STAFF, FAULTY LIGHTING & PLUMBING. I THINK PUNCH TAVERNS ( THE NEW OWNERS) SHOULD BE OFFERING REDUCED ROOM RATES TO COMPENSATE GUESTS FOR THE INCONVINIENCE THE UPGRADE CAUSES OR CLOSE THE PLACE UNTIL THE RENOVATION IS FINISHED. LEFT BITTERLY DISSAPOINTED AND THERE WAS NO ONE , APART FROM A CLEANER, TO EXPLAIN OUR CONCERNS,

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room that i was in had a very high window so absolutely no view. The staff were very friendly and informed me that they had literally just taken over the property. Food wasnt an option as due to the take over they had no chef.

Run down hotel with no catering & virtually no staff & difficult access to car park. No ventilation in stuffy bedroom as windows were sealed shut. We had to use fire escape at the back for access as front door was locked overnight; no breakfast available so we saw ourselves out.
A note on the door gave a mobile number to phone in an emergency, with a warning that response time could be up to an hour!
Even Faulty Towers was better than this, tho to be fair the bed was comfortable!

Having been responsible for making a mistake on the booking date as I wasn’t cancelling but changing I found them very inflexible as did Experian as they weren’t getting good communications either. It’s a pub not a hotel. The accommodation was good except a bad smell from the bathroom where there was no fan, and no bath mat. Duvet on bed no problem but no spare blanket in case needed. Not for the unfit as it’s up four sets of stairs and if pub is locked, up a fire escape at the back of the building. Dining room not in use nor lounge just seating in bar kitchen door left permanently open, never saw anyone cooking but don’t want to see in, doesn’t portray a nice ambience. Never anyone to speak to out of pub hours no contact details in case you had a question, a bit laid back. If they served breakfast and had a cosy area to sit it would have potential.

Great inn option. Friendly staff and clean accommodation. Only comment was that it is a shame they were not offering breakfast when we stayed.

We booked this hotel as it was very close to Alnwick Gardens where we were attending a wedding. We were advised when we booked that the room was a small double with en-suite., but it was more than adequate for a one night stay. Staff were extremely friendly, breakfast was lovely and would definitely stay here again

Over-priced. We stayed another night in a different pub just outside Alnwick for half the price, with breakfast included, and it was much better. You’re paying for the location, but for the sake of driving ten minutes out of town it isn’t worth it. The room was big, but the bathroom was very dated, and the bar area etc felt quite tacky. Also the staff weren’t particularly friendly or engaged - there was definitely a ‘doing the bare minimum’ attitude. When we checked in the girl asked if we were eating that evening, and when we said we weren’t sure, she assured us that they would keep a table for us. What she didn’t mention is that everything in Alnwick is closed on a Monday. When we arrived back at the hotel at 10 past 8, having failed to find any food, we were told that the kitchen had stopped serving food. No apologies or attempts to come up with a solution. So we ended up having takeaway chips on a bench outside. When we checked out the manager apologised and offered us a discount. But don’t think we’ll be staying there again!

Very comfortable room in a great location. Staff were very accommodating with my pretty late check-in time. The car park is behind the hotel is a tight squeeze for larger cars.

Enjoyed our stay at The Plough. The room was lovely and staff provide dinner even though the service hours were over.

The Plough is just outside Alnwick Centre and very convenient for the town but also hitting the road to go elsewhere. The room I was in was comfortable and service was great. The room itself was very small but contained everything I needed. Including breakfast might be good but this might have been the result of fierce competition in Alnwick for accommodation in the week I stayed.

The restaurant is absolutely incredible, I’d genuinely go back for the food alone.
The rooms are really stylish and comfy and I think this place is an absolute bargain. I would recommend to all my friends.

So lucky with the weather through the day but it rained at night!! The staff were lovely. We had a little issue with the sky light when we returned to the hotel the rain had came in onto the bedding. All the girls quickly got this sorted for us and where so lovely.

Room was roasting. Downstairs was like a youth club at night, really loud. Staff were the average age of 18 doing 12 hour shifts. Cheap labour. Won’t be staying again. Oh and a member of staff walked in our room at 8:30am and saw my girlfriends bare bottom as we were rudely awoken! Before they ran off in shock we were in there!

Very nice pub, if you stay I’d advise eating in.

I would highlight the lovely staff and great breakfast service.Unfortunately though we found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable and even though we reported our issue and duvets were put on the mattress under the bottom sheet, my back suffered and not much sleep was had.The shower also had areas of mildew and from time to time there was an unpleasant smell in there. The hotel also needs to look at the carpet from the ground floor up past the kitchen and restaurant - it is in need of a re fresh. Sadly we will not be returning. This hotel could be great - the food is very good but more attention to detail is needed.

Excellent location in Alnwick to walk everywhere. We were upgraded on arrival which was nice. They do not pre-warn you about the very narrow arch entrance that you need to fold your wing mirrors in to get into the car park. A wide car would not get in. There is a back entrance that we were not told about until we arrived, but it is still a tight 90° turn, a few shunts required for long or wide cars. Food okay, breakfast not included. I asked for eggs benedict and was asked if that was with a fried egg, and it was swamped with hollandaise sauce, about a cupful.Next day l asked for scrambled egg and salmon. The egg had been microwaved as it was the shape of a big ramekin dish, and very dry.

Had a lovely stay staff very friendly it was a really hot night and could have done with a better fan
